We assessed the global incidence,mortality,and disability-adjusted life years(DALYs)associated with various liver diseases,including alcohol-related liver disease(ALD),hepatitis B/C virus infections(hBV or hCV),liver cancer,metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease(MASLD),and other chronic liver diseases,from the 2019 Global Burden of Disease ***,we analyzed the global trends in hepatology research and drug *** 2000 to 2019,prevalence rates increased for ALD,MASLD and other liver diseases,while they decreased for hBV,hCV,and liver *** with a high socio-demographic index(SDI)exhibited the lowest mortality rates and *** burden of liver diseases varied due to factors like sex and *** nine representative countries,MASLD,along with hepatobiliary cancer,showed highest increase in funding in hepatology ***,the major research categories in hepatology papers from 2000 to 2019 were cancer,pathobiology,and *** United States(U.S.)was at the forefront of hepatology research,with China gradually increasing its influence over *** worldwide are increasingly focusing on studying the communication between the liver and other organs,while underestimating the research on ***,hCV,and MASLD were the primary diseases targeted for therapeutic development in clinical ***,the proportion of new drugs approved for the treatment of liver diseases was relatively low among all newly approved drugs in the U.S.,China,Japan,and the European ***,there were no approved drug for the treatment of ALD in the world.

high-quality control of receiver functions using a capsule neural network

The Red Sea-Gulf of Suez-Cairo-Alexandria Clysmic-Trend in northern Egypt is the main earthquake zone in the country, with a moderate-to-high seismic hazard and a history of significant earthquakes caused by rifting and active faulting. To improve our understanding of the tectonic and seismic processes in this area, more comprehensive imaging of the crustal structure is required. This can be achieved by increasing the number of receiver functions (RFs) recorded by the seismic stations in northern Egypt and the southeastern Mediterranean. Data handling and processing should also be automated to increase process efficiency. In this study, we developed a capsule neural network for automated selection of RFs. The model was trained on a dataset containing RFs (both selected and unselected) from five broadband stations in northern Egypt. Stations SLM, SIWA, KOT, NBNS, and NKL are located in the unstable shelf region of Egypt, where limited knowledge of the deep crustal structure is available. The proposed capsule neural network achieved an average precision of 80% on the test set. The automated selection of RFs using a capsule neural network has the potential to significantly improve the efficiency and accuracy of RF analysis, as demonstrated by the stacking test. This could lead to a better understanding of crustal structure and tectonic processes in northern Egypt and the southeastern Mediterranean.

Characteristics of Energy Fluxes and Cold Frontal Effects on Energy Exchange over a Boreal Lake

Understanding the characteristics and variations of heat exchange and evaporation of lakes is important for regional water resource management and sustainable development. Based on eddy covariance measurements over Lake Vanajavesi in southern Finland, characteristics of energy fluxes and cold frontal effects on energy exchange were investigated. The lake acted as a heat sink in spring and summer and a heat source in winter. The latent heat flux reached its minimum value in the morning and peaked in the afternoon. The diurnal variation of sensible heat flux was opposite to that of latent heat flux. Impact factors for the sensible heat flux were mainly the lake-air temperature difference and the product of lake-air temperature difference and wind speed. The latent heat flux was mainly affected by the vapor pressure deficit and the product of vapor pressure deficit and wind speed. The annual mean values of bulk transfer coefficients for momentum, heat,and water vapor were 1.98 × 10–3, 1.62 × 10–3, and 1.31 × 10–3, respectively. Bulk transfer coefficients for heat and water vapor were not equal, indicating that the parameterization of energy exchange in numerical models, where the assumption that the heat coefficient equals the water vapor coefficient needs improvement. During the ice-free season, cold fronts resulted in 28 sensible heat pulses and 17 latent heat pulses, contributing to 50.59% and 34.89% of sensible and latent heat exchange in Lake Vanajavesi. These results indicate that cold fronts significantly impact the surface energy budget and evaporation over lakes.

This experimental study assesses the effectiveness of traditional and nano-materials in enhancing the physical and mechanical properties of deteriorated sandstone from Ramesses III Temple, Karnak, Luxor, Egypt. Treatments included Nano Estel (5%), Paraloid B-72 (3%), Paraloid B-72/Nano Estel (3%/5%), and ethyl silicates. Treated samples underwent Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and physical/mechanical testing. Results show that Paraloid B-72/Nano Estel (3%/5%) yielded optimal consolidation, significantly improving sandstone’s physical and mechanical properties.

S-Factor of the ^(3)h(α,γ)^(7)Li Reaction at Astrophysical Energies

The astrophysical S-factor forα-^(3)h radiative capture is calculated at astrophysical *** construct conserved two-and three-body electromagnetic currents,using minimal substitution in the explicit momentum dependence of the two-and three-nucleon *** realistic Argonne v_(18) two-nucleon and Urbana IX or Tucson–Melbourne three-nucleon interactions are considered for *** extrapolation of results for the astrophysical S-factor at zero energy,the energy in the order of 1 keV and less is found to be S(0)=0.107(0.112)keV·b,with(without)three-body interactions in satisfactory agreement with other theoretical results and experimental data.

The photon polarization parameter of the proton-deuteron radiative capture process at thermal proton energies is calculated up to leading order(LO),using pionless effective field theory(EFT).In order to make a comparative study of this model,we compare our results for the photon polarization parameter with the realistic Argonne(AV14)and Argonne v18(AV18)modern nucleon-nucleon potentials and Urbana IX or Tucson-Melbourne three-nucleon *** theoretical description of the ^(2)h(p,γ)^(3)he reaction at thermal energies is complicated by the presence of the Coulomb *** the s-wave capture contribution to the thermal energy of this reaction is ***-body currents give small but significant contributions to some of the observables in the proton-deuteron radiative capture cross section at thermal neutron *** result is in good agreement with the available experimental data and potential models'calculation at this order.

Numerical tests of theoretical models describing ionization of h(1s) atom by linearly polarized flat pulse of laser radiation

We derive the well-known Coulomb correction factor for the Gordon-Volkov wave function describing an outgoing electron in the process of ionization in an intense laser field. Although rigorous treatment would limit its use only to laser fields much lower than the so-called barrier-suppression field, it appears that in practice the correction factor may be used also close to and even above this critical value of the laser field. We compare predictions of several analytical expressions describing ionization rate of the hydrogen atom in its ground state in the strong linearly polarized laser field. We also compare ionization probabilities obtained by integrating these ionization rates over a temporal envelope of the laser pulse with predictions based on the exact numerical solution to the time-dependent Schr ¨odinger equation.
