BACKGROUND A significant subset of individuals with epilepsy fails to respond to currently available antiepileptic drugs,resulting in heightened mortality rates,psychosocial challenges,and a diminished quality of *** factors,particularly within the SCN1A gene,and the pro-inflammatory cytokine response is important in intricating the drug resistance in idiopathic epilepsy *** this extended study,we determined the correlation of rs6732655A/T single nucleotide polymorphism to understand the causative association of SCN1A gene with epilepsy drug resistance and inflammatory *** To find the correlation of SCN1A gene rs6732655A/T polymorphism with the drug-resistant epilepsy and inflammatory *** The study enrolled 100 age and sex-matched patients of both drug-resistant and drug-responsive epilepsy *** analysed the rs6732655A/T polymorphism to study its association and causative role in drug-resistant epilepsy cases using restriction fragment length polymorphism *** diagnostic performance of interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-6,and high mobility group box 1(HMGB1)protein levels was evaluated in conjunction with genotypic outcome receiver operating characteristic *** AT and AA genotypes of rs6732655 SCN1A gene polymorphism were associated with higher risk of drug resistance *** biomarkers IL-6,IL1βand HMGB1 demonstrated diagnostic potential,with cutoff values of 4.63 pg/mL,59.52 pg/mL and 7.99 ng/mL,respectively,offering valuable tools for epilepsy ***,specific genotypes(AA and AT)were found to be linked to the elevated levels of IL-1βand IL-6 and potentially reflecting increased oxidative stress and neuro-inflammation in drug-resistant cases supporting the previous reported outcome of high inflammatory markers response in drug resistance *** SCN1A genotypes AA and AT are linked to higher drug-resistant epilepsy *** findings underscore the potential influence of inflammation

The dynamic soil-structure interaction of a shear wall embedded in elastic isotropic and homogeneous soil layers underlain by bedrock,subjected to SH waves,is modeled in the present *** soil layers consist of irregular interfaces and it has been shown that the scattering due to the roughness of the layers has significant effect on the displacement of both the foundation and the shear *** demonstrate the phenomena indirect boundary element method(IBEM)has been used on the basis of its validation in previous problems of similar *** system response is compared with the analytical solution of the same type of model for vertically propagating incident SH *** is observed that for the low frequency of wave,displacement is abruptly high,and as a result the combination of shear wall and foundation perceives *** thickness of the soil layer,mass of the shear wall,stiffness of the bedrock and the soil layers all affects the system frequency and displacement.

In this paper,we propose and analyze a fractional-order SIS epidemic model with the saturated treatment and disease *** existence and uniqueness,nonnegativity and finiteness of solutions for our suggested model have been *** equilibria of the model are found and their local and global stability analyses are also ***,the conditions for fractional backward and fractional Hopf bifurcation are also analyzed in both the commensurate and incommensurate fractional-order *** study how the control parameter and the order of the fractional derivative play role in local as well as global stability of equilibrium points and Hopf *** have demonstrated the analytical results of our proposed model system through several numerical simulations.

In this paper, we describe an SIS epidemic model where both the disease transmission rate and treatment function are considered in saturated forms. The dynamical behavior of the system is analyzed. The system is customized by considering the disease trans- mission rate and treatment control as fuzzy numbers and then fuzzy expected value of the infected individuals is determined. The fuzzy basic reproduction number is investi- gated and a threshold condition of pathogen is derived at which the system undergoes a backward bifurcation.

Effect of molasses binder on the physical and mechanical properties

Molasses was used as an alternative binder to the bentonite binder. The change in moisture absorption by pellets prepared with different iron ores and different molasses contents were investigated. Iron ore properties exerted the major effect on pellet behavior and final pellet quality. The absorbed moisture content of pellets prepared without binder, bentonite-added pellets, and molasses-added pellets were in the range of 7.72%–9.95%, 9.62%–10.84%, and 6.14%-6.69%, respectively. The wet pellet compressive strength of molasses-added pellets(43–230 N/pellet) was superior to that of bentonite-added pellets(9.47–11.92 N/pellet). The compressive strength of dried molasses-modified pellets increased to 222–394 N/pellet, which is currently the highest value achieved for dried pellets.

Study of Improved Load Sharing Methodologies for Distributed Generation Units Connected in a Microgrid

