the 0.8 Me V copper （ Cu） ion beam irradiation-induced effects on structural, morphological and optical properties of tin dioxide nanowires （Sn02 NWs） are investigated. the samples are irradiated at three different doses 5 × 10^12 ions/cm2, 1 ×10^13 ions/cm2 and 5 × 10^13 ions/em2 at room temperature. the XRD analysis shows that the tetragonal phase of Sn02 NWs remains stable after Cu ion irradiation, but with increasing irradiation dose level the crystal size increases due to ion beam induced coalescence of NWs. the FtIR spectra of pristine Sn02 NWs exhibit the chemical composition of SnO2 while the Cn-O bond is also observed in the FtIR spectra after Cu ion beam irradiation. the presence of Cu impurity in SnO2 is further confirmed by calculating the stopping range of Cu ions by using tRM/SRIM code. Optical properties of SnO2 NWs are studied before and after Cu ion irradiation. Band gap analysis reveMs that the band gap of irradiated samples is found to decrease compared with the pristine sample. therefore, ion beam irradiation is a promising technology for nanoengineering and band gap tailoring.

the ultrastructure of the bone provides a unique mechanical strength against compressive, torsional andtensional stresses. An elastin-like recombinamer (ELR) with a nucleation sequence for hydroxyapatitewas incorporated into films prepared from a collagen-silk fibroin blend carrying microchannel patternsto stimulate anisotropic osteogenesis. SEM and fluorescence microscopy showed the alignment ofadipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) and the human osteoblasts (HOBs) on the ridges and in the groovesof microchannel patterned collagen-fibroin-ELR blend films. the Young's modulus and the ultimatetensile strength (UtS) of untreated films were 0.58 ± 0.13 MPa and 0.18 ± 0.05 MPa, respectively. After 28days of cell culture, ADSC seeded film had a Young's modulus of 1.21 ± 0.42 MPa and UtS of0.32 ± 0.15 MPa which were about 3 fold higher than HOB seeded films. the difference in Young'smodulus was statistically significant (p: 0.02). ADSCs attached, proliferated and mineralized better thanthe HOBs. In the light of these results, ADSCs served as a better cell source than HOBs for bone tissueengineering of collagen-fibroin-ELR based constructs used in this study. We have thus shown theenhancement in the tensile mechanical properties of the bone tissue engineered scaffolds by usingADSCs.

Nutrient loadings were measured for surface seawater and bottom sediments of semi intensive and improved extensive shrimp culture pond, adjacent estuary, and fallow land in the south east coastal region of Bangladesh during August, 2000—January, 2001 to evaluate the impact of shrimp culture. the mean levels of nutrients found in the pond surface water were 108 780 mg/L for CaCO 3, 0 526 mg/L for NH + 4 N, 3 075 wt% for organic carbon, 7 00 mg/L for PO 4 P, 5 57 mg/L for NO 3 N, and 7 33 mg/L for chlorophyll a. the maximum mean value of H 2S(0 232 mg/L) was found in estuarine water. Nutrients loading were found to be decreased with distance from the shrimp farm discharge unit in estuarine water. the mean level of organic matter, total nitrogen, and organic carbon were found in higher concentrations in sediments of cultured pond compared to bottom soil of adjacent fallow land at the same elevation. Extractable Ca values were found in higher concentration(550 33 ppt) in adjacent fallow land, as the shrimps for molting in shrimp ponds use extractable Ca. the relation between seawater H 2S value and sediment pH ( r= -0 94); sediment organic carbon and sediment pH values ( r= -0 76), sediment total nitrogen and sediment pH ( r= - 0 74) were found to be highly negatively correlated. Whereas the relation between seawater H 2S value and sediment total nitrogen ( r= 0 92), water NH + 4 N and sediment pH ( r= 0 66) were found to be positively correlated. the results revealed that load of nutrients at eutrophic level in estuarine water, and decrease of soil pH; leading to acid sulphate soil formation indicates a negative impact of shrimp culture.

the antiretroviral treatment (ARt) has significantly reduced the number of new HIV/AIDS infections and related deaths. However, cases of immunovirological discordance (IVD) are found in various locations. the objective of this study was to determine the profile of People living with HIV (PLHIV) with IVD and to identify associated factors. We conducted a cross-sectional study based on the records of PLHIV under ARt for at least 6 months, followed at Hpital de Jour Donka from 2015 to 2017, and having both viral load (CV) and CD4 t-cell count. Prevalence of IVD was 34.57%, with 23.87% for immunological discordance (ID) and 10.7% for virological discordance (VD). Females were predominant (66.26%), and male gender influenced IVD with a statistically significant difference (p = 0.006) and was associated with VD (p = 0.007). the average age was 38.77 11.30 years. PLHIV were classified at WHO stages 3 and 4 (86.01%). the median initial haemoglobin level was 11.5 g/L [3.2 - 12]. the mean initial CD4 t-cell count was 272.84 cells/mm3 201.6. the median initial viral load (VL) was 147,337 copies/mL [1092 - 31,675,000]. the initial CD4 t-cell count 3 was associated with IVD with a statistically significant difference (p = 0.0009) and correlated with ID (p = 0.000). Prurigo was associated with IVD with a statistically significant difference (p = 0.003). Cerebral toxoplasmosis was not associated with IVD but was associated with ID (p = 0.04). this study allowed us to describe the profile of PLHIV with IVD. the main associated factors were male gender, initial CD4 t-cell count 3, toxoplasmosis, prurigo, and herpes zoster.

