The last decade has witnessed a surge of interest in artificial neural network in many different areas of scientific *** the rapid expansion in the application of neural networks,few efforts have been carried out to introduce such a powerful tool into lubrication ***,this work aims to apply the physics-informed neural network(PINN)to the hydrodynamic lubrication *** 2D Reynolds equation is *** PINN is a meshless method and does not require big data for network training compared with classical *** results are consistent with those obtained by.experiments and the finite element ***,we envision that the PINN method will have great application potential in lubrication and bearing research.

Powder dusting method is the most practically useful approach for latent fingerprint development in the crime scene. Herein, a general powder dusting method has been explored for latent fingerprint development based on aggregation-induced emission luminogens(AIegens). A series of tetrapheny.ethene(TPe) derivatives with multiple diphenylamine(DPA), namely, TPe-DPA,TPe-2 DPA and TPe-4 DPA, were selected as candidates to dope with magnetic powders and applied for latent fingerprint development. After screening, the magnetic powder 3 doped with TPe-4 DPA proves to be the best, in terms of fluorescent intensity, resolution and adhesiveness. Afterwards, the magnetic powder 3 was applied for visualization of latent fingerprint on various smooth and porous substrates, including glass, stainless steel, leaf, ceram, plastic bag, lime wall, wood and paper *** details, such as island, core, termination and bifurcation, can be clearly observed for the fluorescent fingerprint images.

The analysis and design of offshore structures necessitates the consideration of wave loads. Realistic modeling of wave loads is particularly important to ensure reliable performance of these structures. Among the available methods for the modeling of the extreme significant wave height on a statistical basis, the peak over threshold method has attracted most attention. This method employs Poisson process to character- ize time-varying properties in the parameters of an extreme value distribution. In this paper, the peak over threshold method is reviewed and extended to account for subjectivity in the modeling. The freedom in selecting the threshold and the time span to separate extremes from the original time series data is incorpo- rated as imprecision in the model. This leads to an extension from random variables to random sets in the probabilistic model for the extreme significant wave height. The extended model is also applied to different periods of the sampled data to evaluate the significance of the climatic conditions on the uncertainties of the parameters.

Luminogenic molecules with aggregation-induced emission(AIe) property are free of aggregationcaused quenching and thus have great potential in the fabrication of efficient non-doped OLeDs. Herein, a series of new carbazole-substituted siloles have been synthesized and characterized. Their crystal and electronic structures, thermal stabilities, electrochemical behaviors, and photophysical properties are thoroughly investigated. These silole derivatives exhibit prominent AIe characteristics with high emission efficiencies in solid films. They can function as light-emitting layers in non-doped OLeDs,affording eminent electroluminescence efficiencies of 17.59 cd/A, 12.55 Im/W and 5.63%, amongst the most efficient non-doped OLeDs based on fluorescent emitters, indicating their promising applications in OLeDs.

Soy.ean is an important cash crop and its productivity is significantly hampered by salt stress. High salt imposes negative impacts on growth, nodulation, agronomy traits, seed quality and quantity, and thus reduces the y.eld of soy.ean. To cope with salt stress, soy.ean has developed several tolerance mechanisms, including：（i） maintenance of ion homeostasis; （ii） adjustment in response to osmotic stress; （iii） restoration of osmotic balance; and （iv） other metabolic and structural adaptations. The regulatory network for abiotic stress responses in higher plants has been studied extensively in model plants such as Arabidopsis thaliana. Some homologous components involved in salt stress responses have been identified in soy.ean. In this review, we tried to integrate the relevant works on soy.ean and proposes a working model to describe its salt stress responses at the molecular level.

The inflection point is an important feature of sigmoidal height-diameter(H-D)*** is often cited as one of the properties favoring sigmoidal model ***,there are very few studies analyzing the inflection points of H-D *** goals of this study were to theoretically and empirically.examine the behaviors of inflection points of six common H-D models with a regional *** six models were the Wykoff(WyK),Schumacher(SCH),Curtis(CUR),HossfeldⅣ(HOS),von Bertalanffy-Richards(VBR),and Gompertz(GPZ)*** models were first fitted in their base forms with tree species as random effects and were then expanded to include functional traits and spatial *** distributions of the estimated inflection points were similar between the two-parameter models WyK,SCH,and CUR,but were different between the threeparameter models HOS,VBR,and *** produced some of the largest inflection *** and VBR produced concave H-D curves without inflection points for 12.7%and 39.7%of the tree *** species or decreasing shade tolerance resulted in larger inflection *** trends in the estimated inflection points of HOS and VBR were entirely opposite across the ***,HOS could produce concave H-D curves for portions of the *** on the studied behaviors,the choice between two-parameter models may not *** recommend comparing seve ral three-parameter model forms for consistency in estimated inflection points before deciding on *** sigmoidal models to have inflection points does not necessarily mean that they will produce fitted curves with *** study highlights the need to integrate analysis of inflection points into modeling H-D relationships.

excessive acute inflammatory response in coronavirus-induced disease 2019(COVID-19)patients results in multiple organ injury.especially acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS),contributing to a high mortality of the disease[1,2].More evidence showed that corticosteroid,an immunomodulatory agent,reduces both the need of invasive mechanical ventilation and lowers the mortality of severe COVID-19 ***,its optimal dose and therapeutic duration is still *** ReCOVeRy trial revealed that using corticosteroid up to 10 days reduced the mortality of hospitalized COVID-19 patients[3]and a finding also upheld by a meta-analysis by Cano et al.[4].To the best of our knowledge,currently,there is no study.evaluating disease progression after discontinuation of corticosteroid treatment in COVID-19 patients with ARDS.
