Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi for salinity stress: Anti-stress role and mechanisms

Salinity stress is considered one of the most harmful environmental plant stresses,as it reduces irrigated land crop production by over 20%***,it is imperative to develop salt-tolerant crops in addition to understanding various mechanisms enabling plant growth under saline stress ***,a novel biological approach that aims to address salinity stress has gained momentum,which involves the use of arbuscular mycorrhizal(Am)fungi in plant-microbe *** has been observed that most terrestrial plant root systems are colonized by Am fungi,which modulate plant growth in multiple *** such interactions,Am fungi obtain organic compounds from the host plant while providing mineral nutrients,including nitrogen,phosphorus,potassium,calcium,and sulfur,to the host *** recent decades,our understanding of the multifunctional roles played by Am fungi has been broadened and advanced,particularly regarding the mediation of mineral nutrients and the alleviation of stress(especially salt stress)in most crop *** uptake of phosphorus and augmented tolerance to salinity result in enhanced plant growth and *** evident anti-stress role of Am fungi and related mechanisms have been described separately,though they need to be analyzed and discussed ***,the present review addresses the major role of Am fungi in mitigating salt stress and their beneficial effects on plant growth and *** mechanisms employed by Am fungi to amplify the salt tolerance of host plants by increased nutrient accession(e.g.,phosphorus,nitrogen,and calcium),physiological changes(e.g.,photosynthetic efficiency,cell membrane permeability,water status,and nitrogen fixation),and biochemical changes(e.g.,the accumulation of different osmolytes such as proline and soluble sugars)are also ***,this review highlights the role of Am fungi in the Na+/H+*** plants,Am fungi inoculation increases the activities of mul

In the world of big data,it’s quite a task to organize different files based on their *** with heterogeneous data and keeping a record of every single file stored in any folder is one of the biggest problems encountered by almost every computer *** of file management related tasks will be solved if the files on any operating system are somehow categorized according to their ***,the browsing process can be performed quickly and *** research aims to design a system to automatically organize files based on their similarities in terms of *** proposed methodology is based on a novel strategy that employs the charactaristics of both supervised and unsupervised machine learning approaches for learning categories of digital files stored on any computer *** results demonstrate that the proposed architecture can effectively and efficiently address the file organization challenges using real-world user *** results suggest that the proposed system has great potential to automatically categorize almost all of the user files based on their *** proposed system is completely automated and does not require any human effort in managing the files and the task of file organization become more efficient as the number of files grows.

This article discusses the synchronization problem of singular neutral complex dynamical networks(SNCDN)with distributed delay and markovian jump parameters via pinning *** control strategies are designed to make the singular neutral complex networks *** delay-dependent synchronization criteria are derived in the form of linear matrix inequalities based on a modified Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional *** applying the Lyapunov stability theory,Jensen's inequality,Schur complement,and linear matrix inequality technique,some new delay-dependent conditions are derived to guarantee the stability of the ***,numerical examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained results.

melanoma,due to its higher mortality rate,is considered as one of the most pernicious types of skin cancers,mostly affecting the white *** has been reported a number of times and is now widely accepted,that early detection of melanoma increases the chances of the subject’s ***-aided diagnostic systems help the experts in diagnosing the skin lesion at earlier stages using machine learning *** thiswork,we propose a framework that accurately segments,and later classifies,the lesion using improved image segmentation and fusion *** proposed technique takes an image and passes it through two methods simultaneously;one is the weighted visual saliency-based method,and the second is improved HDCT based saliency *** resultant image maps are later fused using the proposed image fusion technique to generate a localized lesion *** resultant binary image is later mapped back to the RGB image and fed into the Inception-ResNet-V2 pre-trained model-trained by applying transfer *** simulation results show improved performance compared to several existing methods.

