Pros and cons of live kidney donation in prediabetics: A critical review and way forward

There is shortage of organs,including kidneys,*** with deceased kidney transplantation,there is a significant rise in live kidney *** prevalence of prediabetes(PD),including impaired fasting glucose and impaired glucose tolerance,is on the rise across the *** teams frequently come across prediabetic kidney donors for *** are at risk of diabetes,chronic kidney disease,cardiovascular events,stroke,neuropathy,retinopathy,dementia,depression and nonalcoholic liver disease along with increased risk of all-cause ***,most of the studies done in prediabetic kidney donors are retrospective in nature and have a short follow up *** is lack of prospective long-term studies to know about the real risk of complications after ***,there are variations in recommendations from various guidelines across the globe for donations in prediabetics,leading to more confusion among *** increases the responsibility of transplant teams to take appropriate decisions in the best interest of both donors and *** review focuses on pathophysiological changes of PD in kidneys,potential complications of PD,other risk factors for development of type 2 diabetes,a review of guidelines for kidney donation,the potential role of diabetes risk score and calculator in kidney donors and the way forward for the evaluation and selection of prediabetic kidney donors.

Hybrid Global Optimization Algorithm for Feature Selection

This paper proposes Parallelized Linear Time-Variant Acceleration Coefficients and Inertial Weight of Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm(PLTVACIW-PSO).Its designed has introduced the benefits of Parallel computing into the combined power of TVAC(Time-Variant Acceleration Coefficients)and IW(Inertial Weight).Proposed algorithm has been tested against linear,non-linear,traditional,andmultiswarmbased optimization *** experimental study is performed in two stages to assess the proposed *** I uses 12 recognized Standard Benchmarks methods to evaluate the comparative performance of the proposed PLTVACIWPSO *** based Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)algorithms,TVAC based PSO algorithms,traditional PSO,Genetic algorithms(GA),Differential evolution(DE),and,finally,Flower Pollination(FP)*** phase II,the proposed PLTVACIW-PSO uses the same 12 known Benchmark functions to test its performance against the baT(ba)and Multi-Swarm baT *** phase III,the proposed PLTVACIW-PSO is employed to augment the feature selection problem formedical *** experimental study shows that the planned PLTVACIW-PSO outpaces the performances of other comparable *** from the experiments shows that the PLTVACIW-PSO is capable of outlining a feature subset that is capable of enhancing the classification efficiency and gives the minimal subset of the core features.

Anti-perovskites A3SnO(A=Ca,Sr,and ba)are an important class of materials due to the emergence of Dirac cones and tiny mass gaps in their band structures originating from an intricate interplay of crystal symmetry,spin–orbit coupling,and band *** provides an exciting playground for modulating their electronic properties in the two-dimensional(2D)***,we employ first-principles density functional theory(DFT)calculations by combining dispersion-corrected SCAn+rVV10 and mBJ functionals for a comprehensive side-by-side comparison of the structural,thermodynamic,dynamical,mechanical,electronic,and thermoelectric properties of bulk and monolayer(one unit cell thick)A3SnO *** results show that 2D monolayers derived from bulk A3SnO anti-perovskites are structurally and energetically ***,Rashba-type splitting in the electronic structure of Ca3SnO and Sr3SnO monolayers is observed owing to strong spin–orbit coupling and inversion *** the other hand,monolayer ba3SnO exhibits Dirac cone at the high-symmetryΓpoint due to the domination of band *** on the predicted electronic transport properties,it is shown that inversion asymmetry plays an essential character such that the monolayers Ca3SnO and Sr3SnO outperform thermoelectric performance of their bulk counterparts.

Synthesis of Mesoporous Lanthanum Phosphate and Its Use as a novel Sorbent

Mesoporous lanthanum phosphate was synthesized by supramolecular self-assembly of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide and lanthanum nitrate following digestion in phosphoric acid. TGA-DTA, XRD and SEM were employed to study the uncalcined and calcined materials. Sorption behavior of Cr（Ⅲ）, Mn（Ⅱ）, Fe（Ⅲ）, Co（Ⅱ）, ni（Ⅱ）, Cu（Ⅱ）, Zn（Ⅱ）, Cd（Ⅱ）, ba（Ⅱ）, Hg（Ⅱ） and Pb（Ⅱ） cations was studied on such materials in water, 3 mol·L^-1 ammonia, 0.01 mol·L^-1 potassium ferrocyanide and 0.01 mol·L^-1 potassium ferricyanide solutions.

Characteristics of major and trace elements in surface sediments of the Makran Accretionary Prism, Pakistan and their implications for natural gas hydrates

To accurately identify the natural gas hydrates(nGH)in the sea area of the Makran Accretionary Prism,Pakistan,this paper presents the testing and analysis of major and trace elements in sediment samples taken from two stations(S2 and S3)in the area by the China Geological *** shown by testing results,all major elements are slightly different in content between the two stations except SiO2 and *** also applies to the trace elements that include Sr and ba primarily and Cr,ni and Zn *** can be concluded in this study that the tectonic setting of the Makran Accretionary Prism is dominated by oceanic island arc and that provenance of the Makran Accretionary Prism is dominated by felsic igneous provenance,which is at the initial weathering stage and mainly consists of *** terrigenous detritus,there are sediments possibly originating from Makran-Bela Ophiolite from the northwestern part and Murray Ridge igneous rocks from the southeastern *** V/Cr,ni/Co,and V/(V+ni)ratios indicate that sediments of the two stations are in an oxidation-suboxidation ***,the authors infer that the sedimentary environment of the sediments 3.0 m below the seafloor tends to be gradually transformed into a reduction environment by comparison with the Qiongdongnan basin in the South China Sea where nGH has been *** sediments in the Makran Accretionary Prism are rich in organic matter,with total organic carbon(TOC)content greater than 1%.According to comprehensive research,the organic matter in the sediments mainly originates from marine algae and has high TOC content,which is favorable for the formation of nGH.

