Factors Promoting Retention of Nurses in Three Private Hospitals of Lahore: A Cross Sectional Descriptive Survey

Introduction: Pakistan has a large number of professional nurses but a higher rate of turnover contributes towards the shortage of nurses which is intensified by nurses’ immigration, lack of recruitment of new nurses and retirement of senior nurses. Aim: The study aimed at examining the factors that increase retention of nurses. Research Method: The study is descriptive cross sectional with a sample of 150 nurses including both the genders, from 3 private hospitals located in Pakistan. A convenient sampling technique was used. The data collection was done through close ended questionnaires based on 20 questions. Data collection was done quantitatively and then data was entered in SPSS. Correlation and regression tests were performed. Findings: The analysis revealed that 91.3% nurses are loyal to their hospitals but, 8.7%nurses can switch the hospital for different reasons. It was also found that the idea of leaving the job based on the intention of moving to abroad and public sector was higher than the retirement and other causes. Resultantly, enhancements in nurses’ work environments have the ability to decrease nurses’ job burnout and turnover and increase patients’ satisfaction. Recommendations: Hospital leaders should implement effective strategies to encourage nurses to continue their job by motivation, strengthening management skills within the hospital and improving a positive work environment by promoting teamwork, continuous learning, trust, respect and flexible arrangements which can lead towards achieving better ***, further studies quantitatively and qualitatively can explore more factors related to dissatisfaction of nurses. Health systems policy makers should lead by developing related strategies for the retention of nurses.

The EWMAcharts are thewell-knownmemory-type charts used formonitoring the small-to-intermediate shifts in the process parameters(location and/or dispersion).The hybrid EWMA(HEWMA)charts are enhanced version of the EWMA charts,which effectivelymonitor the process *** paper aims to develop two new uppersided HEWMAcharts for monitoring shifts in process variance,i.e.,HEWMA1 and HEWMA2 *** design structures of the proposed HEWMA1 and HEWMA2 charts are based on the concept of integrating the features of two ***1 and HEWMA2charts plotting statistics are developed using one EWMAstatistic as input for the other *** Carlo simulations method is used as a computational technique to determine the numerical results for the performance characteristics,such as average run length(ARL),median run length,and standard deviation run length(SDRL)for assessing the performance of the proposed HEWMA1 and HEWMA2 *** addition,to evaluate the overall performance of the proposed HEWMA1 and HEWMA2 charts,other numerical measures consisting of the extra quadratic loss(EQL),relative average run length(RARL),and performance comparison index(PCI)are also *** proposed HEWMA1 and HEWMA2 charts are compared to some existing charts,such as CH,CEWMA,HEWMA,AEWMAHHW1,HHW2,AIB-EWMA-I,and AIB-EWMA-II charts,on the basis aforementioned numerical *** comparison reveals that the proposed HEWMA1 and HEWMA2 charts achieve better detection ability against the existing *** the end,a real-life data application is also provided to enhance the implementation of the proposed HEWMA1 and HEWMA2 charts practically.

User authentication is one of the critical concerns of information *** tend to use strong textual passwords,but remembering complex passwords is hard as they often write it on a piece of paper or save it in their mobile *** passwords are slightly unprotected and are easily *** attacks include dictionary,shoulder surfing,and brute *** passwords overcome the shortcomings of textual passwords and are designed to aid memorability and ease of *** paper proposes a Process-based Pattern Authentication(PPA)system for Internet of Things(IoT)devices that does not require a server to maintain a static password of the login *** server stores user’s information,which they provide at the time of registration,i.e.,the R-code and the symbol,but the P-code,i.e.,the actual password,will change with every login attempt of *** this scheme,users may draw a pattern on the basis of calculation from the P-code and Rcode in the PPA pattern,and can authenticate themselves using their touch dynamic behaviors through Artificial Neural Network(ANN).The ANN is trained on touch behaviors of legitimate users reporting superior performance over the existing *** experimental purposes,PPA is implemented as a prototype on a computer system to carry out experiments for the evaluation in terms of memorability and *** experiments show that the system has an effect of 5.03%of the False Rejection Rate(FRR)and 4.36%of the False Acceptance Rate(FAR),respectively.