Due to unforeseen climate change,complicated chronic diseases,and mutation of viruses’hospital administration’s top challenge is to know about the Length of stay(LOS)of different diseased patients in the *** management does not exactly know when the existing patient leaves the hospital;this information could be crucial for hospital *** could allow them to take more patients for *** a result,hospitals face many problems managing available resources and new patients in getting entries for their prompt ***,a robust model needs to be designed to help hospital administration predict patients’LOS to resolve these *** this purpose,a very large-sized data(more than 2.3 million patients’data)related to New-York Hospitals patients and containing information about a wide range of diseases including Bone-marrow,Tuberculosis,Intestinal Transplant,mental illness,Leukaemia,Spinal cord injury,Trauma,Rehabilitation,Kidney and Alcoholic Patients,HIV Patients,malignant Breast disorder,Asthma,Respiratory distress syndrome,*** been analyzed to predict the *** selected six machine learning(mL)models named:multiple linear regression(mLR),Lasso regression(LR),Ridge regression(RR),Decision tree regression(DTR),Extreme gradient boosting regression(XGBR),and Random Forest regression(RFR).The selected models’predictive performance was checked using R square andmean square error(mSE)as the performance evaluation *** results revealed the superior predictive performance of the RFRmodel,both in terms of RS score(92%)and mSE score(5),among all selected *** Exploratory data analysis(edA),we conclude that maximumstay was between 0 to 5 days with the meantime of each patient 5.3 days and more than 50 years old patients spent more days in the *** on the average LOS,results revealed that the patients with diagnoses related to birth complications spent more days in the hospital than other *** finding coul

Screening of field pea (Pisum sativum) selections for their reactions to root-knot nematode (meloidogyne incognita)

Pot studies were carried out to evaluate the reactions of 23 selections of field pea （Pisum sativum） against meloidogyne incognita （2000 freshly hatched juveniles （J2）/pot）. Experiment was conducted under greenhouse conditions （（24.7±3） ℃ and （62±7）% RH） and terminated 45 d after inoculation. The roots of all the selections were assessed to determine root-knot indices （RKI） on a 0-4 scale. Out of 23 selections HFP-990713, Pant P-25, and HFP-0129 were resistant; Pant P-2005, NDP-2 and Pant P-42 were tolerant; LFP-305, HFP-8909, HFP-4, HUP-31, HFP-0128, Pant P-31, Pant P-40, LFP-363, and HFP-0118 were moderately resistant; HFP-0110, HUDP-28, HUDP-15, HUDP-27, HUP-30, HUP-2 and HUDP-26 were moderately susceptible; and only Ambika was susceptible to m. incognita. It was observed that reproduction of nematode was favored on tolerant and susceptible cultivars but inhibited on resistant ones. Strong negative correlation was observed between the total fresh and dry plant weights and the root-knot index. The selection Pant P-42 showed highest tolerance among all the selections tested and can be recommended for field trials, whereas, selection Ambika showed highest susceptibility and should be avoided.

Cryptosporidium parvum oocyst directed assembly of gold nanoparticles and graphene oxide

Understanding the interactions between inorganic nanomaterials and biological species is an important topic for surface and environmental chemistry. In this work, we systematically studied the oocysts of Cryptosporidium pa r v u m as a model protozoan parasite and its interaction with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and graphene oxide (GO). The as-prepared citrate-capped AuNPs adsorb strongly on the oocysts leading to a vivid color change. The adsorption of the AuNPs was confirmed by transmission electron microscopy. Heat treatment fully inhibited the color change, indicating a large change of surface chemistry of the oocysts that can be probed by the AuNPs. Adding proteases such as trypsin and proteinase K partially inhibited the color change. DNA-capped AuNPs, on the other hand, could not be adsorbed by the oocysts. GO was found to wrap around the oocysts forming a conformal shell reflecting the shape of the oocysts. Both citratecapped AuNPs and GO compromised the membrane integrity of the oocysts as indicated by the propidium iodide staining experiment, and they may be potentially used for inactivating the oocysts. This is the first example of using nanomaterials to probe the surface of the oocysts, and it suggests the possibility of using such organisms to template the assembly of nanomaterials.
