Statistical manipulation of material data was conducted for probabilistic life assessment or risk-based design and maintenance for high temperature components of power plants. to obtain the statistical distribution of material properties, dominant parameters affecting material properties are introduced into normalization of statistical variables. those parameters are hardness, chemical composition, characteristic micro structural features and so on. Creep and fatigue properties are expressed by normalized parameters and the unified statistical distributions are obtained. these probability distribution functions show good coincidence statistically with the field database of steam turbine components. It was concluded that the unified statistical baseline approach is useful for the risk management of components in power plants.

Sulfide nanocrystals and their composites have shown great potential in the thermoelectric(tE)field due to their extremely low thermal *** a solid and hollow metastable Au2S nanocrystalline has been successfully ***,we study the tE properties of this bulk Au2S by first-principles calculations and semiclassical Boltzmann transport theory,which provides the basis for its further experimental *** results indicate that the highly twofold degeneracy of the bands appears at theΓpoint in the Brillouin zone,resulting in a high Seebeck ***,Au2S exhibits an ultra-low lattice thermal conductivity(~0.88 W·m^-1·K^-1 at 700 K).At 700 K,the thermoelectric figure of merit of the optimal p-type doping is close to 1.76,which is higher than 0.8 of ZrSb at 700 K and 1.4 of Ptte at 750 *** work clearly demonstrates the advantages of Au2S as a tE material and would greatly inspire further experimental studies and verifications.

the Effects of Short-term Resistance training and Subsequent Detraining on Neuromuscular Function,Muscle Cross-Sectional Area,and Lean Mass

Purpose to examine and compare the effects of three days of dynamic constant external resistance(DCER)and isokinetic(ISOK)training and subsequent detraining on thigh muscle cross-sectional area(tMCSA)and thigh lean mass(tLM),ISOK peak torque(Pt),DCER strength,isometric force,muscle activation,and percent voluntary activation(%VA).Methods thirty-one apparently-healthy untrained men(mean±SD age=22.2±4.2 years;body mass=77.9±12.9 kg;height=173.9±5.4 cm)were randomly assigned to a DCER training group(n=11),ISOK training group(n=10)or control(CONt)group(n=10).Subjects visited the laboratory eight *** first visit was a familiarization session,the second visit was a pre-training assessment,the subsequent three visits were for unilateral training of the quadriceps(if assigned to a training group),and the last three visits were the post-training assessments conducted at three days,one week,and two weeks after training *** DCER strength increased from pre-to post-training assessment 1 in both limbs for the DCER group only,and remained elevated during post-training assessments 2 and 3(Ption,surface EMG for the biceps femoris was higher at post-training assessment 3 than at the pre-training assessment,and post-training assessments 1 and 2(Pther training-related changes were *** the primary finding of this study was that DCER strength of the trained and untrained limbs can be increased with three days of *** has important implications for injury rehabilitation,where in the initial period post-injury strength gains on an injured limb can possibly be obtained with short-term contralateral resistance training.

Nichel-phosphorus(Ni-P)coatings are deposited on mild steel by using an electroless plating *** effect of three calix[4]arene derivatives,namely tetra methyl ester-P-tertbutyl calix[4]arene(Calix1),tetra acid-P-tert-butyl calix[4]arene(Calix2)and tetra methyl P-tert-butyl-thicalix[4]arene ester(Calix3)on the deposition rate,the deposit composition,and the morphological surface was investigated and the study of growth mechanisms has delivered useful information about the surface properties of *** is found that these additives modify the deposition rate and the nickel crystallization *** fact,the Calix1 and Calix3 act as an accelerator,while Calix2 acts as an inhibitor for the nickel ***,it is shown that the chemical bath is more stable with calix[4]arene derivatives addition and the obtained deposits are compact and *** is observed also that the nickel content increases with *** the other hand,the X-ray diffraction showed that the orientation peaks are intensified at{111}in the presence of Calix2,confirming obtained results of EDAX *** cyclic voltammetry revealed that the tested additives strongly influence the cathodic process and slightly affect the hypophosphite ***,it is found that these compounds improve the anticorrosion efficiency of Ni-P coating on the mild steel substrate in 3%(mass)NaCl,where its polarization resistance increases with Calix2 and Calix3 addition.