Numerical solution is presented for the two- dimensional flow of a micropolar fluid between two porous coaxial disks of different permeability for a range of Reynolds number Re （-300≤ Re 〈 0） and permeability parameter A （1.0≤A ≤2.0）. The main flow is superimposed by the injection at the surfaces of the two disks. Von Karman＇s similarity transformations are used to reduce the governing equations of motion to a set of non-linear coupled ordinary differential equations （ODEs） in dimensionless form. An algorithm based on the finite difference method is employed to solve these ODEs and Richardson＇s extrapolation is used to obtain higher order accuracy. The results indicate that the parameters Re and A have a strong influence on the velocity and microrotation profiles, shear stresses at the disks and the position of the viscous/shear layer. The micropolar material constants cl, c2, c3 have profound effect on microrotation as compared to their effect on streamwise and axial velocity profiles. The results of micropolar fluids are compared with the results for Newtonian fluids.

Nonparametric(distribution-free)control charts have been introduced in recent years when quality characteristics do not follow a specific *** the sample selection is prohibitively expensive,we prefer ranked-set sampling over simple random sampling because ranked set sampling-based control charts outperform simple random sampling-based control *** this study,we proposed a nonparametric homogeneously weighted moving average based on theWilcoxon signed-rank test with ranked set sampling(NPHWMARSS)control chart for detecting shifts in the process location of a continuous and symmetric *** Carlo simulations are used to obtain the run length characteristics to evaluate the performance of the proposed NPHWMARSS control *** proposed NPHWMARSS control chart’s performance is compared to that of parametric and nonparametric control *** control charts include the exponentially weighted moving average(EWMA)control chart,Wilcoxon signed-rank with simple random sampling based the nonparametric EWMA control chart,the nonparametric EWMA sign control chart,Wilcoxon signed-rank with ranked set sampling-based the nonparametric EWMA control chart,and the homogeneously weighted moving average control *** findings show that the proposed NPHWMARSS control chart performs better than its competitors,particularly for the small ***,an example is presented to demonstrate how the proposed scheme can be implemented practically.

High electron mobility transistor(HEMT)based on gallium nitride(GaN)is one of the most promising candidates for the future generation of high frequencies and high-power electronic *** research work aims at designing and characterization of enhancement-mode or normally-off GaN *** impact of variations in gate length,mole concentration,barrier variations and other important design parameters on the performance of normally-off GaN HEMT is thoroughly *** increase in the gate length causes a decrease in the drain current and transconductance,while an increase in drain current and transconductance can be achieved by increasing the concentration of aluminium(Al).For Al mole fractions of 23%,25%,and 27%,within Al gallium nitride(AlGaN)barrier,the GaN HEMT devices provide a maximum drain current of 347,408 and 474 mA/μm and a transconductance of 19,20.2,21.5 mS/μm,***,for Al mole fraction of 10%and 15%,within AlGaN buffer,these devices are observed to provide a drain current of 329 and 283 mA/μm,***,for a gate length of 2.4,3.4,and 4.4μm,the device is observed to exhibit a maximum drain current of 272,235,and 221 mA/μm and the transconductance of 16.2,14,and 12.3 mS/μm,*** is established that a maximum drain current of 997 mA/μm can be achieved with an Al concentration of 23%,and the device exhibits a steady drain current with enhanced *** observations demonstrate tremendous potential for two-dimensional electron gas(2DEG)for securing of the normally-off mode operation.A suitable setting of gate length and other design parameters is critical in preserving the normally-off mode operation while also enhancing the critical performance parameters at the same *** to the normallyon depletion-mode nature of GaN HEMT,it is usually not considered as suitable for high power levels,frequencies,and *** such settings,a negative bias is required to enter the blocking conditi
