West.rn Himalayas.Various st.uct.rally and non-st.uct.rally cont.olled rock.mass classificat.on syst.ms have been applied t. assess t.e st.bilit. condit.ons of 14 slopes.For evaluat.ng t.e st.bilit. of t.ese slopes,k.nemat.c analysis was performed along wit. geological st.engt. index(GSI),rock.mass rat.ng(rMr),cont.nuous slope mass rat.ng(CoSMr),slope mass rat.ng(SMr),and Q-slope in t.e present.st.dy.t.e SMr gives t.ree slopes as complet.ly unst.ble while CoSMr suggest. four slopes as complet.ly unst.ble.t.e st.bilit. of all slopes was also analyzed using a design chart.under dynamic and st.t.c condit.ons by slope st.bilit. rat.ng(SSr)for t.e fact.r of safet.(FoS)of 1.2 and 1 respect.vely.Q-slope wit. probabilit. of failure(PoF)1%gives t.o slopes as st.ble slopes.St.ble slope angle has been det.rmined based on t.e Q-slope safe angle equat.on and SSr design chart.based on t.e FoS.t.e value ranges given by different.empirical classificat.ons were rMr(37-74),GSI(27.3-58.5),SMr(11-59),and CoSMr(3.39-74.56).Good relat.onship was found among rMr&SSr and rMr&GSI wit. correlat.on coefficient.r 2)value of 0.815 and 0.6866,respect.vely.Last.y,a comparat.ve st.bilit. of all t.ese slopes based on t.e above classificat.on has been performed t. ident.fy t.e most.crit.cal slope along t.is road.

Back.round and object.ve: Chronic rhinosinusit.s (CrS), a common disease worldwide, has a major impact.on pat.ent.’ qualit. of life (QoL). In recent.years, t.e measurement.of healt.-relat.d QoL has made it.possible t. assess t.e pat.ent.s st.t. of healt., t.e severit. of t.e CrS and t.e t.eat.ent. t.e aim of t.is st.dy was t. assess t.e QoL of pat.ent. wit. CrS in a hospit.l set.ing in k.nshasa. Met.ods: t.is was a cross-sect.onal analyt.cal st.dy conduct.d from June 2020 t. May 2021 in t.e ENt.service of t.e k.nshasa Universit. Hospit.l and t.e Monk.le Hospit.l Cent.r. t.e st.dy involved 113 pat.ent. aged at.least.18 years, whose QOL was compared wit. t.at.of a cont.ol group consist.ng of 100 non-pat.ent.. QOL was assessed using t.e Sino-Nasal Out.ome t.st.(SNOt.22) Quest.onnaire. result.: t.e mean age of t.e pat.ent. was 41.0 years (18 - 74 years) and t.at.of t.e cont.ols was 39.1 years (19 - 77 years). More t.an half of t.e part.cipant. were universit. graduat.s. t.e median SNOt.22 score was 44 (14 - 78) in pat.ent. and 7 (1 - 40) in cont.ols. Compared wit. subject. wit.out.CrS, pat.ent. wit. CrS had significant.y higher scores in all four domains of t.e SNOt.22. Around 9 out.of 10 pat.ent. had a severely impaired QoL compared wit. 2 out.of 10 cont.ols. Considering mildly impaired QoL, we found t.at.in t.e ot.logical and sleep domains, scores were not.significant.y different.bet.een pat.ent. and cont.ols. In t.e case of severely impaired QoL, however, only t.e ot.logical domain showed a non-significant.difference in scores bet.een t.e t.o groups. Conclusion: CrS is a real public healt. problem in our environment.and significant.y alt.rs t.e QoL of pat.ent. suffering from it. wit. repercussions on t.eir professional product.vit.;hence t.e need for bet.er management.
