In the recent times sodium ion batteries(SIBs)have come to the forefront as an economic and resourceful alternative to lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)for powering portable electronic devices and large-scale grid *** the specific capacity,energy density and long cycle life of batteries depend upon the performance of anode materials;their quest is the ultimate need of the *** the anode materials,the semimetallic pnictogens(As,Sb,Bi)and their compounds offer high gravimetric/volumetric capacities,but suffer from undesired volume expansion and inferior electrical ***,this paper reviews the recent progress in semimetallic pnictogens as alloying anodes and their compounds mainly as conversion-alloying *** debatable sodiation mechanisms(intercalation or alloying)have been presented with emphasis on in situ/ex situ advanced characterization methods well supported by theoretical modeling and *** reviewed electrochemical reaction mechanisms,coherent structural designs and engineering provide a vital understanding of the electrochemical processes of Na^(+) ion *** existing challenges and perspectives are also presented,and several research directions are proposed from the aspects of special morphological design,employing conductive substrates,electrolyte additives and reducing particle size for technical and commercial success of SIBs.

Carbon dots(CDs)and their composites as energy storage materials and electrocatalysts have emerged as new types of quasi-zero-dimensional carbon *** can provide a large specific surface area,numerous electron-electron hole pairs,adjustable heteroatom doping,rich surface functional groups,and so ***,the roles and functional mechanisms of CDs and their composite materials in the enhancement of electrochemical performance remain unclear and need to be understood in *** on the most recent literature,this paper comprehensively reviews the synthesis methods and applications of various categories of CDs and their composites as electrode materials of supercapacitors,lithium-ion batteries,sodium-ion batteries,and potassium-ion batteries,and as electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution,oxygen evolution,and oxygen reduction reactions in metal-air batteries,fuel cells,and water *** facilitate further research and development,several important aspects related to CDs and their composite materials are summarized with analysis of the technical challenges in practical applications and discussion of the possible development perspectives.

Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)is a very prospective sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)electrode material owing to its NASICON structure and high reversible ***,on account of its intrinsic poor electronic conductivity,Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)electrode materials confront with some significant limitations like poor cycle and rate performance which inhibit their practical applications in the energy ***,a simple two-step method has been implemented for the successful preparation of carbon-coated Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)*** synthesized sample shows a remarkable electrochemical performance of 124.1 mAh/g at 0.1 C(1 C=117.6 mA/g),retaining 78.5 mAh/g under a high rate of 200 C and a long cycle-performance(retaining 80.7 mAh/g even after 10000 cycles at 20 C),outperforming the most advanced cathode materials as reported in literatures.

Usefulness of sensor network applications in human life is increasing day by day and the concept of wireless connection promises new application areas. Sensor network can be very beneficial in saving human life from terrorist attacks causing explosion in certain areas leading to casualties. But realization of the sensor network application in explosive detection requires high scalability of the sensor network and fast transmission of the information through real time monitoring and control. In this paper a novel mechanism for explosive trace detection in any populated area by the use of mobile telephony has been described. The aim is to create a system that will assure common men, local population and above all the nation a secured environment, without disturbing their freedom of movement. It would further help the police in detection of explosives more quickly, isolation of suicide bombers, remediation of explosives manufacturing sites, and forensic and criminal investigation. To achieve this, the paper has projected an idea that can combine the strength of the mobile phones, the polymer sensor and existing cellular network. The idea is to design and embed a tiny cog-nitive radio sensor node into the mobile phone that adapts to the changing environment by analyzing the RF surroundings and adjusting the spectrum use appropriately. The system would be capable of detecting explo-sives within a defined territory. It would communicate the location of the detected explosives to the respec-tive service provider, which in turn would inform the law and enforcement agency or Police.

