Beneficiat.on of non-coking coal is gaining ground in India. It.not.only reduces t.e volume of inert.cont.nt.t. be t.ansport.d t. t.e power plant.and also lowers t.e wear in t.e boiler houses. For special applicat.ons such as t.e fuel for int.grat.d gasificat.on combined cycle plant.（IGCC）, t.e ash cont.nt.in t.e coal should preferably be below 15 %. Indian coals are charact.rized by high int.r-grown ash cont.nt.mainly due t. ＇drift.origin＇ of Gondwana format.on in Permian age. t.is warrant. fine grinding of non-coking coal in order t. liberat. t.e ash forming minerals from coal macerals. A non- coking coal sample of vit.init. t.pe from India was ground t. 44 ~t. （dso） and subject.d t. column flot.t.on t. improve it. qualit.. t.e non-coking coal analyzing 34.6 % ash, 26.2 % volat.le mat.er, 1.3 % moist.re and 37.9 % fixed carbon could be upgraded t. a concent.at./frot. of 14.83 % ash at.72.18 % yield by opt.mizing collect.r and frot.er dosages and flot.t.on column operat.ng paramet.rs, namely, frot. dept., superficial feed velocit. and superficial air velocit.. t.e concent.at. produced by t.is process is suit.ble as fuel for IGCC in coal-t.-elect.icit. rout..

An at.empt.is made in t.e present.st.dy t. obt.in t.e relat.onships among process paramet.rs and physical dimensions of AA6063 aluminium alloy coat.ng on IS2062 mild st.el obt.ined t.rough frict.on surfacing and t.eir impact.on st.engt. and duct.lit. of t.e coat.ng. Fact.rial experiment.l design t.chnique was used t. invest.gat. and select.t.e paramet.r combinat.on t. achieve a coat.ng wit. adequat. st.engt. and duct.lit.. Spindle speed, axial force and t.ble t.averse speed were observed t. be t.e most.significant.fact.rs on physical dimensions. It.was observed t.at.t.e t.ickness of t.e coat.ng decreased as t.e coat.ng widt. increased. In addit.on, t.e widt. and t.ickness of t.e coat.ngs are higher at.low and high t.rques. At.int.rmediat. t.rque values, when t.e force is high, t.e widt. of t.e coat.ng is high, and it. t.ickness is t.in; and when t.e force is low, t.e widt. and t.ickness are low. t.e int.ract.on effect.bet.een axial force(F)-t.ble t.averse speed(Vx) and spindle speed(N)-t.ble t.averse speed(Vx) produced an increasing effect.on coat.ng widt. and t.ickness, but.ot.er int.ract.ons exhibit.d decreasing influence. It.has also been observed t.at.sound coat.ngs could be obt.ined in a narrow set.of paramet.r range as t.e subst.at.-coat.ng mat.rials are met.llurgically incompat.ble and have a propensit. t. form brit.le int.rmet.llics.

A low grade graphit. ore from east.rn India was beneficiat.d by flot.t.on t. improve it. qualit.. t.e ore was composed of 87.80%ash and 8.59%fixed carbon. Primary coarse wet.grinding （d80：186 μm） followed by rougher flot.t.on in Denver flot.t.on cell using diesel as collect.r and pine oil as frot.er yielded a rougher concent.at.. Regrinding （d80：144 μm） of t.is rougher concent.at. was opt.d for furt.er libera-t.on of graphit.. It.was followed by cleaning in laborat.ry flot.t.on column. t.is combined process of relat.vely coarse primary grinding followed by regrinding and cleaning in flot.t.on column result.d in final concent.at. of 7.44% yield wit. 89.65% fixed carbon and 6.00% ash. t.is approach of t.o-st.ge grinding t. recover t.e flake graphit. at.t.e coarsest.possible grind can help t. minimize grinding energy cost.. A concept.al flow sheet.which is cost.effect.ve was developed based on t.is met.odology.

Wit. t.e proposed reconfigurat.on met.od, t.e radial st.uct.re of t.e dist.ibut.on syst.m is ret.ined and t.e burden on t.e opt.mizat.on t.chnique is reduced. t.st.result. are present.d for t.e 16-bus sample net.ork, t.e proposed reconfigurat.on met.od has effect.vely decreased t.e LBI, and t.e BFOA t.chnique is efficient.in searching for t.e opt.mal solut.on.

Bi1-xBaxFeO3 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.3) nanopowders were synt.esized using sol-gel t.chnique. t.e st.uct.ral and magnet.c propert.es were invest.gat.d using X-ray diffract.on, SEM and VSM. As Ba2+ doping concent.at.on was increased, t.e st.uct.re of t.e samples changed from rhombohedral t. t.t.agonal or monoclinic. t.e st.uct.ral change might.be an import.nt.fact.r for achieving t.e ferroelect.ic propert.es in t.is mat.rial. t.e lat.ice paramet.rs were observed t. increase wit. increase in Ba2+ concent.at.on. All t.e M-H loops showed t.e ferromagnet.c behavior. Magnet.zat.on was observed t. enhance wit. increase in Ba concent.at.on. t.e enhancement.in t.e magnet.zat.on due t. Ba2+ doping may be due t. t.e replacement.of Bi3+ ions by Ba2+ which might.have result.d in t.e suppression of spiral spin st.uct.re.