Effect of nutrient Media and KnO3 on in VitroPlant Regeneration in Saraca asoca(Roxb.) Willd

Forest trees in general and those belonging to family Fabaceae in particular, have proved to be recalcitrant for propagation through tissue culture. Saraca asoca (Roxb.) Willd. (Family-Caesalpinaceae) is one such tree which has become vulnerable in nature due to over exploitation of its bark. Four nutrient media [MS (Murashige and Skoog Medium), WPM (Woody Plant Medium), B5 (Gamborg’s Medium) and nn (nitsch and nitsch Medium, 1969)] and five doses of ba (n6-Benzyladenine) (0, 2.2, 4.4, 8.8 and 17.8 μM) and their all possible interactions were tested for shoot induction and proliferation from nodal segments of 3-year-old plants. B5 medium supplemented with 2.2 μM ba was screened out as the most suitable medium shoot induction, proliferation and elongation of regenerated shoots. In order to enhance shoot number, the nitrogen source in B5 medium was modified and five strengths of KnO3 (0.25×, 0.5×, 1.0×, 1.25× and 1.5×) were tested. The different strengths of KnO3 (Potassium nitrate) had statistically significant effect on number of shoots and on 0.25× strength of KnO3, maximum number of shoots (1.92) were obtained. The modified strengths of KnO3 did not significantly affect the elongation of shoots. Effect of 5 durations (quick dip, transfer of shoots after 1 day, after 3 days, after 5 days and after 7 days) of pulse treatment with 200 μM Iba (Indole-3-butyric acid) in 1/2 strength MS liquid medium was tested. Thereafter, the shoots were transferred to semi-solid half strength MS medium supplemented with 0.2 μM Iba and 3.96 μM phloroglucinol. Pulse treatment of 5 days duration resulted in 37.5% in vitro rooting of shoots. Plantlets were hardened in soilrite soaked with half strength MS medium in culture room and later shifted to a soil mixture in shade house.

Effect of Polysaccharides Including Elicitors on Organogenesis in Protocorm-like Body （PLB） of Cymbidium insigne in vitro

Among orchids, Cymbidiums have got a very high demand in both cut flower and pot plant trade. In the present study the effect of some polysaccharides such as chitosan and nAG (n-acetyl-glucosamine) on organogenesis in protocorm-like-bodies (PLBs) of C. insigne was studied. Synthetic phytohormones such as ba and TDZ (cytokinins) and nAA (auxin) were used for comparison. PLBs of C. insigne were explanted on modified Murashige and Skoog medium supplemented with the single addition of chitosan and nAG, and the combination of ba (benzyladenine) and nAA (1-naphthaleneacetic acid) also with the combination of nAA and TDZ (thidiazuron) among different concentrations. Combination treatments of auxin and cytokinins, the highest percentage of PLBs formation was 73% and shoot formation was 67% when cultured on the medium supplemented with 1.0 mg L-1 ba without nAA. Combination treatment of nAA and TDZ, the PLBs formation was 90% and shoot formation was 60% obtained from medium supplemented with 1.0 mg L-1 of nAA + 0.1 mg L-1 TDZ. Single addition of chitosan and nAG with modified MS medium was more effective for new PLBs and shoot formation. The highest percentage of PLBs formation was 87% and shoot formation was 80% obtained from the medium supplemented with 0.1 mg L-1 chitosan. On the other hand, the PLBs formation rate reached 93% and shoot formation rate was 87% obtained from the medium supplemented with 0.01 mg L-1 nAG. Application of polysaccharides to in vitro orchid PLBs allows developing new PLBs and shoot to form plantlet without synthetic phytohormones.

An Investigation of PLD-Deposited barium Strontium Titanate (baxSr1-xTiO3) Thin Film Optical Properties

Reflectance and transmittance parameters of pulsed laser deposited barium strontium titanate (BST) were investigated using spectrophotometric methods. Three stoichiometries consisting of baxSr1-xTiO3 (x = 0.30, 0.40, 0.50) were deposited on glass substrates using oxygen partial pressures of 1.3 Pa ± 0.13 Pa at 500oC. Subsequently, the measured optical parameters were employed to determine the refractive index (n), extinction coefficient (k), optical conductivity (σ), absorption coefficient (α) and optical bandgap (Eg) using swept spectra in the ultraviolet, visible and near-infrared range (200 nm - 1100 nm) as these have not been reported in the literature. The calculated parameters for ba0.4Sr0.6TiO3 are reported in this experimental work. Minimal differences in the transmittance have been observed at the visible band edges when comparing each stoichiometry. Sharp cutoffs were observed at the bands edges and strong absorbance in the 200 nm - 300 nm band as attributed to the crystal structure based upon the oxygen partial pressure during the deposition process.

以佛手银杏幼胚为外植体,研究了不同大小幼胚在不同培养条件下,愈伤组织和胚状体的诱导发育情况。结果表明:大于3mm的幼胚,在MK+nAA1.0mg·L-1+ba1.0mg·L-1培养基上胚状体诱导率最高,达到53.6%,最多的一块愈伤组织形成多达38个胚状体。暗培养不利于胚状体的发生。在 MK培养基上添加10%椰汁对胚状体的生长发育有很好的促进作用,有34.5%生长成苗。