Effects of urea,metal ions and surfactants on the binding of baicalein with bovine serum albumin

The interaction of baicalein with bovine serum albumin（BSA） was investigated with the help of spectroscopic and molecular docking *** binding affinity of baicalein towards BSA was estimated to be in order of 10~5 M^（-1） from fluorescence quenching *** ΔH°（-5.66 ＋ 0.14 kJ/mol） and positive（ΔS°）（＋ 79.96 ＋ 0.65J/mol K） indicate the presence of electrostatic interactions along with the hydrophobic forces that result in a positive ΔS°.The hydrophobic association of baicalein with BSA diminishes in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate（SDS） due to probable hydrophobic association of baicalein with SDS,resulting in a negative ΔS°（-40.65 ＋ 0.87 J/mol K）.Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization/time of flight（MALDI-TOF） experiments indicate a 1：1 complexation between baicalein and *** unfolding and refolding phenomena of BSA were investigated in the absence and presence of baicalein using steady-state and fluorescence lifetime *** was observed that the presence of urea ruptured the non-covalent interaction between baicalein and *** presence of metal ions（Ag~＋,Mg^（2＋）,Ni^（2＋）,Mn^（2＋）,Co^（2＋） and Zn^（2＋）） increased the binding affinity of ligand towards *** changes in conformational aspects of BSA after ligand binding were also investigated using circular dichroism（CD） and Fourier transform infrared（FT-IR） spectroscopic *** selectivity studies following molecular docking analyses indicated the binding of baicalein to site 1（subdomain MA） of BSA.

The interaction of naringin with bovine serum albumin has been performed using fluorescence, circular dichroism and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy in 20 mM phosphate buffer of pH 7.0 as well as molecular docking studies. The changes in enthalpy (ΔH°) and entropy (ΔS°) of the interaction were found to be +18.73 kJ/mol and +143.64 J mol-1 K-1 respectively, indicating that the interaction of naringin with bovine serum albumin occurred mainly through hydrophobic interactions. Negative values of free energy change (ΔG°) at different temperatures point toward the spontaneity of the interaction. Circular dichroism studies reveal that the helical content of bovine serum albumin decreased after interaction with naringin. According to the F?rster non-radiative energy transfer theory the distance between Trp 213 residue and naringin was found to be 3.25 nm. Displacement studies suggest that naringin binds to site 1 (subdomain IIA) of bovine serum albumin (BSA) which was also substantiated by molecular docking studies.

The Circular Electron Positron Collider(CEPC)is a large scientific project initiated and hosted by China,fostered through extensive collaboration with international *** complex comprises four accelerators:a 30 GeV Linac,a 1.1 GeV Damping Ring,a Booster capable of achieving energies up to 180 GeV,and a Collider operating at varying energy modes(Z,W,H,and tt).The Linac and Damping Ring are situated on the surface,while the subterranean Booster and Collider are housed in a 100 km circumference underground tunnel,strategically accommodating future expansion with provisions for a potential Super Proton Proton Collider(SPPC).The CEPC primarily serves as a Higgs *** its baseline design with synchrotron radiation(SR)power of 30 MW per beam,it can achieve a luminosity of 5×10^(34)cm^(-2)s^(-1)per interaction point(IP),resulting in an integrated luminosity of 13 ab^(-1)for two IPs over a decade,producing 2.6 million Higgs *** the SR power to 50 MW per beam expands the CEPC's capability to generate 4.3 million Higgs bosons,facilitating precise measurements of Higgs coupling at sub-percent levels,exceeding the precision expected from the HL-LHC by an order of *** Technical Design Report(TDR)follows the Preliminary Conceptual Design Report(Pre-CDR,2015)and the Conceptual Design Report(CDR,2018),comprehensively detailing the machine's layout,performance metrics,physical design and analysis,technical systems design,R&D and prototyping efforts,and associated civil engineering ***,it includes a cost estimate and a preliminary construction timeline,establishing a framework for forthcoming engineering design phase and site selection *** is anticipated to begin around 2027-2028,pending government approval,with an estimated duration of 8 *** commencement of experiments and data collection could potentially be initiated in the mid-2030s.
