Effect of phytase superdosing, myo-inositol and available phosphorus concentrations on performance and bone mineralisation in broilers

A total of 2,376 one-day-old Ross broiler chickens were used to investigate the effect of myo-inositol(MYO) and phytase supplementation on performance and bone mineralization variables in broilers fed diets formulated to have varying concentrations of available phosphorus(P). the trial was designed as a2×2×3 factorial; with and without phytase superdosing(0 or 1,500 FtU/kg), MYO(0 or 3 g/kg), and dietary P(low, moderate or high). At 21 d, dietary phytase and MYO had no consistent benefit on bone mineralization variables. Bone ash reduced by 4.7% from the medium to low P diet(P th no effect of phytase supplementation. Superdosing improved bone P content by 6% in birds fed the low P diet, signifying an interaction between dietary P concentrations and phytase(P tary MYO addition resulted in a numerical reduction in bone ash and a significant reduction in bone strength(P t 42 d, the beneficial effect of phytase superdosing on feed intake and body weight gain was evident in the low P diet. Superdosing reduced feed conversion rate(FCR) at all P levels(P though this effect was more pronounced on the low P diet, suggesting that sufficient P being released from the phytase itself to re-phosphorylate MYO and hence improve FCR. the significant improvement in FCR was greater with superdosing than with MYO alone, and the combination led to no further improvement in FCR compared with superdosing alone, signifying a phytase and MYO interaction(P these results, it can be estimated that MYO is providing around 30% to 35% of the total response to superdosing.

this paper presents an electronic VSD （variable speed drive） for three-phase IM （induction motor） using a microcontroller. the VSD is designed for cooling applications where the 1M is coupled to a cooling fan. the drive receives temperature feedback from objects to be cooled and output a corresponding frequency to the IM. A prototype of the VSD is constructed to control a 175 W, four pole, squirrel cage three-phase IM. the heart of the control circuit is a low-cost microchip＇s PICI6F777 microcontroller which is programmed using C language to generate variable frequency SPWM （sinusoidal pulse width modulation） switching signals. these switching signals are fed to an 1GBt inverter. the VSD constructed can be switched between two modes of speed control＂ automatic temperature-controlled mode and manual user-controlled mode. Cost savings using the prototype are demonstrated.

Fourth order differential equations are considered to develop the class of methods for the numerical solution of boundary value problems. In this paper, we have discussed the regions of absolute stability of fourth order boundary value problems. Methods proposed and derived in this paper are applied to solve a fourth-order boundary value problem. Numerical results are given to illustrate the efficiency of our methods and compared with exact solution.

Due to the higher reliability and small ground space requirement, compressed GIS （gas insulated substation） has found extensive applications in urban areas and developing countries. the major parts of GIS is the gas insulated busducts, circuit breakers, isolators, etc.. the voltage withstand capability of SF6 （sulphur hexafluoride） busduct is strongly dependent on field perturbations such as those caused by conductor surface imperfections and by conducting particle contaminants which arise due to manufacturing process, mechanical vibrations, moving parts of system etc.. Contamination can create insulation problems at operating fields. An optimized design of GIS by varying the inner and outer diameter to 89 mm and 241 mm is considered for analysis and compared with a single phase enclosure with outer diameter as 152 mm and inner conductor diameter of 55 mm with aluminum and copper particles of size 10 mm in length and 0.25 mm in radius present on the enclosure. the results have been compared on the extent of particle movement for the same condition of the gas and particle geometry. Monte Carlo simulation is also carried out for determining the motion of particles in axial and radial directions. the random solid angle is changed from 1 to 0.5 degrees to take into account more smooth end profile of the particle. the simulation results have been presented and analyzed.

traditional noise reduction techniques have the drawback of generating an annoying musical noise. A new scheme for speech enhancement in high noise environment is developed by considering human auditory system masking characteristics. the new scheme considers the masking threshold of both noisy speech and the denoised one, to detect musical noise components. to make them inaudible, they are set under the noise masking threshold. the improved signal is subjected to extensive subjective and objective tests. It is ob-served that the musical noise is appreciably reduced even at very low signal to noise ratios.

In this communication we have used Bickley’s method for the construction of a sixth order spline function and apply it to solve the linear fifth order differential equations of the form yx(x)+g (x)y(x)= r(x) where g(x) and r(x) are given functions with the two different problems of different boundary conditions. the method is illustrated by applying it to solve some problems to demonstrate the application of the methods discussed.

the present method gives a detailed description for the development and validation of a simple stability indicating reverse phase liquid chromatographic method for 10-hydroxycamptothecin(10-HCtN) in the presence of its impurities namely Imp A and Imp B along with degradation products generated from forced degradation studies. the drug was subjected to stress conditions of hydrolysis (acid, base and neutral), oxidative, photolytic and thermal stress degradation. Degradation was observed when subjected to treatment with peroxides or under conditions normally used for typical acid and base hydrolysis. the drug was found to be stable under other stress conditions attempted such as photolytic and thermal. Successful separation and isolation of the drug from related impurities and degradation products formed under stress conditions was achieved on an Inertsil ODS-3V (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5 μm) column using a phosphate buffer, acetonitrile, methanol and Nanopure water. the developed HPLC method was validated with respect to specificity, linearity, accuracy, precision, sensitivity, robustness and solution stability. the assay method was found to be linear in the range of 0.16 mg/mL to 0.24 mg/mL with a correlation coefficient of 0.999 and the linearity of the impurities was established from 0.02% (LOQ) to 0.3%. Recoveries of assay and impurities were found between 99.4% and 100.3%. the developed HPLC method can be used to determine the related substances and assay determinations of 10-HCtN and also to evaluate the quality and long term stability of production samples.
