Mapping cloud computing in university e-governance system

Purpose–The purpose of this paper is to propose a model to map the on-premise computing system of the university with cloud computing for achieving an effective and reliable university e-governance(e-gov)***/methodology/approach–The proposed model incorporates the university’s internal e-gov system with cloud computing in order to achieve better reliability,accessibility and availability of e-gov services while keeping the recurring expenditure *** model has been implemented(and tested on a university e-gov system)in the University of Kashmir(UOK);case study of this implementation has been chosen as the research methodology to discuss and demonstrate the proposed ***–According to the results based on practical implementation,the proposed model is ideal for e-governed systems as it provided adequate cost savings and high availability(HA)with operational ease,apart from continuing to have the necessary security in place to maintain confidential information such as student details,grades,*** implications–The implication of this study is to achieve HA and to reduce the cost from using external clouds,mapping internal IT servers of the university with the external cloud computing ***/value–Because no established mapping model for universities has been provided for effective,low-cost,highly available university e-gov system,the proposed mapping model through this paper closes this gap and provides guidelines to implement a hybrid-mapped e-gov model for universities while keeping the recurring expenditure on cloud computing *** paper provides the perceptions of its adoption at UOK for achieving high reliability,accessibility and uptime of its e-gov applications while keeping the recurring expenditure on cloud computing minimal.

Diffusion Based Channel Gains Estimation in WsN Using Fractional Order strategies

In this study,it is proposed that the diffusion least mean square(LMs)algorithm can be improved by applying the fractional order signal processing *** of Caputo’s fractional derivatives are considered in the optimization of cost *** is suggested to derive a fractional order variant of the diffusion LMs *** applicability is tested for the estimation of channel parameters in a distributed environment consisting of randomly distributed sensors communicating through wireless *** topology of the network is selected such that a smaller number of nodes are *** the network,a random sleep strategy is followed to conserve the transmission power at the *** proposed fractional ordermodified diffusionLMs algorithms are applied in the two configurations of combine-then-adapt and *** average squared error performance of the proposed algorithms along with its traditional counterparts are evaluated for the estimation of the Rayleigh channel *** proof of convergence is provided showing that the addition of the nonlinear term resulting from fractional derivatives helps adjusts the autocorrelation matrix in such a way that the spread of its eigenvalues *** increases the convergence as well as the steady state response even for the larger step *** results are shown for different number of nodes and fractional *** simulation results establish that the accuracy of the proposed scheme is far better than its classical counterparts,therefore,helps better solves the channel gains estimation problem in a distributed wireless *** algorithm has the potential to be applied in other applications related to learning and adaptation.

Melanoma,due to its higher mortality rate,is considered as one of the most pernicious types of skin cancers,mostly affecting the white *** has been reported a number of times and is now widely accepted,that early detection of melanoma increases the chances of the subject’s ***-aided diagnostic systems help the experts in diagnosing the skin lesion at earlier stages using machine learning *** thiswork,we propose a framework that accurately segments,and later classifies,the lesion using improved image segmentation and fusion *** proposed technique takes an image and passes it through two methods simultaneously;one is the weighted visual saliency-based method,and the second is improved HDCT based saliency *** resultant image maps are later fused using the proposed image fusion technique to generate a localized lesion *** resultant binary image is later mapped back to the RGB image and fed into the Inception-ResNet-V2 pre-trained model-trained by applying transfer *** simulation results show improved performance compared to several existing methods.

scheduling a sports tournament is a complex optimization problem,which requires a large number of hard constraints to *** the availability of several such constraints in the literature,there remains a gap sincemost of the new sports events pose their own unique set of requirements,and demand novel *** talking of the strictly time bound events,ensuring fairness between the different teams in terms of their rest days,traveling,and the number of successive games they play,becomes a difficult task to resolve,and demands *** this work,we present a similar situation with a recently played sports event,where a suboptimal schedule favored some of the sides more than the *** introduce various competitive parameters to draw a fairness comparison between the sides and propose a weighting criterion to point out the sides that enjoyed this schedule more than the ***,we use root mean squared error between an ideal schedule and the actual ones for each side to determine unfairness in the distribution of rest days across their entire *** latter is crucial,since successively playing a large number of games may lead to sportsmen burnout,which must be prevented.

