In surface roughness measurement,if spikes are included in the primary profile,a problem occurs wherein the Gaussian filter(GF)is unable to extract the shape *** address this problem,the use of a robust filter is ***,ISO16610-31:Gaussian regression filters(GRF)only provide a single method and a few examples,and does not specify the conditions under which the primary profile can be ***,the data presented in the example on robustness in ISO16610-31 do not contain roughness *** actual roughness measurements,no primary profile exists that does not include a roughness *** the characteristics of GRFs are unknown,it is not yet clear which filter should be used for which primary profile,and this is an issue that has been raised at ISO and JIS *** addition,the establishment of filter selection guidelines is necessary at measurement ***,this paper clarifies the characteristics of GF-series filters,summarizes the points to be considered when using them,and identifies the filter that should be selected according to different *** on the results,a figure that visualizes the characteristics of filters and a flowchart regarding which filter should be used are created;these tools,to the best of the authors’knowledge,did not exist prior to this *** is believed that these results will help fulfil the needs of measuring job sites and also aid in filter selection.

this study quantified the effect of weeding frequency and weeding schedules on weeding operation time in a sugi(Cryptomeria japonica)plantation stand.A weeding operation time estimation model was developed;then the cumulative weeding operation time after six growing seasons was simulated using the developed *** developed model included weed height,relative height of weeds to sugi,and initial planting *** simulated cumulative weeding operation time decreased approximately 6%for each one-treatment decrease in weeding *** a three-treatment weeding frequency scenario,the simulated cumulative operation time when weeding was conducted during non-consecutive years was longer than that when weeding was conducted during three consecutive *** results suggest that carrying out weeding treatment during consecutive years is the more effective for reduction of weeding *** conclude that weeding schedule as well as weeding frequency must be considered for reduction of weeding operation time.

this paper used Active Radio Frequency Identification （Active RFID） technology to identify in which rooms fathers and their chitd tend to stay together and talk, and in which rooms they stay separately in seven one-child families living in Chinese urban apartment houses. the father was found to stay together with the child 0.5%-25% of the time when both father and chitd stayed at home. the use of the living room as the place in which the child stays with the father and tatks was found to be highest （five out of seven families）, fotlowed by the dining room and the child＇s room. In over half of the cases when the child stays with,the father in the living room or dining room and either of them tatk, the chitd spoke over 1.6 times more than the father. However, in the child＇s room, the child always spoke tess than the father, and the duration of the child＇s speech was less than 70% of that of the father. Findings showed that the instances in which child and father stay in different rooms fell into two groups. First, five of the seven subject fathers tended to stay in the living room, whereas the children stayed either in their room or in their parents＇ room to use the PC. Second, two fathers stayed in the studio or dining room to work, while their chitdren stayed in the living room or their own rooms. For both groups, the duration
