this study investigates the connectedness between Bitcoin and fiat currencies in two groups of countries:the developed G7 and the emerging *** methodology adopts the regular(R)-vine copula and compares it with two benchmark models:the multivariate t copula and the dynamic conditional correlation(DCC)GARCH ***,this study examines whether the Bitcoin meltdown of 2013,selloff of 2018,COVID-19 pandemic,2021 crash,and the Russia-Ukraine conflict impact the linkage with conventional *** results indicate that for both currency baskets,R-vine beats the benchmark ***,the dependence is better modeled by providing sufficient information on the shock transmission ***,the cross-market linkage slightly increases during the Bitcoin crashes,and reaches significant levels during the 2021 and 2022 crises,which may indicate the end of market isolation of the virtual currency.

Application of metal oxides-based nanofluids in PV/t systems: a review

Having the wide application of metal oxides in energy technologies, in recent years, many researchers tried to increase the performance of the PV/t system by using metal oxide-based nanofluids (NFs) as coolants or optical filters or both at the same time. this paper summarizes recent research activities on various metal oxides (Al2O3, tiO2, SiO2, Fe3O4, CuO, ZnO, MgO)-based NFs performance in the PV/t system regarding different significant parameters, e.g., thermal conductivity, volume fraction, mass flowrate, electrical, thermal and overall efficiency, etc. By conducting a comparative study among the metal oxide-based NFs, Al2O3/SiO2-water NFs are mostly used to achieve maximum performance. the Al2O3-water NF has a prominent heat transfer feature with a maximum electrical efficiency of 17%, and a maximum temperature reduction of PV module of up to 36.9°C can be achieved by using the Al2O3-water NF as a coolant. Additionally, studies suggest that the PV cell’s efficiency of up to 30% can be enhanced by using a solar tracking system. Besides, tiO2-water NFs have been proved to have the highest thermal efficiency of 86% in the PV/t system, but tiO2 nanoparticles could be hazardous for human health. As a spectral filter, SiO2-water NF at a size of 5 nm and a volume fraction of 2% seems to be very favorable for PV/t systems. Studies show that the combined use of NFs as coolants and spectral filters in the PV/t system could provide a higher overall efficiency at a cheaper rate. Finally, the opportunities and challenges of using NFs in PV/t systems are also discussed.

Smart parking lots are smart places capable of supporting both parking and charging services for electric vehicles(EVs).In order to manage EV charging,the parking lot local controller(PLLC)requires data exchange with EV charging stations(EVCSs)through communication ***,data losses and communication delays are unavoidable and may significantly degrade the system *** work aims to investigate the underlying communication networks for remote monitoring of EVCSs in a smart campus parking *** communication network consists of two subnetworks:parking area network(PAN)and campus area network(CAN).PAN covers communication among EVs,charging stations and PLLC,while CAN enables dedicated communication between PLLCs and a global controller of the *** one of the major obstacles in EV system is the lack of unified communication architecture to integrate EVCS in the power grid,we develop communication models for the in-vehicle system and EVCSs based on logical node concept of IEC 61850 ***,we implement network models for EVCSs using OPNEt *** communication technologies and configurations are considered in modeling and simulations,and end-toend delay is evaluated and discussed.

In the current issue of this journal,Neumann et *** novel insights into the role of inositol-1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor subtype 3(IP3R3)in combined immunodeficiency[1].they show that subjects with heterozygous variants in IP3R3 have dysfunctional Ca2+mobilization from the endoplasmic reticulum and impaired proliferation of t and B *** observations demonstrate that adaptive immune cells such as t and B cells are prone to defects in IP3R3-Ca2+*** highlights a new dimension to the function of IP3R3 in adaptive immune cells that was hitherto unknown.

In 2008, the very extensive tropical peats were estimated to be about 182 million ha spanning South America, Asia and Africa. About 20.3%(36.9 million ha) of this area exist in Asia. Peats are classified based on their degree of decomposition, namely Fibrists, Hemists, Saprists and Folists. this makes them different in characteristics. the activities of microorganisms vary in different types of peat due to, for example, the sapric layer of well humified peat can provide water and food to microorganisms during heat stress. In another scenario, deeper peat is older and typically has lower levels of labile carbon to provide substrate for microbes compared to surface peat. A complete understanding of the microbial communities in different layers of peat is essential as microorganisms play major roles in peat decomposition and are important to ecosystem processes. these peats are a very important global carbon(C)store or reserve and could severely impact climate change if not managed well. Peatlands can store as much as 40 to 90 Gt C. Mis-management of peats could severely impact the environment particularly the emission of carbon into the atmosphere. For instance, clearing of peatlands using fire has been reported to release an estimated 88 t C ha^(-1) to the atmosphere. there are several factors which influence the environmental consequences of tropical peat especially in relation to climate change. the main influences are:(i) changes in temperature,(ii) changes in precipitation or rainfall,(iii) changes in atmospheric composition, and(iv) fire and haze. this paper is a brief review on these four influences in relation to climate change. It is apparent from the brief review that there is a need for continued short and long-term research to better understand tropical peats and how they affect our climate. this will hopefully provide the basis for predicting better what could happen under various scenarios.

this article describes a method of vehicle dynamics estimation for impending rollover detection. We estimate vehicle dynamic states in presence of the road bank angle as a disturbance in the vehicle model using a robust observer. the estimated roll angle and roll rate are used to compute the rollover index which is based on the prediction of the lateral load transfer. In order to anticipate rollover detection, a new method is proposed to compute the time to rollover(ttR) using the load transfer ratio(LtR). the nonlinear model, deduced from the vehicle lateral and roll dynamics, is represented by a takagi-Sugeno(t-S) fuzzy model. this representation is used to account for the nonlinearities of lateral cornering forces. the proposed t-S observer is designed with unmeasurable premise variables to cater for non-availability of the slip angles measurement. the proposed approach is evaluated using Car Sim simulator under different driving scenarios. Simulation results show good efficiency of the proposed t-S observer and the rollover detection method.

this paper proposes a new method for control of continuous large-scale systems where the measures and control functions are distributed on calculating members which can be shared with other applications and connected to digital network *** first, the nonlinear large-scale system is described by a takagi-Sugeno(tS) fuzzy model. After that, by using a fuzzy LyapunovKrasovskii functional, sufficient conditions of asymptotic stability of the behavior of the decentralized networked control system(DNCS),are developed in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). Finally, to illustrate the proposed approach, a numerical example and simulation results are presented.

Nanofluids have attracted many scientists due to their remarkable thermophysical *** percentage of nanoparticles when added to conventional fluid significantly enhances the heat transfer *** and efficiency of nanomaterials have key role in the advancement of *** article analyzes the Hall,Ohmic heating and velocity slip effects on the peristalsis of *** boundary conditions and heat generation/absorption are considered to facilitate the heat transfer *** equations for the peristaltic flow through a curved channel are derived in curvilinear *** equations are numerically solved under the assumption of long wavelength and small Reynold *** has been observed that nanofluid enhances the heat transfer rate and reduces the fluid *** number and Hall parameter show reverse behavior in fluid motion and heat transfer *** the presence of velocity slip,the pressure gradient rapidly decreases and dominant effect is seen in narrow portion of channel.
