The aluminum based MOFs compound, MIL-96(Al), has been studied as a luminescence sensor by incorporating of Eu3+ ions, which renders the compound strong red-light emission. The as-synthesized MIL-96(Al):Eu3+ nanocrystals exhibit water dispersibility and environmental stability, which are general requirement for an ideal sensing material. The MIL-96(Al):Eu3+ nanocrystals show excellent selective detection ability on Fe3+ ions in aqueous solution with value of low detection limit 20 μM. Meanwhile, it also exhibits excellent selective detection ability on CrO42- and Cr2O72- in aqueous solution with value of low detection limit 10 and 22 μM, respectively. The results of this study show that MIL-96(Al):Eu3+ nanocrystals could be used as a multi-responsive luminescent senor for Fe3+ and Cr(Ⅵ) species in aqueous solution. The possible luminescence quenching mechanism has also been discussed.

Typical O＇-sialon-based ceramics, with a formula of Si2-xAlxOl＋xN2-x, where x was set as 0.25, were fabricated by in-situ synthesis Si3N4, Al2O3, and SiO2 powders were used as raw materials, and MgO and Y2O3 were added as sintering additives. All the samples were sintered at different temperatures under a nitrogen pressure of 0.25-0.30 MPa, and their rnicrostructure, phase content, and thermal conductivity were evaluated. The effects of O＇-sialon and β-Si3N4 on the thermal conductivity were analyzed by numerical calculation in detail. In the case of the similar porosity, the thermal conductivity of O＇-sialon-based ceramics decreased with the ratio of O＇-sialon/β-Si3N4 increasing. When the ratio was 12, the thermal conductivity of O＇-sialon ceramics sintered at 1360℃ was 1.197 W.m-1.K-1.

Metal-free graphitic carbon nitride nanomaterials have been widely applied in the medical antibacterial field owing to their high anisotropy, excellent stability,satisfactory biocompatibility, and non-toxicity. Herein, Bi/C_(3)N_(4) nanocomposites were successfully constructed by hydrothermal method followed by loading bismuth on the surface of graphite carbon nitride. Bi nanospheres were tightly combined with the layered g-C_(3)N_(4) surface to promote effective separation of photo-induced charges, which results in the Bi/C_(3)N_(4) composite material that exhibited excellent photocatalytic activity under visible light. In addition, the surface plasmon resonance characteristics of semi-metal Bi further enhanced the visible-light absorption of the Bi/C_(3)N_(4). However, excessive Bi may inhibit the light-trapping ability of Bi/C_(3)N_(4).1.0% Bi/C_(3)N_(4) demonstrates excellent bactericidal efficiency as high as 96.4% against Escherichia coli(E. coli), which is attributed to the promotion of the production of reactive oxidative *** enhanced mechanism of Bi/C_(3)N_(4) synergistically achieving enhanced photocatalytic antibacterial activity under the coupling of multiple advantages was clarified,providing theoretical guidance for its application in the field of water disinfection and antibacterial treatment.

We propose a method to improve the secret key rate of an eight-state continuous-variable quantum key distribution（CVQKD） by using a linear optics cloning machine（LOCM）. In the proposed scheme, an LOCM is exploited to compensate for the imperfections of Bob＇s apparatus, so that the generated secret key rate of the eight-state protocol could be well enhanced. We investigate the security of our proposed protocol in a finite-size scenario so as to further approach the practical value of a secret key rate. Numeric simulation shows that the LOCM with reasonable tuning gain λ and transmittance τcan effectively improve the secret key rate of eight-state CVQKD in both an asymptotic limit and a finite-size ***, we obtain the tightest bound of the secure distance by taking the finite-size effect into account, which is more practical than that obtained in the asymptotic limit.

Petrogenesis of Early Cretaceous adakitic granodiorite: Implication for a crust thickening event within the Cathaysia Block, South China

