A meta-analysis of 1-year outcomes of transcatheter versus surgical aortic valve replacement in low-risk patients with severe aortic stenosis

Background Transcatheter aortic valve replacement(TAVR)for the treatment symptomatic severe aortic stenosis(AS)is indicated in patients with intermediate or higher surgical *** trials showed TAVR,and surgical aortic valve replacement(SAVR)perform similarly at 1-year for the composite outcomes of mortality,stroke and *** performed a comprehensive meta-analysis to compare individual outcomes at 1-year for TAVR compared to SAVR in low-risk *** Pub med,Embase,and Cochrane central were searched for all the randomized controlled trials(RCTs)that reported 1-year comparative outcomes of TAVR and surgical aortic valve replacement(SAVR).Our conclusions are based upon the random-effects model using Der Simonian-Laird *** Data from 4 trials and 2887 randomized patients showed that TAVR had lower rates of all-cause mortality,cardiovascular mortality,and atrial fibrillation compared to SAVR at 1-year follow-up(Ph a significantly higher risk of permanent pacemaker implantation and moderate-severe paravalvular leak(Phe latest randomised trial data demonstrates that in short-term,TAVR is safe and effective in reducing all-cause mortality or *** follow-up of RCTs is needed to determine the durability of clinical benefits in TAVR over SAVR in low-risk patients.

A rapid, efficient, and facile synthesis of an assortment of C-2 substituted imidazopyrazines has been achieved by utilizing the palladium catalyzed Suzuki cross-coupling of 2-bromo-1h-imidazo[4,5-b]pyrazine with various boronic acids under microwave irradiation. The utilization of（A-^（ta）phos）_2PdCl_2 as a catalyst in combination with Cs F as base and DmE-h_2O（4：1） as the solvent system at 100℃ procured the diaryls in acceptable to excellent yields. Prominent features of this developed methodology include short reaction times, fewer side products, and exceptional tolerance to a wide variety of functional groups.

LC-mS/mS method for Determination of Colistin in human Plasma: Validation and Stability Studies

A simple and reliable high performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-mS/mS) assay for the determination of colistin A and colistin B in human plasma was developed and validated. Clarithromycin was used as an internal standard (IS). Plasma extraction was performed using C-18 cartridges and methanol containing 0.1% formic acid. Analysis was performed using Atlantis dC18 (2.1 × 100 mm, 3 μm) column at room temperature and a mobile phase of 0.2% formic acid in acetonitrile and water (50:50, v:v), delivered at a flow rate of 0.2 ml/minute. Eluent was detected in the positive ion mode using electrospray ionization at the following transitions of mass to charge (m/z): colistin A, 585.6 → 101.4;colistin B, 578.7 → 101.3;and IS, 748.6 → 158.4. No interference by components of blank plasma or commonly used drugs was observed. The relationship between colistin A colistin B concentrations and their corresponding peak height ratios to the IS was linear over the range of 0.05 - 10 μg/ml. Inter-day coefficient of variation and bias were, respectively, ≤11.5% and −3.0 to 6.0 for colistin A and ≤9.9 and −4.7 to 3.0 for colistin B. mean extraction recovery of colistin A, colistin B, and the IS were 97%, 94%, and 97%, respectively. The method was applied to assess the stability of colistin A and colistin B in processed samples (24 hr. at room temperature, 48 hours at −20°C) and unprocessed samples (24 hr. at room temperature, 8 weeks at −20°C) and after three cycles of freeze and thaw found to be ≥87%.

Nanodiamond films deposited at moderate temperature on pure titanium substrate pretreated by ultrasonic scratching in diamond powder suspension

Nanocrystalline diamond （NCD） film deposition on pure titanium and Ti alloys is extraordinarily difficult because of the high diffusion coefficient of carbon in Ti, the large mismatch in their thermal expansion coefficients, the complex nature of the interlayer formed during diamond deposition, and the difficulty to achieve very high nucleation density. In this investigation, NCD films were successfully deposited on pure Ti substrate by using a novel substrate pretreatment of ultrasonic scratching in a diamond powder-ethanol suspension and by a two-step process at moderate temperature. It was shown that by scratching with a 30-μm diamond suspension for 1 h, followed by a 10-h diamond deposition, a continuous NCD film was obtained with an average grain size of about 200 nm. Detailed experimental results on the preparation, characterization, and successful deposition of the NCD films on Ti were discussed.

Integration of ID and 3D modeling schemes to establish the Farewell Formation as a self-sourced reservoir in Kupe Field, Taranaki Basin, New Zealand

