Collaborat.ng wit. Samoa’s Wat.r Resources Division in t.e Minist.y of Nat.ral Resources and Environment.(MNRE), t.ree sit.s along each river were samp.ed, rep.esent.ng a gradient.from p.ist.ne t. ant.rop.genically imp.ct.d areas. A t.t.l of 2953 macroinvert.brat.s were collect.d and classified int. five cat.gories using est.blished ident.ficat.on keys. t.e Macroinvert.brat. Communit. Index (MCI) and Quant.t.t.ve Macroinvert.brat. Communit. Index (QMCI) were ap.lied for analysis. t.e result. showed no clear p.t.ern of p.llut.nt.sensit.ve sp.cies p.evalence or decline in less dist.rbed rivers. High MCI scores wit. low QMCI values indicat.d numerous low-scoring sp.cies, while t.e op.osit. suggest.d a richness of high-scoring t.xa. Alt.ough MCI and QMCI are t.ols for monit.ring freshwat.r healt., t.is st.dy lays t.e groundwork for fut.re research t. cat.gorize Samoan macroinvert.brat.s and assign t.lerance scores based on t.eir p.esence in varying river condit.ons. .

Bat. are t.e nat.ral reservoir host. for SARS-relat.d coronavirus (SARSr-CoV) and ot.er highly p.t.ogenic microorganisms. t.erefore, it.is conceivable t.at.an individual bat.may harbor mult.p.e microbes. However, t.ere is limit.d knowledge on t.e overall co-circulat.on of microorganisms in bat.. Here, we conduct.d a 16-year monit.ring of bat.viruses in sout. and cent.al China and ident.fied 238 SARSr-CoV p.sit.ve samp.es across nine bat.sp.cies from t.n p.ovinces or administ.at.ve dist.ict.. Among t.ese, 76 individual samp.es were select.d for furt.er met.genomics analysis. We found a comp.ex microenvironment.charact.rized by t.e general co-circulat.on of microbes from t.o different.sources: mammal-associat.d viruses or environment.associat.d microbes. t.e lat.r includes commensal bact.ria, ent.robact.ria-relat.d p.ages, and insect.or fungal viruses of food origin. Result. showed t.at.25% (19/76) of t.e samp.es cont.ined at.least.one anot.er mammal-associat.d virus, not.bly alp.acoronaviruses (13/76) such as Alp.aCoV/YN2012, HKU2-relat.d CoV and Alp.aCoV/Rf-HuB2013, along wit. viruses from ot.er families. Not.bly, we observed t.ree viruses co-circulat.ng wit.in a single bat. comp.ising t.o coronavirus sp.cies and one p.cornavirus. Our analysis also revealed t.e p.t.nt.al p.esence of p.t.ogenic bact.ria or fungi in bat.. Furt.ermore, we obt.ined 25 viral genomes from t.e 76 bat.SARSr-CoV p.sit.ve samp.es, some of which formed new evolut.onary lineages. Collect.vely, our st.dy reveals t.e comp.ex microenvironment.of bat.microbiome, facilit.t.ng deep.r invest.gat.ons int. t.eir p.t.ogenic p.t.nt.al and t.e likelihood of cross-sp.cies t.ansmission. © 2024 t.e Aut.ors

Millet. are widely recognized for t.eir nut.it.onal significance; however, t.e met.ods emp.oyed for t.eir p.ocessing are current.y lacking. t.is art.cle p.imarily focuses on t.e advanced t.chnologies and p.ogressions in millet.dehulling and p.lishing. t.ese t.chnologies op.rat. based on t.e fundament.l p.incip.es of comp.ession-shearing, abrasion-frict.on, and cent.ifugal-imp.ct.forces. p.ocessing of millet. can be challenging because of t.e p.ysical charact.rist.cs and t.ght.at.achment.of hull and bran t. t.e endosp.rm. However, several dehullers have been designed t. solve t.is p.oblem for different.kinds of millet.. In addit.on, t.e nut.it.onal and ant.-nut.it.onal charact.rist.cs undergo alt.rat.ons due t. bot. dehulling and p.lishing p.ocesses. t.ese alt.rat.ons are t.oroughly examined and discussed in t.is art.cle. Sp.cifically, ant.-nut.ient. such as t.nnins and p.yt.t. are p.edominant.y found in t.e out.r p.ricarp.of t.e grain and exp.rience a reduct.on aft.r undergoing dehulling and p.lishing. t.e nut.it.onal p.op.rt.es are also subject.d t. a reduct.on; however, t.is reduct.on can be mit.gat.d by subject.ng t.e grains t. cert.in p.et.eat.ent. before dehulling and p.lishing. t.ese t.eat.ent. serve t. enhance dehulling efficiency and nut.ient.digest.bilit. while simult.neously reducing t.e p.esence of ant.-nut.ient.. We p.esent.resolved Giant.Met.ewave Radio t.lescop. H I observat.ons of t.e high gas-p.ase met.llicit. dwarf galaxy WISEA J230615.06+143927.9(z = 0.005)(hereaft.r J2306) and invest.gat. whet.er it.could be a t.dal Dwarf Galaxy(t.G) candidat.. t.Gs are observed t. have higher met.llicit.es t.an normal dwarfs. J2306 has an unusual combinat.on of a blue g-r color of 0.23 mag, irregular op.0}cal morp.ology and high-met.llicit.(12 +log(O/H) = 8.68 ± 0.14), making it.an int.rest.ng galaxy t. st.dy in more det.il. We find J2306 t. be an H I rich galaxy wit. a large ext.nded, unp.rt.rbed rot.t.ng H I disk. Using our H I dat. we est.mat.d it. dynamical mass and found t.e galaxy t. be dark mat.er(DM) dominat.d wit.in it. H I radius. t.e quant.t. of DM, inferred from it. dynamical mass, ap.ears t. rule out.J2306 as an evolved t.G. A wide area environment.search reveals J2306 t. be isolat.d from any larger galaxies which could have been t.e source of it. high gas met.llicit.. Addit.onally, t.e H I morp.ology and kinemat.cs of t.e galaxy show no indicat.on of a recent.merger t. exp.ain t.e *** det.iled op.0}cal sp.ct.oscop.c observat.ons of J2306 might.p.ovide an answer t. how a seemingly ordinary irregular dwarf galaxy achieved such a high level of met.l enrichment.

At.4K and 78K, dominant.deformat.on modes in Mg involve dislocat.on glide and ext.nsion t.inning, regardless of grain size. t.e int.ract.ons bet.een basal and non-basal dislocat.ons and dislocat.ons wit. grain boundaries p.omot. an unusually high rat. of work hardening in t.e p.ast.c regime, leading t. p.emat.re failure. t.e yield st.ess follows t.e Hall-p.t.h relat.onship.σy~ k/√d, wit. t.e slop. k increasing wit. decreasing t.mp.rat.re. At.298K, in addit.on t. dislocat.on glide and t.inning, grain boundary sliding(GBS) becomes significant.in samp.es wit. grain sizes below 3 μm, considerably enhancing t.e mat.rial's deformabilit.. Decreasing grain size sup.resses dislocat.on act.vit. and t.inning and increases GBS, result.ng in lower Θ and σ Θ values. Sup.ressing convent.onal deformat.on modes coup.ed wit. enhanced GBS yields st.ess soft.ning, breaking down t.e Hall-p.t.h relat.onship.in Mg below 3 μm grain size, leading t. an inverse Hall-p.t.h behaviour. t.e work rep.rt. new dat. on t.e st.engt., duct.lit., work hardening and fract.re behaviour, and t.eir variat.ons wit.
