Further numerical investigation on concrete dynamic behaviors with considering stress non-equilibrium in ShPB test based on the waveform features

In this study,with the meso-scale model reliably validated in our previous work(Construction and Building Materials,2018),the waveform features of plain concrete under various loading conditions and especially with considering stress non-equilibrium are reliably reproduced and *** with waveform features,the violation indicator of the specimen stress equilibrium in the split hopkinson pressure bar test is identified for concrete-like damage softening *** concrete material behaviors for stress non-equilibrium are further analyzed,*** dynamic increase factor(DIF)and damage development,*** conception of“damage failure volume”is introduced,and a new method of defining the development of concrete dynamic damage is given in the nimierical ***’s more,the“compression wave”and“double peak”phenomena observed in the experiment are further interpreted based on the means of numerical *** features how to reflect the concrete material properties is also *** results show that,the disappearance of the“double peak” phenomenon of reflection curve under high strain rate can be regarded as the indicator of the violation of stress *** the violation of the stress equilibrium,the relevant DIFs of the concrete specimen will not change ***,the concrete specimen will turn into structural response from material *** conception of“damage failure volume”can well explain the generation of the“double peak”phenomenon of the reflection *** “compression wave” phenomenon of reflection curve under lower strain rates is derived from the unloading expansion recovery of the concrete ***,under the same loading condition,the amplitude of the first peak of the reflection curve can be used as the evaluation standard of the bonding quality between mortar and aggregates.

In situ tEM investigation of electron irradiation and aging-induced high-density nanoprecipitates in an Mg-10Gd-3Y-1Zn-0.5Zr alloy

In-situ electron irradiation and aging are applied to introduce high-density precipitates in an Mg-10Gd-3Y-1Zn-0.5Zr(GWZ1031K,wt.%)alloy to improve the *** results show that the hardness of the Mg alloy after irradiation for 10 h and aging for 9 h at 250℃ is 1.64 GPa,which is approximately 64% higher than that of the samples before being *** is mainly attributed to γ'precipitates on the basal plane after irradiation and the high-density nanoscale β'precipitates on the prismatic plane after aging,which should be closely related to the irradiation-induced homogenous *** latter plays a key role in precipitation *** result paves a way to improve the mechanical properties of metallic materials by tailoring the precipitation through irradiation and aging.

toward trustworthy Decision-Making for Autonomous Vehicles:A Robust Reinforcement Learning Approach with Safety Guarantees

While autonomous vehicles are vital components of intelligent transportation systems,ensuring the trustworthiness of decision-making remains a substantial challenge in realizing autonomous ***,we present a novel robust reinforcement learning approach with safety guarantees to attain trustworthy decision-making for autonomous *** proposed technique ensures decision trustworthiness in terms of policy robustness and collision ***,an adversary model is learned online to simulate the worst-case uncertainty by approximating the optimal adversarial perturbations on the observed states and environmental *** addition,an adversarial robust actor-critic algorithm is developed to enable the agent to learn robust policies against perturbations in observations and ***,we devise a safety mask to guarantee the collision safety of the autonomous driving agent during both the training and testing processes using an interpretable knowledge model known as the Responsibility-Sensitive Safety ***,the proposed approach is evaluated through both simulations and *** results indicate that the autonomous driving agent can make trustworthy decisions and drastically reduce the number of collisions through robust safety policies.

Multicomponent self-assembled chiral systems have attracted great attention due to their promising application in the area of spin-photonics and *** this work,through introducing an achiral third component into an achiral binary crystal,a chiral organic ternary crystal is fabricated,where both pronounced chiral-optical coupling and magnetic field dependence of chiral-optical activities are *** transformation of achiral structure into chiral structure generates a significant effect on the polarized state of light and the electron spin resonance ***,the coupling between circularly polarized photon and spin is observed in chiral ternary crystal with pronounced chiral orbit,where obvious magnetic field-transmissivity loop is ***,temperature could increase the magnitude of lattice parameters to lead to a larger helix radius to increase the chiral orbit ***,this work indicates that the further exploration of photon-chiral orbit-spin interactions in organic chiral ternary crystals is promising.

