Background and Object.ve: Int.rleukin-1 (IL-1) binds t. 2 dist.nct.and separat. recept.rs, t.pes I and II (IL-1RI and IL-1RII, respect.vely). t.e binding of IL-1 t. IL-1RI induces cellular signaling and biological effect., whereas binding t. IL-1RII does not.induce cellular signaling and indirect.y inhibit. IL-1 biological act.vit.es such as t.at.of t.e decoy recept.r. Recent.y, Suzukiet.*** t.at.soluble IL-1RII (sIL-1RII) was det.ct.d in gingival crevicular fluid from a periodont.t.s pat.ent. However, it.remains unclear which cells produce sIL-1RII det.ct.d in periodont.l t.ssues. We examined t.e localizat.on of IL-1RII producing cells in gingival t.ssues as well as relat.d product.on cont.ol mechanisms. Mat.rial and Met.ods: IL-1RII mRNA expression in gingival epit.elial cells (GE1) was performed by real-t.me PCR analysis, while t.e amount.of sIL-1RII product.on in supernat.nt.from GE1 cells was examined by dot.blot.analysis. Involvement.of t.e phosphorylat.on of St.t. in t.e signaling pat.way was det.rmined by west.rn blot.analysis. St.t.st.cal analysis was performed wit. St.dent.st.t.st. Result.: Cult.ring wit. IL-4 and IL-13 significant.y increased IL-1RII mRNA t. levels 10.5-and 8.89-fold, respect.vely, above t.at.of t.e cont.ol (pt.on of int.rferon-γ (IFN-γ) significant.y suppressed IL-1RII mRNA by 0.22-fold as compared t. t.e cont.ol (pt.e supernat.nt.of cult.red GE1 cells was increased by IL-4 and IL-13, and decreased by IFN-γ, while west.rn blot.ing det.rmines t.e suppression of IL-1RII product.on by IFN-γ. Wit.out.t.e addit.on of IL-4 or IL-13 wit. or wit.out.IFN-γ, P-t.r-St.t. was not.det.ct.d. Conclusion: IL-1RII mRNA expression and sIL-1RII product.on were increased by IL-4 and IL-13, and decreased by IFN-γ. Finally, IL-4 signaling was regulat.d by IFN-γ t.rough phosphorylat.on of St.t. and IL-13 signaling blockage by IFN-γ downst.eam of St.t. t.anslocat.on.

In t.e development.of st.uct.ral monit.ring, monit.ring syst.ms and collect.d dat. were used t. verify design assumpt.ons, updat. speci cat.ons, and facilit.t. t.e ef cacy of vibrat.on cont.ol syst.ms. St.at.gies and case st.dies on monit.ring for t.e design veri cat.on of long-span bridges and t.ll buildings, t.e performance of seismic isolat.on syst.ms in building and bridges, t.e veri cat.on of st.uct.ral ret.o t. t.e veri cat.on of st.uct.ral cont.ol syst.ms (passive, semi-act.ve, and act.ve), st.uct.ral assessment. and damage det.c- t.on are described. More recent.y, t.e applicat.on of monit.ring syst.ms has been ext.nded t. facilit.t. ef cient.operat.on and effect.ve maint.nance t.rough t.e rat.onalizat.on of risk and asset.management.using monit.ring dat.. t.is paper also summarizes t.e lessons learned and feedback obt.ined from case st.dies on t.e st.uct.ral monit.ring of bridges and buildings in Japan.

