LU dynamics are obt.ined by classifying t.mporal remot.ly sensed sat.llit. imagery of different.spat.al and spect.al resolut.ons. t.is paper rev.ews fiv. different.image classificat.on algorit.ms using spat.o-t.mporal dat. of a t.mperat. wat.rshed in Himachal Pradesh, India. Suit.ble climat.c zones of Alnus spp. were modelled in Max Ent.soft.are using a subset.of least.correlat.d bioclimat.c v.riables for current.condit.ons(1950 -2000), t.pographic v.riables(DEM deriv.d) and Landuse Landcov.r(LULC) dat.. We generat.d sev.ral models and select.d t.e best.model against.random models using ANOv. and t.t.st. t.e env.ronment.l v.riables t.at.best.explained t.e current.dist.ibut.on of t.e species were ident.fied and used t. project.int. t.e fut.re. For fut.re project.ons, ensemble scenarios of climat. change project.on deriv.d from t.e result. of 19 Eart. Syst.m Models(ESM) were used. Our model rev.aled t.at.t.e most.fav.rable condit.ons for Alnus nepalensis are in cent.al Nepal in t.e moist.nort.-west.facing slope, whereas for Alnus nit.da t.ey are in west.rn *** major climat.c fact.r t.at.cont.ibut.s t. Alnus species dist.ibut.on in Nepal appears t. be precipit.t.on during t.e warmest.quart.r for A. nepalensis and precipit.t.on during t.e driest.quart.r for A. nit.da.
