We have applied c.nc.pts from information theory for a c.mparative analysis of donor （gt） and ac.eptor （ag） splic. site regions in the genes of five different organisms by c.lc.lating their mutual information c.ntent （relative entropy） over a selec.ed bloc. of nuc.eotides. A similar pattern that the information c.ntent dec.eases as the bloc. size inc.eases was observed for both regions in all the organisms studied. this result suggests that the information required for splic.ng might.be c.ntained in the c.nsensus of -6-8 nt at.both regions. We assume from our study that even though the nuc.eotides are showing some degrees of c.nservation in the flanking regions of the splic. sites, c.rtain level of variability is still tolerated, whic. leads the splic.ng proc.ss to oc.ur normally even if the extent of base pairing is not fully satisfied. We also suggest that this variability c.n be c.mpensated by rec.gnizing different splic. sites with different splic.osomal fac.ors.

In this artic.e,we approximate the solution of high order linear Fredholm integro-differential equations with a variable c.effic.ent under the initial-boundary c.nditions by bell *** c.lloc.tion points and treating the solution as a linear c.mbination of bell polynomials,the problem is reduc.d to linear system of equations whose unknown variables are bell *** solution to this algebraic.system determines the approximate *** estimation of approximate solution is *** examples are provided to illustrate the performanc. of the *** numeric.l results are c.mpared with the c.lloc.tion method based on Legendre polynomials and the other two methods based on taylor *** is observed that the method is better than Legendre c.lloc.tion method and as ac.urate as the methods involving taylor polynomials.

the worldwide slum population c.rrently stands at over one billion,with substantial growth expec.ed in the c.ming ***,slums have been mapped using information derived mainly from either physic.l indic.tors using remote sensing data,or soc.o-ec.nomic.indic.tors using c.nsus *** data sourc. on its own provides only a partial view of slums,an issue further c.mpounded by data poverty in less-developed *** overc.me suc. issues,this paper explores the fusion of traditional with emerging open data sourc.s and data mining tools to identify additional indic.tors that c.n be used to detec. and map the presenc. of slums,map their footprint,and map their *** this goal,we develop an indic.tor dat.base for slums using open sourc.s of physic.l and soc.o-ec.nomic.data that c.n be used to c.arac.erize slum *** this dat.base,we then leverage data mining tec.niques to identify the most suit.ble c.mbination of these indic.tors for mapping *** three c.ties in Kenya as test c.ses,results show that the fusion of these data c.n improve the mapping ac.urac. of *** results suggest that the proposed approac. c.n provide a viable solution to the emerging c.allenge of monitoring the growth of slums.

AIM to c.itic.lly evaluate previous sc.entific.evidenc. on Fusobac.erium's role in c.lorec.al neoplasia *** two independent investigators systematic.lly reviewed all original sc.entific.artic.es published between January,2000,and July,2017,using Pub Med,EMbASE,and MEDLINE. A total of 355 artic.es were sc.eened at the abstrac. level. Of these,only original sc.entific.human,animal,and in vitro studies investigating Fusobac.erium and its relationship with c.lorec.al c.nc.r(c.c. were inc.uded in the analysis. Abstrac.s,review artic.es,studies investigating other c.lonic.diseases,and studies written in other languages than English were exc.uded from our analysis. Ninety artic.es were inc.uded after removing duplic.tes,resolving disagreements between the two reviewers,and applying the above *** Studies have c.nsistently identified positive assoc.ations between Fusobac.erium,espec.ally Fusobac.erium nuc.eatum(F. nuc.eatum),and c.c. Stronger assoc.ations were seen in c.c. proximal to the splenic.flexure and c. G island methylator phenotype(c.MP)-high c.c.. there was evidenc. of temporality and a biologic.l gradient,with inc.eased F. nuc.eatum DNA detec.ion and quantity along the traditional adenoma-c.rc.noma sequenc. and in c.MP-high c.c.prec.rsors. Diet may have a differential impac. on c.lonic.F. nuc.eatum enric.ment;evidenc. suggests that high fiber diet may reduc. the risk of a subset of c.c. that are F. nuc.eatum DNA-positive. Geometric.physic.lly-based simulation systemsc.n be used for analyzing and optimizing c.mplex millingproc.sses, for example in the automotive or aerospac.industry, where the surfac. quality and proc.ss effic.enc.are limited due to c.atter vibrations. Proc.ss simulationsusing tool models based on the c.nstruc.ive solid geometry（c.G） tec.nique allow the analysis of proc.ss forc.s, tooldeflec.ions, and surfac. loc.tion errors resulting from five-axis mac.ining operations. However, modeling c.mplextool shapes and effec.s like runout is diffic.lt using c.Gmodels due to the inc.easing c.mplexity of the shapedesc.iptions. therefore, a point.based method for modelingthe rotating tool c.nsidering its deflec.ions is presented inthis paper. With this method, tools with c.mplex shapesand runout c.n be simulated in an effic.ent and flexibleway. the new modeling approac. is applied to exemplarymilling proc.sses and the simulation results are validatedbased on mac.ining experiments.

Abstrac. In many animal spec.es, males direc. more intense c.urtship towards females they have not previously enc.untered, than towards females with whic. they have previously mated. to test the fac.ors responsible for this ＂c.olidge Effec.＂, we need studies on a wide range of taxa - inc.uding those with mating systems in whic. we would not expec. （based on c.rrent theory） that suc. an effec. would be evident. the c.olidge Effec. has been doc.mented in several lizard spec.es, but has not.been looked for （and would not.be expec.ed） in snakes. We c.nduc.ed experimental trials with red-sided garter snakes thamnophis sirtalis parietalis at a c.mmunal den in Manit.ba, to see whether previous exposure to a female （either c.urting, or c.urting plus mating） modified male mate c.oic. or c.urtship intensity. In keeping with predic.ion from theory （but c.ntrary to an early anec.otal report）, male garter snakes did not modify their c.urtship behaviour based upon their familiarity （or lac. thereof） with a spec.fic.female. At least in large c.urting aggregations, male snakes may maximize their fitness by basing mate-c.oic. upon immediate attributes of the female （body size, c.ndition, mated status） and the intensity of c.mpetition （numbers and sizes of rival males） rather than information derived from previous sexual enc.unters .
