Background t.e crypt.c nat.re of pink bollworm Pect.nophora gossypiella(Saunders)larv.e enables it. reduced v.l-nerabilit. t. insect.cidal cont.ol.Furt.er,t.e dev.lopment.of resist.nce against.Bacillus t.uringiensis(Bt.t.xins posed a serious t.reat.t. t.ansgenic cot.on cult.v.t.on.t.is necessit.t.d det.rmining t.e crit.cal t.ming of spray applicat.ons on t.e cont.ol effect.v.ness.t.is st.dy assessed t.e influence of egg age(freshly laid v..t.ree-day-old)and t.e loca-t.on of larv.e(direct.y exposed t. t.e insect.cide residues on t.e boll rind v..burrowed inside t.e bolls)on insect.cide cont.ol efficacy.Result. t.e result. rev.aled a significant.decrease in t.e ov.cidal act.v.t. of t.st.d insect.cides wit. an increase in t.e age of eggs from one day old t. t.ree days old(paired t.t.st.Pt.e larv.e direct.y exposed t. t.e insec-t.cide residues on t.e boll rind were more suscept.ble(>80%mort.lit.)t.an t.e larv.e exposed aft.r t.ey had bur-rowed inside t.e bolls(t.lit.).t.e inhibit.ry effect. of t.st.d insect.cides on dev.lopment.l biology were more pronounced in t.e experiment.on pre-larv.l release insect.cide t.eat.ent.compared wit. insect.cide t.eat.ent.giv.n post.larv.l release and ent.y inside t.e bolls.Conclusion Egg age influences t.e insect.cide suscept.bilit.,as does t.e larv.l locat.on,direct.y exposed v. bur-rowed inside t.e bolls.Older eggs and t.e larv.e t.at.had burrowed inside t.e green bolls of cot.on were relat.v.ly less suscept.ble t. t.e insect.cide t.eat.ent..t.e t.xic effect. of insect.cides on egg and larv.l st.ges were primar-ily ephemeral.t.ese findings are significant.for dev.sing a comprehensiv. st.at.gy for pink bollworm management.on a sust.inable basis.

Obj.ct.v.:t. ident.fy possible st.ne-promot.ng microbes,we compared t.e profiles of microbes grown from st.nes of pat.ent. wit. and wit.out.met.bolic syndrome(Met.).t.e associat.on bet.een Met. and urinary st.ne disease is well est.blished,but.t.e exact.pat.ophysiologic relat.onship remains unknown.Recent.ev.dence suggest. urinary t.act.dysbiosis may lead t. increased nephrolit.iasis risk.Met.ods:At.t.e t.me of percut.neous nephrolit.ot.my,bladder urine and st.ne fragment. were collect.d from pat.ent. wit. and wit.out.Met..Bot. sample t.pes were subj.ct.d t. expanded quant.t.t.v. urine cult.re(EQUC)and 16 S ribosomal RNA gene sequencing.Result.:Fift.-sev.n pat.ent. included 12 cont.ols(21.1%)and 45 Met. pat.ent.(78.9%).Bot. cohort. were similar wit. respect.t. demographics and non-Met. comorbidit.es.No cont.ols had uric acid st.ne composit.on.By EQUC,bact.ria were det.ct.d more frequent.y in Met. st.nes(42.2%)compared t. cont.ols(8.3%)(p=0.041).Bact.ria also were more abundant.in st.nes of Met. pat.ent. compared t. cont.ols.t. v.lidat. our EQUC result.,we performed 16 S ribosomal RNA gene sequencing.In 12/16(75.0%)sequence-posit.v. st.nes,EQUC reliably isolat.d at.least.one species of t.e sequenced genera.Bact.ria were det.ct.d in bot.“infect.ous”and“non-infect.ous”st.ne composit.ons.Conclusion:Bact.ria are more common and more abundant.in Met. st.nes t.an cont.ol st.nes.Our findings support.a role for bact.ria in urinary st.ne disease for pat.ent. wit. Met. regardless of st.ne composit.on.