Parametic Model for Optimization of Battery Capacity and Power Transmitters of On-line Electric Vehicles in Closed/Open Environments

An on-line electric vehicle(OLEV)uses a wireless charging phenomenon,in which power transmitters are installed beneath the road and the OLEV’s battery is charged *** paper deals with the optimization of two key economic and design parameters,i.e.,the size of the battery and the power transmitters allocation.A complete model configuration of the OLEV system,including the vehicle design and power transmitter,is implemented using MATLAB/*** battery’s state of charge(sOC)rises and drops according to the vehicle’s velocity and power collection and *** mixed integer programming(MIP)model is used for cost ***,with the help of the sOC graph and MIP model,the battery size and the number of power transmitters,along with their placements,are *** proposed model is applicable to both closed and open environments as it accepts both regulated and deregulated *** test cases are performed for this *** first test case deals with regulated velocity for which we have applied the KAIsT campus OLEV’s velocity along with its 13 kWh battery size and 4 power transmitters,and then applied the suggested solution with the same velocity and route i.e.,8 power transmitters with shorter lengths and reduced battery size(3.25 kWh;one-fourth of the first case).sOC is found within limits at the end of the route,saving$1600 and validating the proposed model in this *** the second test case,we use deregulated velocity and optimize both parameters,using the same approach.

Microbes on fresh apples are closely associated with fruit disease,preservation,and quality *** into the microbial commu-nities on apples from different producing regions could reveal the microbial specificity and help disease prevention and quality *** this paper,the apple surface microbes of 44 samples from two main Chinese apple-producing regions,Bohai Bay(BHB)and the Loess Plateau(LP),were investigated by sequencing fungal internal transcribed spacer and bacterial 16s rRNA hypervariable *** and LP apples con-tained significantly different bacterial and fungal *** apples had a higher fungal diversity than LP apples.A total of 102 different fungal and bacterial taxonomies were obtained between apples from the two regions,in which 24 genera were *** apples had higher phytopathogenic fungal genera,such as Tilletiopsis,Acremonium,Candida,and Phoma,indicating the higher phytopathogenic risks of apples from the humid climate of the BHB *** apples contained more bacterial genera identified as gut microbes,indicating the potential risks of contaminating apples with foodborne pathogens in the arid environment of the LP This study highlighted the environment-oriented mi-crobial specificity on apples from two main apple-producing regions,and provided a basis for further investigation.

Classifying Misinformation of User Credibility in social Media Using supervised Learning

The growth of the internet and technology has had a significant effect on social *** information has become an important research topic due to the massive amount of misinformed content on social *** is very easy for any user to spread misinformation through the ***,misinformation is a problem for professionals,organizers,and ***,it is essential to observe the credibility and validity of the News articles being shared on social *** core challenge is to distinguish the difference between accurate and false *** studies focus on News article content,such as News titles and descriptions,which has limited their ***,there are two ordinarily agreed-upon features of misinformation:first,the title and text of an article,and second,the user *** the case of the News context,we extracted different user engagements with articles,for example,tweets,i.e.,read-only,user retweets,likes,and *** calculate user credibility and combine it with article content with the user’s *** combining both features,we used three Natural language processing(NLP)feature extraction techniques,i.e.,Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency(TF-IDF),Count-Vectorizer(CV),and Hashing-Vectorizer(HV).Then,we applied different machine learning classifiers to classify misinformation as real or ***,we used a support Vector Machine(sVM),Naive Byes(NB),Random Forest(RF),Decision Tree(DT),Gradient Boosting(GB),and K-Nearest Neighbors(KNN).The proposed method has been tested on a real-world dataset,i.e.,“fakenewsnet”.We refine the fakenewsnet dataset repository according to our required *** dataset contains 23000+articles with millions of user *** highest accuracy score is 93.4%.The proposed model achieves its highest accuracy using count vector features and a random forest *** discoveries confirmed that the proposed classifier would effectively classify misinformat