Numerical Study on Local Flow and heat transfer Characteristics of Supercritical CO_(2) in PChE with Sinusoidal Channels

Local heat transfer and flow characteristics,which is crucial to the overall performance of supercritical CO_(2) recuperators,is rarely examined in details in reported *** this paper,the local heat transfer and flow characteristics of supercritical CO_(2) in sinusoidal channel printed circuit heat exchangers are numerically investigated under the working conditions of *** on the simplified physical model constituted by10 pitches,the variations of Re,heat flux,Nu,secondary flow and other relevant parameters along the flow direction are analyzed *** is further made between the high and low temperature recuperators(htR and LtR).It's observed that the local heat transfer and flow characteristics vary greatly from the inlet to the outlet,especially in the *** of 127.5% and 61.7% can be observed on the cold side of the LtR for Re and heat transfer coefficient h, *** indicate that the temperature difference and heat transfer coefficient h should not be regarded as constant and the distribution of h should be carefully considered in the design of the *** complicated interactions among the varying thermophysical properties,buoyancy and the periodically changed centrifugal force are believed to be the key that shapes the flow ***,the changes of the wavy angle θ are found to have greater influence than the changes of mass flow rate in reshaping the flow field when θ>25°.though gravity direction strongly affects the local heat transfer and flow characteristics,it's also found that the effects on the overall thermal-hydraulic performance are relatively *** the installation direction that yields a_y=g should better be avoided for the sinusoidal channel printed circuit heat exchanger.

Motif-based graph local clustering(MGLC)is a popular method for graph mining tasks due to its various ***,the traditional two-phase approach of precomputing motif weights before performing local clustering loses locality and is impractical for large *** some attempts have been made to address the efficiency bottleneck,there is still no applicable algorithm for large scale graphs with billions of *** this paper,we propose a purely local and index-free method called Index-free triangle-based Graph Local Clustering(tGLC^(*))to solve the MGLC problem w.r.t.a ***^(*)directly estimates the Personalized PageRank(PPR)vector using random walks with the desired triangleweighted distribution and proposes the clustering result using a standard sweep *** demonstrate tGLC^(*)’s scalability through theoretical analysis and its practical benefits through a novel visualization ***^(*)is the first algorithm to solve the MGLC problem without precomputing the motif *** experiments on seven real-world large-scale datasets show that tGLC^(*)is applicable and scalable for large graphs.

Crystal structure,phase transitions,and thermodynamic properties of magnesium metavanadate(MgV_(2)O_(6))

As a promising anode material for magnesium ion rechargeable batteries,magnesium metavanadate(MgV_(2)O_(6))has attracted considerable research interest in recent years.A MgV_(2)O_(6)sample was synthesized via a facile solid-state reaction by multistep-firing stoichiometric mixtures of MgO and V2O5 powder under an air *** solid-state phase transition fromα-MgV_(2)O_(6)toβ-MgV_(2)O_(6)occurred at 841 K and the enthalpy change was 4.37±0.04 kJ/*** endothermic effect at 1014 K and the enthalpy change was 26.54±0.26 kJ/mol,which is related to the incongruent melting ofβ-MgV_(2)O_(6).In situ XRD was performed to investigate phase transition of the as-prepared MgV_(2)O_(6)at high *** cell parameters obtained by Rietveld refinement indicated that it crystallizes in a monoclinic system with the C2/m space group,and the lattice parameters of a=9.280 A°,b=3.501 A°,c=6.731 A°,β=111.76°.the solid-state phase transition fromα-MgV_(2)O_(6)toβ-MgV_(2)O_(6)was further studied by thermal kinetics,indicating that this process is controlled first by a fibril-like mechanism and then by a spherulitic-type mechanism with an increasing heating ***,the enthalpy change of MgV_(2)O_(6)at high temperatures was measured utilizing the drop calorimetry,heat capacity was calculated and given as:Cp=208.3+0.03583t-4809000t^(−2)(298-923 K)(J mol^(−1)K^(−1)),the high-temperature heat capacity can be used to calculate Gibbs free energy of MgV_(2)O_(6)at high temperatures.