A 58-year-old Japanese man had t.rry st.ol and severe anemia. Neit.er upper nor lower gast.oint.st.nal （GI） endoscopy showed any localized lesions. t.us, t.e source of his GI bleeding was suspect.d t. be in t.e small int.st.ne, and he underwent.peroral double-balloon ent.roscopy （DBE） using EN-450t. （Fujinon-t.shiba ES Syst.m Co., t.kyo, Japan）. t.ere were no lesions considered t. be t.e source of GI bleeding. Aft.r t.e procedure, t.e pat.ent.began t. experience abdominal pain. Laborat.ry t.st. revealed hyperamylasemia and abdominal comput.d t.mography revealed an inflammat.on of t.e pancreas and t.e peripancreas. He was t.us diagnosed t. have acut. pancreat.t.s. Conservat.ve t.eat.ent. result.d in bot. clinical and laborat.ry ameliorat.on. He had no hist.ry of alcohol ingest.on, gallst.ne disease or pancreat.t.s. Magnet.c resonance cholangiopancreat.graphy demonst.at.d no st.uct.ral alt.rat.ons and no st.nes in t.e pancreat.biliary duct.l syst.m. As his abdominal pain st.rt.d aft.r t.e procedure, his acut. pancreat.t.s was t.us t.ought.t. have been relat.d t. t.e peroral DBE. t.is is t.e first.report.d case of acut. pancreat.t.s probably associat.d wit. peroral DBE.

BACKGROUND t.pe 2 diabet.s mellit.s(t.DM)is a risk fact.r for nonalcoholic fat.y liver disease(NAFLD).AIM t. det.rmine t.e prevalence and clinical correlat.s of NAFLD in a large cohort.of pat.ent. wit. *** Four hundred t.irt.-seven part.cipant. wit. t.DM who consult.d at.Meijo Hospit.l from April 2019 t. Sept.mber 2020 and underwent.comput.d t.mography(Ct.were *** mean age was 74±13 years,and 269 were *** at.enuat.on minus splenic at.enuat.on(Ct.−S)less t.an 1 Hounsfield unit.was considered fat.y *** was defined as fat.y liver in t.e absence of significant.alcohol consumpt.on and hepat.t.s virus infect.on.A mult.ple logist.c regression was used t. assess t.e independent.fact.rs associat.d wit. *** NAFLD was ident.fied in 25.2%of t.e *** age(odds rat.o[OR]=−0.945;95%confidence int.rval[CI]:0.922–0.969),higher hemoglobin levels(OR=1.501,95%CI:1.278–1.764),lower high-densit. lipoprot.in(HDL)cholest.rol levels(OR=0.971,95%CI:0.953–0.989),and t.e absence of dialysis(OR=0.109,95%CI:0.014–0.856)were independent.predict.rs of *** NAFLD was det.ct.d wit. Object.ve: t. evaluat. t.e usefulness of int.aoperat.ve ult.asonography (IU) for para-aort.c nodes t. ident.fy women who do not.require pelvic and paraaort.c lymphadenect.my in ovarian carcinoma. Met.ods: Comput.d t.mography (Ct. was used for assessing bot. pelvic and para-aort.c lymph nodes, and IU only for para-aort.c nodes in 87 women wit. ovarian carcinoma. All women underwent.surgery wit. rout.ne syst.mat.c pelvic and para-aort.c lymphadenect.my. We assumed t.at.no lymphadenect.my had been performed when no enlarged node was det.ct.d by eit.er Ct.or IU or when t.e woman was in t. st.ge. Under t.ese assumpt.ons, t.e numbers of women who would have had missed met.st.ses and who could have avoided lymphadenect.my were count.d. t.ese figures were recount.d on t.e combinat.on of t.st.ge and IU. Result.: A t.t.l of 22 women had pat.ological node met.st.ses. t.e numbers of women wit. missed met.st.ses on t.e basis of Ct. IU, and t.st.ge were 12, 2, 5, and t.ese who could have avoided lymphadenect.my were 72, 39, and 49, respect.vely. t.ere were more women avoiding lymphadenect.my by Ct.t.an IU and t.st.ge;however, more women wit. missed node met.st.ses. Bot. numbers were not.significant.y different.bet.een IU and t.st.ge. On t.e combinat.on of t.st.ge and IU, 29 of 49 women in t. st.ge could have avoided lymphadenect.my wit.out.missed met.st.ses. Conclusions: IU for t.e para-aort.c node is a useful met.od for ident.fying women who do not.require lymphadenect.my for t. st.ge ovarian carcinoma.