In this paper,an improved load sharing strategy is proposed for distributed generation units(DGs)connected in a *** frequency and voltage droop control result in unacceptable active and reactive power *** proposed method formulates a suitable algorithm for load sharing in the islanded *** feeder power loss and the line impedance voltage drops are minimized so as to regulate the voltage at the point of common coupling(PCC)at its nominal *** desired DG output voltages are calculated and a linear relationship is obtained between the shared active and reactive powers and the DG output voltages.A master DG controller sets the frequency which is followed by other DG *** reference powers for the DG units are adjusted so as to maintain the rated PCC *** proposed strategy is verified taking into account the DG ratings,unequal line impedance drops,feeder losses,change in system impedance and effect of DG local loads and formulates an improved power sharing strategy that also facilitates PCC voltage regulation under variable loading *** and experimental results are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Occurrence of baddeleyite（ZrO_2） which is a rare mineral has been recorded in ferromanganese nodules of Central Indian Ocean Basin（CIOB）.The mineral occurs either as independent isolated sub-rounded to elliptical grains or in clusters forming fine subhedral crystals（〈3μm） within ferromanganese concretionary growth *** mode of occurrence,texturai features and chemistry of the mineral suggest detrital and possibly an authigenic origin for *** authigenic origin it is proposed that zirconium might have got released either from the terrigenous sediments or the altered seafloor rocks forming halogen complexes and subsequently it has re-precipitated in me form of baddeleyite within manganese nodules under oxic to sub-oxic conditions.

Code Based Analysis for Object-Oriented Systems

Tile basic features of object-oriented software makes it difficult to apply traditional testing methods in objectoriented systems. Control Flow Graph （CFG） is a well-known model used for identification of independent paths in procedural software. This paper highlights the problem of constructing CFG in object-oriented systems and proposes a new model named Extended Control Flow Graph （ECFG） for code based analysis of Object-Oriented （OO） software. ECFG is a layered CFG where nodes refer to methods rather than statements. A new metrics Extended Cyclomatic Complexity （E-CC） is developed which is analogous to McCabe＇s Cyclomatic Complexity （CC） and refers to the number of independent execution paths within the OO software. The different ways in which CFG＇s of individual methods are connected in an ECFG are presented and formulas for E-CC for these different cases are proposed. Finally we have considered an example in Java and based on its ECFG, applied these cases to arrive at the E-CC of the total system as well as proposed a methodology for calculating the basis set, i.e., the set of independent paths for the OO system that will help in creation of test cases for code testing.

Modulation of autophagy for neuroprotection and functional recovery in traumatic spinal cord injury

Spinal cord injury(SCI) is a serious central nervous system trauma that leads to loss of motor and sensory functions in the SCI patients. One of the cell death mechanisms is autophagy, which is ‘self-eating' of the damaged and misfolded proteins and nucleic acids, damaged mitochondria, and other impaired organelles for recycling of cellular building blocks. Autophagy is different from all other cell death mechanisms in one important aspect that it gives the cells an opportunity to survive or demise depending on the circumstances. Autophagy is a therapeutic target for alleviation of pathogenesis in traumatic SCI. However, functions of autophagy in traumatic SCI remain controversial. Spatial and temporal patterns of activation of autophagy after traumatic SCI have been reported to be contradictory. Formation of autophagosomes following therapeutic activation or inhibition of autophagy flux is ambiguous in traumatic SCI studies. Both beneficial and harmful outcomes due to enhancement autophagy have been reported in traumatic SCI studies in preclinical models. Only further studies will make it clear whether therapeutic activation or inhibition of autophagy is beneficial in overall outcomes in preclinical models of traumatic SCI. Therapeutic enhancement of autophagy flux may digest the damaged components of the central nervous system cells for recycling and thereby facilitating functional recovery. Many studies demonstrated activation of autophagy flux and inhibition of apoptosis for neuroprotective effects in traumatic SCI. Therapeutic induction of autophagy in traumatic SCI promotes axonal regeneration, supporting another beneficial role of autophagy in traumatic SCI. In contrast, some other studies demonstrated that disruption of autophagy flux in traumatic SCI strongly correlated with neuronal death at remote location and impaired functional recovery. Chemical, physical, thermal, textural and mineralogical studies of natural iron ores from Odisha and Chhattisgarh regions, India

The chemical,physical,thermal and texture properties of iron ores from different regions of Odisha and Chhattisgarh regions,India,have been investigated to understand the compositional variations of Fe,Al2O3,SiO2,S and *** were analyzed for its susceptibility to meet the industrial requirements,for various iron manufacture *** analysis indicated that the majority of the iron ores is rich in hematite(>90wt%),poor in gangue(<4.09wt%SiO2and<3.8wt%Al2O3)and deleterious elements(P<0.065wt%and S<0.016wt%)in all these iron ores found to be *** peaks reviled that the gangue is in the form of kaolinite and quartz,and same was observed in Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy in the range of914to1034cm–*** iron ores were found to have excellent physical properties exemplify with tumbler index(82wt%–91wt%),abrasion index(1.27wt%–4.87wt%)and shatter index(0.87wt%–1.64wt%).FTIR and thermal analysis were performed to assimilate the analysis *** was found that these iron ores exhibit three endothermic reactions,which are dehydration below447K with mass loss of0.13wt%to1.7wt%,dehydroxylation at525–609K with mass loss of1.09wt%–4.49wt%and decomposition of aluminosilicates at597–850K with mass loss of0.13wt%–1.15wt%.From this study,we can conclude that due to its excellent physico-chemical characteristics,these iron ores are suitable for BF and DRI operations.