the machining of hard-to-cut materials with a high degree of precision and high surface quality is one of the most critical considerations when fabricating various state-of-the-art engineered *** this investigation,a comprehensive three-dimensional model was developed and numerically simulated to predict kerf profiles and material removal rates while drilling the aluminum-7075-t6 aerospace *** profile and material removal prediction involved three stages:jet dynamic flow modeling,abrasive particle tracking,and erosion rate *** investigations were conducted to validate the developed *** results indicate that the jet dynamic characteristics and flow of abrasive particles alter the kerf profiles,where the top kerf diameter increases with increasing jet pressure and standoff *** kerf depth and hole aspect ratio increase with jet pressure,but decrease with standoff distance and machining *** profiles were characterized by progressive edge rounding and parabolic *** can be minimized by utilizing high jet pressure and small standoff *** material removal rate increases with increasing jet pressure,abrasive particle size,and exposure time,but decreases with increasing standoff distance.

BACKGROUND Proton pump inhibitors are often used to prevent gastro-intestinal lesions induced by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory ***,they are not always effective against both gastric and duodenal lesions and their use is not devoid of side *** to explore the mechanisms mediating the clinical efficacy of StW 5 in gastroduodenal lesions induced by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs),exemplified here by diclofenac,in a comparison to *** Gastro-duodenal lesions were induced in rats by oral administration of diclofenac(5 mg/kg)for 6 successive *** group was given concurrently StW 5(5 mL/kg)while another was given omeprazole(20 mg/kg).A day later,animals were sacrificed,stomach and duodenum excised and divided into 2 segments:One for histological examination and one for measuring inflammatory mediators(tumor necrosis factorα,interleukins-1βand 10),oxidative stress enzyme(heme oxygenase-1)and apoptosis regulator(B-cell lymphoma 2).RESULtS Diclofenac caused overt histological damage in both tissues,associated with parallel changes in all parameters *** 5 and omeprazole effectively prevented these changes,but StW 5 superseded omeprazole in protecting against histological damage,particularly in the *** the findings support the therapeutic usefulness of StW 5 and its superiority over omeprazole as adjuvant therapy to NSAIDs to protect against their possible gastro-duodenal side effects.

Chalcopyrite related compounds have attracted much attention in recent years due to their promising thermoelectric *** this research we report Fe doping in chalcopyrite-type CuGate_(2)and its influence on structural and thermal transport *** synthesized polycrystalline samples with composition CuGa_(1-x)Fe_(x)te_(2)with x=0.0 to 0.05 by spark plasma sintering *** structural analysis powder X-ray diffraction and electron probe micro analysis were *** of Fe in CuGate_(2)was found to be very small,and other phases like Fete_(2)and Cute were *** conductivity showed a significant decrease with the addition of Fe up to x=0.02,which started to increase for x≥*** the other hand,the addition of Fe caused slight increase in the power factor from 1.3mW/K^(2)m for x=0.0 to 1.6 mW/K^(2)m for x=0.02 at t=770 *** a result,Zt peak value of 0.92 is recorded for x=0.02 at 870 K,which corresponds to an enhancement of 60%from that of non-doped CuGate_(2).this work demonstrates that thermoelectric properties of compositematerials can be greatly improved by controlling its microstructure.

Many search-based algorithms have been successfully applied in sev-eral software engineering *** algorithms(GAs)are the most used in the scientiﬁc domains by scholars to solve software testing *** imi-tate the theory of natural selection and *** harmony search algorithm(HSA)is one of the most recent search algorithms in the last *** imitates the behavior of a musician toﬁnd the best *** have estimated the simi-larities and the differences between genetic algorithms and the harmony search algorithm in diverse research *** test data generation process represents a critical task in software ***,there is no work comparing the performance of genetic algorithms and the harmony search algorithm in the test data generation *** paper studies the similarities and the differences between genetic algorithms and the harmony search algorithm based on the ability and speed ofﬁnding the required test *** current research performs an empirical comparison of the HSA and the GAs,and then the signiﬁcance of the results is estimated using the *** study investigates the efﬁciency of the harmony search algorithm and the genetic algorithms according to(1)the time performance,(2)the signiﬁcance of the generated test data,and(3)the adequacy of the generated test data to satisfy a given testing *** results showed that the harmony search algorithm is signiﬁcantly faster than the genetic algo-rithms because the t-test showed that the p-value of the time values is 0.026the signiﬁcance level=0.05 at 95%conﬁdence level).In contrast,there is no signiﬁcant difference between the two algorithms in generating the adequate test data because the t-test showed that the p-value of theﬁtness values is 0.25>α.

Experiment statistical method and genetic algorithms based optimization method are used to obtain the optimum differential gear ratio for heavy truck that provides best fuel consumption when changing the working condition that affects its torque and speed range. the aim of the study is to obtain the optimum differential gear ratio with fast and accurate optimization calculation without affecting drivability characteristics of the vehicle according to certain driving cycles that represent the new working conditions of the truck. the study is carried on a mining dump truck Yt3621 with 9 for- ward shift manual transmission. two loading conditions, no load and 40 t, and four on road real driving cycles have been discussed. the truck powertrain is modeled using Gt-drive, and DOE -post processing tool of the Gt-suite is used for DOE analysis and genetic algorithm optimization.
