the sub-micron（of the order of 150 nm） thick core–shell composite fibers of magnesium ferrite-polyvinylidene fluoride are prepared by *** loading of magnesium ferrite is varied from 1 to 10 wt%.the study results by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscope,and infra-red spectroscopy indicate the formation of core–shell structure and an enhancement in the amount of b-phase compared to a-phase in the polyvinylidene *** particle size of the magnesium ferrite in the fiber is evaluated to be 30 *** low frequency dielectric studies indicate that the addition of the magnesium ferrite increases the polarization resulting in the increase in the dielectric constant but decreases the dielectric *** magnetization measurements indicate an increased value of coercivity compared to bulk due to the nano-size of the magnesium *** microwave absorption at the ferromagnetic resonance increases with the increase in the concentration of magnesium *** resonance field is found to vary with the loading of MFO.

Friction stir spot welding technique was used to join dissimilar combinations of aluminium alloy(Al5052)with copperalloy(C27200)and friction stir spot welding windows such as tool rotational speed–dwell time and tool rotational speed?plungedepth diagrams for effective joining of these materials were *** a central composite design model,empirical relationswere developed to predict the changes in tensile shear failure load values and interface hardness of the joints with three processparameters such as tool rotational speed,plunge depth and dwell *** adequacy of the developed model was verified usingANOVA analysis at95%confidence *** surface methodology was used to optimize the developed model to maximizetensile strength and minimize interface hardness.A high tensile shear failure load value of3850N and low interface hardness valueof HV81was observed for joints made under optimum conditions,and validation experiments confirmed the high predictability ofthe developed model with error less than2%.the operating windows developed shall act as reference maps for future designengineers in choosing appropriate friction stir spot welding process parameter values to obtain good joints.

Gene regulatory networks （GRNs） control the production of proteins in cells. It is well-known that this process is not deterministic. Numerous studies employed a non- deterministic transition structure to model these networks. However, it is not realistic to expect state-to-state transition probabilities to remain constant throughout an organ- ism＇s lifetime. In this work, we focus on modeling GRN state transition （edge） variability using an ever-changing set of propensities. We suspect that the source of this variation is due to internal noise at the molecular level and can be modeled by introducing addi- tional stochasticity into GRN models. We employ a beta distribution, whose parameters are estimated to capture the pattern inherent in edge behavior with minimum error. Additionally, we develop a method for obtaining propensities from a pre-determined network.

Abdominal pain with elevated transaminases from inferior vena cava(IVC) obstruction is a relatively common reason for referral and further workup by a hepatologist. the differential for the cause of IVC obstruction is extensive, and the most common etiologies include clotting disorders or recent trauma. In some situations the common etiologies have been ruled out, and the underlying process for the patient's symptoms is still not explained. We present one unique case of abdominal pain and hepatomegaly secondary to IVC constriction from extrinsic compression of the diaphragm. Based on this patient's presentation, we urge that physicians be cognizant of the IVC diameter and consider extrinsic compression as a contributor to the patient's symptoms. If IVC compression from the diaphragm is confirmed, early referral to vascular surgery is strongly advised for further surgical intervention.

Noise addition is a simple but effective method for generating a phase-only hologram （POH） of an object. Briefly, the intensity image of an object is added with random phase noise and converted into a digital Fresnel hologram. Subsequently, the phase component of the hologram is retained as the POH. Although the method is fast and the visual quality of the reconstructed image is acceptable, the edges and lines patterns are heavily fragmented. In this Letter, we propose a method to overcome this problem. An experimental evaluation based on numerical and optical reconstructions reveals that a hologram generated by our proposed method is capable of preserving line patterns with favorable quality.