Due to the advances of intelligent transportation system(ItSs),traffic forecasting has gained significant interest as robust traffic prediction acts as an important part in different ItSs namely traffic signal control,navigation,route mapping,*** traffic prediction model aims to predict the traffic conditions based on the past traffic *** more accurate traffic prediction,this study proposes an optimal deep learning-enabled statistical analysis *** study offers the design of optimal convolutional neural network with attention long short term memory(OCNN-ALStM)model for traffic *** proposed OCNN-ALStM technique primarily preprocesses the traffic data by the use of min-max normalization ***,OCNN-ALStM technique was executed for classifying and predicting the traffic data in real time *** enhancing the predictive outcomes of the OCNN-ALStM technique,the bird swarm algorithm(BSA)is employed to it and thereby overall efficacy of the network gets *** design of BSA for optimal hyperparameter tuning of the CNN-ALStM model shows the novelty of the *** experimental validation of the OCNNALStM technique is performed using benchmark datasets and the results are examined under several *** simulation results reported the enhanced outcomes of the OCNN-ALStM model over the recent methods under several dimensions.

Remodeling tumor Immune Microenvironment by Using Polymer-Lipid-Manganese Dioxide Nanoparticles with Radiation therapy to Boost Immune Response of Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer

Despite substantial progress in the treatment of castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC), including radiation therapy and immunotherapy alone or in combination, the response to treatment remains poor due to the hypoxic and immunosuppressive nature of the tumor microenvironment. Herein, we exploited the bioreactivity of novel polymer–lipid manganese dioxide nanoparticles (PLMDs) to remodel the tumor immune microenvironment (tIME) by increasing the local oxygen levels and extracellular pH and enhancing radiation-induced immunogenic cell death. this study demonstrated that PLMD treatment sensitized hypoxic human and murine CRPC cells to radiation, significantly increasing radiation-induced DNA double-strand breaks and ultimately cell death, which enhanced the secretion of damage-associated molecular patterns, attributable to the induction of autophagy and endoplasmic reticulum stress. Reoxygenation via PLMDs also polarized hypoxic murine RAW264.7 macrophages toward the M1 phenotype, enhancing tumor necrosis factor alpha release, and thus reducing the viability of murine CRPC tRAMP-C2 cells. In a syngeneic tRAMP-C2 tumor model, intravenous injection of PLMDs suppressed, while radiation alone enhanced recruitment of regulatory t cells and myeloid-derived suppressor cells. Pretreatment with PLMDs followed by radiation down-regulated programmed death-ligand 1 and promoted the infiltration of antitumor CD8+ t cells and M1 macrophages to tumor sites. taken together, tIME modulation by PLMDs plus radiation profoundly delayed tumor growth and prolonged median survival compared with radiation alone. these results suggest that PLMDs plus radiation is a promising treatment modality for improving therapeutic efficacy in radioresistant and immunosuppressive solid tumors.

浅水区海底隧道处于复杂波动水力环境中,既有理论研究一般只在静水环境中计入氯离子自由扩散对隧道衬砌的侵蚀作用,而较少考虑海洋波浪力对衬砌结构腐蚀的促进作用。首先采用适用于浅水区的Stokes二阶波浪理论确定了海床表面的波浪压力,基于Biot固结理论获得了隧道衬砌周围的水压响应;接着利用改进的Fick第二定律同时考虑水压和浓度梯度驱动下的氯离子扩散,并采用指数型强度劣化模型描述服役时间内衬砌混凝土的劣化效应;最后结合波浪作用下衬砌氯离子侵蚀效应进行了海底隧道衬砌承载力计算,并将理论解析解与数值模型和既有的试验结果进行了对比,获得了较好的一致性。结果表明,忽略动态波浪压力对衬砌混凝土中氯离子渗流的促进作用,将低估衬砌混凝土内部的氯离子扩散速度,随着波浪周期增加,衬砌内部氯离子侵蚀入渗的最大深度明显增大;而不考虑衬砌强度劣化效应会明显高估隧道结构的服役寿命,不利于海底隧道服役期间的安全储备。