Along with conventional methods,this paper proposed a method in which ID and 3D models are integrated to identify the self-sourced reservoir potential of the Farewell Formation in the Kupe Gas Field within the Taranaki Basin,New *** rock characteristics were evaluated at both field and basin scales by investigating source rock maturity,type of organic matter,and hydrocarbon generation potential by rock pyrolysis,using Rock-Eval 2 and *** ID thermal and burial history model established the rate of sedimentation and thermal history of the Kupe 4 *** characterization at field-scale was determined by seismic interpretation,well log analysis,and 3D structural and petrophysical *** sediments of the Farewell Formation contain types Ⅱ-Ⅲ(oil/gas prone)and type Ⅲ(gas prone)and have fair-to-excellent generation *** oxygen and hydrogen indices ranged from 3 to 476 mg C0_(2)/g TOC and 26 to 356 mg hC/g TOC,respectively,whereas the thermal maturity determined by vitrinite reflectance values ranged between 0.3%and 0.72%,indicating that the Farewell Formation is in immature-to-mature hydrocarbon generation ***,Farewell Formation was verified to be a good source ***,structural interpretations demonstrated the structural complexity of an extensional and contractional regime within the reservoir *** faults indicated a good reservoir property there with a trapping mechanism as well as migration paths.A well-log-based petrophysical analysis established the presence of up to 70%hydrocarbon saturation within the pore spaces of Farewell *** 3D models confirmed that the Farewell Formation has significant sand zones and hydrocarbon-saturated zones,thereby proving its very good reservoir *** has been proved that the ID and 3D structural schemes,integrated with geological techniques,was vital in identifying the Kupe Field as a self-sourced reservoir.

Construction of S-scheme mnO_(2)@CdS heterojunction with core–shell structure as h_(2)-production photocatalyst

Artificial photosynthesis is deemed as an efficient protocol for transforming abundant solar energy into valuable fuel. In this paper, the well-defined one-dimensional(1D) core–shell mnO_(2)@CdS hybrids were constructed by employing mnO_(2) nanotubes and CdS nanoparticles as nano-building blocks via a chemical coprecipitation route. The rationally designed core–shell structure provided an intimate heterojunction interface between the CdS shell and mnO_(2) core. All the mnO_(2)@CdS core–shell nanocomposites possess higher h_(2) evolution rate through visible light irradiation contrary to pristine CdS, and the optimal mnO_(2)@CdS hybrid exhibits the utmost h_(2) evolution rate of 3.94 mmol·g^(-1)·h^(-1), which is2.8-fold higher compared with that of CdS. Appertaining to XPS and mott-Schottky(m-S) analysis, such enhanced photocatalytic h_(2) generation of mnO_(2)@CdS heterojunction was ascribed to an S-scheme mechanism, which suppressed the charge recombination along with a fast detachment of electron–hole pairs(e^(-)–h^(+)) and significantly improved the severance of carriers, thus improved h_(2) evolution performance. These findings envision a new insight into the development of S-scheme heterostructure for photocatalytic h_(2) generation.

Larvicidal potential of selected indigenous lichens against three mosquito species–Culex quinquefasciatus, Aedes aegypti and Anopheles stephensi

In this paper, we are dealing with the study of the metric dimension of some classes of regular graphs by considering a class of bridgeless cubic graphs called the flower snarks Jn, a class of cubic convex polytopes considering the open problem raised in [m. Imran et al., families of plane graphs with constant metric dimension, Utilitas math., in press] and finally harary graphs h5,n by partially answering to an open problem proposed in Ⅱ. Javaid et al., Families of regular graphs with constant metric dimension, Utilitas math., 2012, 88： 43-57]. We prove that these classes of regular graphs have constant metric dimension.

Due to their excellent photoelectron chemical properties and suitable energy level alignment with perovskite,perylene diimide(PDI)derivatives are competitive non-fullerene electron transport material(ETm)candidates for perovskite solar cells(PSCs).however,the conjugated rigid plane structure of PDI units result in PDI-based ETms tending to form large aggregates,limiting their application and photovoltaic *** this study,to restrict aggregation and further enhance the photovoltaic performance of PDI-type ETms,two PDI-based ETms,termed PDO-PDI2(dimer)and PDO-PDI3(trimer),were constructed by introducing a phenothiazine 5,5-dioxide(PDO)core building *** research manifests that the optoelectronic properties and film formation property of PDO-PDI2 and PDO-PDI3 were deeply affected by the molecular spatial *** in PSCs,PDO-PDI3 with threedimensional spiral molecular structure,exhibits superior electron extraction and transport properties,further achieving the best PCE of 18.72%and maintaining 93%of its initial efficiency after a 720-h aging test under ambient conditions.

modeling the effects of rainfall on vehicular traffic

Traffic management and drainage system are two vital issues for any metropolitan city. Like other big cities, Karachi is also facing problems due to lack of traffic management and poor drainage system. The main objective of the study is to model the interdisciplinary issues of storm water and its effect on the traffic of Karachi. The specific objectives are （1） to calibrate and validate urban hydraulic and traffic micro-simulation models and （2） to model storm water and traffic for future conditions. This study is carried out on a 3-km section of arterial road. In this study, loose coupling of two models is done. For urban drainage, PCSWmm, and for traffic, VISSIm is used. Both models are calibrated for an existing situation on rainfall event of August 3, 2013, and then used for prediction of future scenario based on 50-year and 100-year return periods of rainfall. Sensitivity analysis of VISSIm is performed. Locations and lengths of road sections, where ponding happens for the future scenario, are identified using PCSWmm. These lengths axe then marked in VISSIm as low-speed areas, and delays are measured. Analysis of PCSWmm shows that for 100-year return period, there is maximum 0.318 ha-m （3180 cubic meters） water stored in the depressions of the road after 10 h of rainfall. Analysis of VISSIm shows that for a 100-year return period, there is a maximum delay of 35 min on NIPA to hasan Square section of University Road.