Adakitic rocks in continental settings are commonly considered to be formed by partial melting of thickened or delaminated lower crust. Investigations on this kind of rocks can provide important information about crustal evolution complementary to information from other rocks. This paper reports adakitic granodiorite of the lingxi pluton in the interior of the Cathayisa Block. LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating shows that it was formed in the late Early Cretaceous(100±1 Ma). The granodiorite has geochemical features of adakitic rocks derived from partial melting of the thickened lower crust, e.g., high SiO2(mainly ranging from 64.4 to 68.9 wt.%) and Sr(624–894 ppm) contents, Sr/Y(49.9–60.8) and La/Yb(23.4–42.8) values, low Y(10.3–17.1 ppm), Ni(5.62–11.8 ppm) and MgO(mostly from 0.86 wt.% to 1.57 wt.%) contents and weak Eu anomaly. It has initial 87Sr/86 Sr ratios of 0.7086–0.7091, εNd(t) values of.6.2 to.5.9 and zircon εHf(t) values mostly of.10.1 to.7.6. Based on the geochemical characteristics and simple modelling, it is suggested that the most likely generation mechanism of the lingxi granodiorite is partial melting of a thickened Proterozoic lower continental crust at a pressure ≥12 kbar(or crust thickness ≥40km), leaving a garnet-bearing amphibolite residue. Combining our results and previous studies of the tectonic evolution of the Cathaysia Block, we propose that the crust was thickened to over 40 km by a compressive event occurring during the late Early Cretaceous, which is supported by the observation that there is an angular unconformity between the Upper Cretaceous Series and the early Lower Cretaceous or the Jurassic rocks. After this event, the Cathaysia Block experienced a lithospheric extension and thinning probably driven by the high-angle paleo-Pacific subduction. This paper presents a p-n heterojunction photoanode based on a p-type porphyrin metal-organic framework (MOF) thin film and an n-type rutile titanium dioxide nanorod array for photoelectrochemical water splitting. The TiO2@MOF core-shell n anorod array is formed by coati ng an 8 nm thick MOF layer on a vertically aligned TiO2 nanorod array scaffold via a layer-by-layer self-assembly method. This vertically aligned core-shell nanorod array enables a long optical path length but a short path length for extraction of photogenerated minority charge carriers (holes) from TiO2 to the electrolyte. A p-n junction is formed between TiO2 and MOF, which improves the extraction of photogenerated electr ons and holes out of the TiO2 nano rods. In additi on, the MOF coati ng sign ificantly improves the efficie ncy of charge in jecti on at the photoanode/electrolyte interface. Introduction of Co(lll) into the MOF layer further enhances the charge extraction in the photoanode and improves the charge injection efficiency. As a result, the photoelectrochemical cell with the TiO2@Co-MOF nanorod array photoanode exhibits a photocurrent density of 2.93 mA/cm^2 at 1.23 V (vs. RHE), which is ~ 2.7 times the photocurrent achieved with bare T1O2 nanorod array under irradiation of an unfiltered 300 W Xe lamp with an output power density of 100 mW/cm^2.

Powered by clean energy, the hydrogen fuel production from seawater electrolysis is a sustainable green hydrogen technology, however, chlorine corrosion and correlative oxidation reactions severely erode the catalysts. Our previous work demonstrates that direct seawater electrolysis without a desalination process and strong alkali addition can be realized by introducing a hard Lewis acid oxide on the catalyst surface to capture OH−. However, the criteria for selecting Lewis acid oxides and the origin of OH− enrichment in chlorine chemistry inhibition on the catalyst surface remain unexplored. Here, we compare the ability of a series of Lewis acid oxides with different acidity constants (pKa), including MnO_(2), Fe_(2)O_(3), and Cr_(2)O_(3), to enrich OH− on the Co3O4 anode catalyst surface. Comprehensive analyses suggest that the lower pKa value of the Lewis acid oxide, the higher concentration of OH− enriched on Co3O4 surface, and the lower Cl− concentration. As established correlation among pKa of Lewis acid oxide, OH− enrichment and Cl− repulsion provide direct guidance for future design of highly active, selective and durable catalysts for natural seawater electrolysis.

Optimization of Cooling Process of Iron Ore Pellets Based on Mathematical Model and Data Mining

Cooling process of iron ore pellets in a circular cooler has great impacts on the pellet quality and systematic energy exploitation. However, multi-variables and non-visualization of this gray system is unfavorable to efficient production. Thus, the cooling process of iron ore pellets was optimized using mathematical model and data mining techniques. A mathematical model was established and validated by steady-state production data, and the results show that the calculated values coincide very well with the measured values. Based on the proposed model, effects of important process parameters on gas-pellet temperature profiles within the circular cooler were analyzed to better understand the entire cooling process. Two data mining techniques—Association Rules Induction and Clustering were also applied on the steady-state production data to obtain expertise operating rules and optimized targets. Finally, an optimized control strategy for the circular cooler was proposed and an operation guidance system was developed. The system could realize the visualization of thermal process at steady state and provide operation guidance to optimize the circular cooler.