Late Quaternary palaeoenvironmental changes documented by microfaunas and shell stable isotopes in the southern Pearl River Delta plain,South China

Ahigh resolution study of sediments,microfaunas(ostracods and foraminifers),and stable isotopes of ostracod shells from core PRD05,sampled from the Da’ao plain of the Pearl River Delta,provides new data about palaeoenvironmental changes during the Late *** basal fluvial gravelly sediments of the core,representing the lowest deposits of the Quaternary at the core site,were possibly formed prior to the transgression associated with the last interglacial *** fluvial setting changed into a marginal marine setting during the last interglacial stage,any record of calcareous fossils were destroyed by subsequent dissolution during the last glacial phase,when the upper part of the deltaic sediments experienced subaerial oxidation,indicated by a mottled clay layer in the *** postglacial sealevel rise in the South China Sea began at16,700 cal yr *** the first phase of sea-level rise(from ~16,700 to 10,100 cal yr B.P.),a swamp environment developed at the core *** ~10,100 cal yr B.P.,marine waters intruded onto the Da’ao plain and reached the core site through the Modaomen *** timing was earlier than in other parts of the Pearl River *** then,a semi-enclosed estuarine environment developed and was maintained until ~5560 cal yr *** this transgressive interval,short-term environmental fluctuations can be recognized based on microfauna and shell geochemical *** ~10,100 to 8630 cal yr B.P.,the sea-level rose,which was followed by a fall from ~8630 to 8520 cal yr *** expanded transgression occurred between ~8520 and 7900 cal yr *** time intervals from ~8520 to 8200 cal yr *** from ~8080 to 7900 cal yr *** marked by peak *** ~7900 to 5560 cal yr B.P.,the core site generally showed a reduced marine influence and enhanced freshwater input.A fluvial environment developed from ~5560 to 3100 cal yr B.P.,and was succeeded by an alluvial plain setting.

Optimization of a High Speed Spinning Disk Spindle System for Minimum RRO,NRRO,and Lightweight by Using G.A.

Law level of RRO(Repeatable Run Out),NRRO(Non Repe at able Run Out),and lightweight construction are a major trend in the high-speed HDD(Hard Disk Drive)sytem to reduce track misregestration and to achieve high track density,which lead to succeed in the ***,it is not easy to r educe RRO,NRRO,and the weight of the spinning disk spindle system efficiently because lightweight construction and or bearing stiffness changes often yields a decrease in the static and dynamic stiffness of the system,and consequently hi gh vibrations may be generated as a ***,it is of importance to e valuate in advance the accurate dynamic behavior of the high speed spinning disk spindle system of a HDD *** study introduces an optimum design of the high speed spinning disk spindle system of a HDD for minimum RRO,NRRO,and lightweight construction using a gene tic *** spinning disk,hub,and bearing components of a HDD system ar e modelled as appropriate finite elements respectively and their equations of mo tion are derived to construct the system equations of the whole spinning disk sp indle system of the HDD *** RRO and NRRO responses of the spinning disk,due to exciting forces arised from ball bearing faults and rotating unbalance,are *** the design optimation,the hub thickness,the disk thickness,bearing positio ns(or bearing span)and bearing stiffness were set as design *** uni que objective function is obtained by multiplying an appropriate weighting facto r by multi-objective functions,such as RRO,NRRO,and the total weight of HDD the *** constraints are maximum RRO limit,maximum weight linit,and the critical speed limit of the HDD spindle *** show that the RRO,NRRO,and weight are reduced by 6%,66.7%and 28%r espectively compared with the initial design of the HDD ***,thi s present study can be used for an optimum design of the spinning disk spindle s ystem of a HDD for lightweight construction
