The impact of Ga^(3+)and Gd^(3+)co-substitution on different types of behavior of Ni-Co nanospinel ferrites(NSFs),(Ni_(0.5)Co_(0.5))[Ga_(x)Gd_(x)Fe_(2-2x)]O_(4)(0.000≤x≤0.025),was *** were fabricated through ultrasound *** structure,composition,and spherical morphology of all products were verified by numerous characterization techniques such as X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning and transmission electron microscopes(SEM and TEM),and selected area electron diffraction(SAED).Mossbauer spectra are composed of two ferromagnetic sextets and one paramagnetic *** spectra were fitted to extract hyperfine parameters of the doped *** sublattices'hyperfine magnetic field decreases with *** isomer shift values show that the Mossbauer spectra are composed of magnetic Fe^(3+)*** magnetization measurements at variable magnetic field(M-h)were investigated via a vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM)at temperatures(T)from 300 to 10 *** NSFs disclose ferrimagnetic behavior at both 300 and 10 K at which they are soft and hard,*** determined that the remanence magnetization(M_(r)),saturation magnetization(M_(s)),and magneton number(n_(B))decrease with increasing Ga^(3+)and Gd^(3+)ions *** reduction in these values is predominantly recognized to be the impact of cation redistribution and surface spins on tetrahedral(T_(d))and octahedral(O_(h))*** the Ga^(3+)and Gd^(3+)contents increase,the coercivity(h_(c))is also found to decrease.

Promise and pitfalls of modeling grassland soil moisture in a free-air CO_(2) enrichment experiment(BioCON)using the ShAW model

Free-air carbon dioxide(CO_(2))enrichment(FACE)experiments provide an opportunity to test models of heat and water flow under novel,controlled situations and eventually allow use of these models for hypothesis *** study assesses whether the United States Department of Agriculture ShAW(Simultaneous heat and Water)numerical model of vertical one-dimensional soil water flow across the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum is able to adequately represent and explain the effects of increasing atmospheric CO_(2) on soil moisture dynamics in temperate *** in a FACE experiment,the Bio CON(Biodiversity,CO_(2),and Nitrogen)experiment,in Minnesota,USA,were compared with results of vertical soil moisture *** scenarios represented by different plots were assessed:bare,vegetated with ambient CO_(2),and similarly vegetated with high CO_(2).From the simulations,the bare plot soil was generally the wettest,followed by a drier high-CO_(2) vegetated plot,and the ambient CO_(2) plot was the *** ShAW simulations adequately reproduced the expected behavior and showed that vegetation and atmospheric CO_(2) concentration significantly affected soil moisture *** differences in modeled soil moisture amongst the plots were largely due to transpiration,which was low with high CO_(2).however,the modeled soil moisture only modestly reproduced the ***,while ShAW is able to replicate and help broadly explain soil moisture dynamics in a FACE experiment,its application for point-and time-specific simulations of soil moisture needs further *** typical design of a FACE experiment makes the experimental observations challenging to model with a one-dimensional distributed *** addition,FACE instrumentation and monitoring will need improvement in order to be a useful platform for robust model *** after this can we recommend that models such as ShAW are adequate for process interpretation of datasets from FACE exp

Diamond is a material of choice in the pursuit of integrated quantum photonic *** far,the majority of photonic devices fabricated from diamond are made from(100)-oriented *** this work,we demonstrate a methodology for the fabrication of optically active membranes from(111)-oriented *** use a liftoff technique to generate membranes,followed by chemical vapor deposition of diamond in the presence of silicon to generate homogenous silicon vacancy color centers with emission properties that are superior to those in(100)-oriented *** further use the diamond membranes to fabricate microring resonators with quality factors exceeding^*** by finite-difference time-domain calculations,we discuss the advantages of(111)-oriented structures as building blocks for quantum nanophotonic devices.

Photometric Analysis of Three Potential Red Nova Progenitors

We present photometric analysis of three bright red nova progenitor contact binary systems:ASAS J082151-0612.6,TYC 7281-269-1 and TYC *** primary components in all three systems are solar-type low mass stars with radii somewhat larger than their zero age main sequence *** secondaries,as in most contact binary systems,have radii and luminosities well above their main sequence *** three have extremely low mass ratios ranging from 0.075 to 0.097 and two have high degrees of contact,in excess of 75%.All three have mass ratios and separations below the theoretical values for orbital *** activity,a hallmark of magnetic activity and magnetic braking,considered important in mediating angular momentum loss,is also *** three systems demonstrate the O’Connell effect,and all systems require the introduction of star spots for a better light curve *** addition,we show that ASAS J082151-0612.6 and TYC 7281-269-1 have a UV color excess in the range indicating high chromospheric *** measure of potential significant magnetic activity is X-ray luminosity;TYC 7275-1968-1 and probably also TYC 7281-269-1 have X-ray luminosity well above other contact binary *** conclude that it is likely that all three are unstable and hence are potential merger candidates.

Bayesian geological and geophysical data fusion for the construction and uncertainty quantification of 3D geological models

Traditional approaches to develop 3D geological models employ a mix of quantitative and qualitative scientific techniques,which do not fully provide quantification of uncertainty in the constructed models and fail to optimally weight geological field observations against constraints from geophysical ***,using the Bayesian Obsidian software package,we develop a methodology to fuse lithostratigraphic field observations with aeromagnetic and gravity data to build a 3D model in a small(13.5 km×13.5 km)region of the Gascoyne Province,Western *** approach is validated by comparing 3D model results to independently-constrained geological maps and cross-sections produced by the Geological Survey of Western *** fusing geological field data with aeromagnetic and gravity surveys,we show that 89%of the modelled region has>95%certainty for a particular geological unit for the given model and *** boundaries between geological units are characterized by narrow regions withhich are typically 400-1000 m wide at the Earth's surface and 500-2000 m wide at ***~4 km depth,the model requires geophysical survey data with longer wavelengths(e.g.,active seismic)to constrain the deeper *** Obsidian was originally built for sedimentary basin problems,there is reasonable applicability to deformed terranes such as the Gascoyne ***,modification of the Bayesian engine to incorporate structural data will aid in developing more robust 3D ***,our results show that surface geological observations fused with geophysical survey data can yield reasonable 3D geological models with narrow uncertainty regions at the surface and shallow subsurface,which will be especially valuable for mineral exploration and the development of 3D geological models under cover.
