Hemispherical phot.graphy has been used for many years t. measure t.e physical charact.rist.cs of forest., but.most.relat.d image processing work.has focused on leafy canopies or conifers. t.e boreal forest.cont.ins large areas of deciduous t.ees t.at.remain leafless for over half t.e year, influencing surface albedo and snow dynamics. Hemispherical phot.graphs of t.ese sparse, t.iggy canopies are difficult.t. acquire and analyze due t. bright.bark.and reflect.ons from snow. t.is Not. present. new met.ods for producing binary images from hemispherical phot.graphs of a leafless boreal birch forest. First.y, a t.resholding met.od based on differences bet.een colour panes provides a quick.way t. remove bright.sunlit.pat.hes on veget.t.on. Secondly, an algorit.m for joining up fragment.d pieces of t.ee aft.r t.resholding ensures a cont.nuous canopy. t.ese met.ods reduce t.e est.mat.d hemispherical sk. view fract.on by up t. 6% and 3%, respect.vely. Alt.ough t.e processing remains subject.ve t. some degree, t.ese t.ols help t. st.ndardize analysis and allow t.e use of some phot.graphs t.at.might.have previously been considered unsuit.ble for scient.fic purposes.

Non-t.ermal plasmas under at.ospheric pressure are of great.int.rest.in indust.ial applicat.ons, especially in mat.rial surface t.eat.ent. In t.is paper, t.e t.eat.ent.of a glass surface for improving hydrophobicit. using t.e non-t.ermal plasma generat.d by dielect.ic barrier discharge （DBD） at.at.ospheric pressure in ambient.air is conduct.d, and t.e surface propert.es of t.e glass before and aft.r t.e DBD t.eat.ent.are st.died by using cont.ct.angle measurement. surface resist.nce measurement.and wet.flashover volt.ge t.st.. t.e effect. of t.e applied volt.ge and t.me durat.on of DBD on t.e surface modificat.on are st.died, and t.e opt.mal condit.ons for t.e t.eat.ent.are obt.ined. It.is found t.at.a layer of hydrophobic coat.ng is formed on t.e glass surface aft.r spraying a t.in layer of silicone oil and undergoing t.e DBD t.eat.ent. and t.e improvement.of hydrophobicit. depends on DBD volt.ge and t.eat.ng t.me. It.seems t.at.t.ere exist. an opt.mum t.eat.ng t.me for a cert.in applied volt.ge of DBD during t.e surface t.eat.ent. t.e t.st.result. of t.ermal aging and chemical aging show t.at.t.e hydrophobic layer has quit. st.ble charact.rist.cs. t.e int.ract.on mechanism bet.een t.e DBD plasma and t.e glass surface is discussed. It.is concluded t.at.CHa and large molecule radicals can react.wit. t.e radicals in t.e glass surface t. replace OH, and t.e hydrophobicit. of t.e glass surface is improved accordingly.

Back.round: We hypot.esized: 1) resect.d pulmonary t.pical carcinoid (t.) will show a favorable clinical pat.ern compared t. ot.er bronchopulmonary neuroendocrine t.mors (BPNet.);and 2) At.pical carcinoid (AC) and large-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNeC) pat.ent. will have similar out.omes. Met.ods: t.e Surveillance epidemiology and end Result.dat.base was queried t. compare demographics and t.mor specific variables in pat.ent. undergoing resect.on for t., AC, LCNeC and small cell lung cancer (SCLC) from 2001 t. 2006. Result.: Similar t. LCNeC, AC pat.ent. had great.r incidence of hist.logic posit.ve lymph nodes compared t. t. (P ed a mean survival of 40.0 ± 1.9 mont.s for SCLC, 46.2 ± 2.2 mont.s for LCNeC, 58.3 ± 2.3 mont.s for AC, and 70.2 ± 0.2 mont.s for t. t.mors. t. pat.ent. demonst.at.d favorable survival, and SCLC pat.ent. poorer survival, compared t. AC and LNeC pat.ent. (P t.mors are a BPNet.hist.logy t.at.exhibit. clinical behavior dist.nct.from t.. AC t.mors should be st.ged, and t.eat.d wit. st.ge appropriat. t.erapeut.c st.at.gies similar t. ot.er non-small cell lung cancers.

An experiment.was undert.k.n t. ident.fy suit.ble shade house for different.high value veget.bles during t.e wint.r season of 2019-20 at.t.e research farm of Olericulture Division, HRC, BARI, Gazipur. The experiment was randomized complete block design with 3 replications. Four vegetable varieties viz., tomato (V1), brinjal (V2), capsicum (V3), broccoli (V4) and 4 shading treatments [1) UV stabilized polyethylene film with 60 mesh insect net along with green shade net (T1);2) UV stabilized polyethylene film with 60 mesh insect net (T2);3) 60 mesh insect net (T3) and 4) Open field (control) (T4)] were included in this study. Different vegetables responded differently with the changes of shade house irrespective of different characters. Brinjal (V2) resulted in the maximum seed germination (93.58%) with the lowest mortality (5.58%), in case of shading treatment, UV stabilized polyethylene film with 60 mesh insect net along with green shade net (T1) exhibited the maximum seed germination (94.83%) with lower mortality (3.33%). In case of combined effect, maximum seed germination (93.58%) and the lowest mortality (2.08%) weret.le="font.family:Verdana;"> observed in V2
