Determination of F,S(total),and Cl in the Calcite Rich Limestone and Marbles by WD-XRF Spectrometry

Determining the contents of F,S(total),and Cl in the studied samples of the limestone and marbles with high calcite contents was carried out by the nondestructive method of WDXRFS(Wavelength Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry).All measurements were performed in a vacuum condition using a WDXRF spectrometer S8 TIGER(Bruker AXS,Germany).The studied samples have wide ranges of F,S(total),and Cl contents,and high concentration of calcite(89.5%-99%).Main objective of this research is to develop WDXRF(WD X-ray fluorescence)technique for the determination of F,S(total),and *** calculated values of the ILD(instrumental limit of the detection)were within the interval from 3 for S(total)to 37 for F mg/*** repeatability was found to be satisfactory with the relative standard deviations lower than 7%.

Determination of C_((total))and O_((total))in the Calcite Rich Limestones by WD-XRF Spectrometry

Carbon and oxygen XRF spectra were studied using a WDXRF(WD X-ray fluorescence)spectrometer S8 TIGER(Bruker AXS,Germany).XRF spectra were obtained from the samples of the calcareous spar(CaCO3)(pure calcium carbonate),the limestones,the graphite,the microcrystalline cellulose,various organic compounds and prepared mixtures on the basis of the calcareous spar with addition of the graphite and the microcrystalline *** studied samples of the limestones are characterized by high concentrations of calcite(98.5-99%).Main objective of this investigation is to develop WDXRF technique for the determination of C(total)and O(total).Optimal instrumental measuring conditions were selected experimentally for quantitative determination of C(total)and O(total).The calculated values of the ILD(instrumental limit of the detection)vary from 0.0215%for C(total)to 0.0331%for O(total),*** obtained values of the LDM(limit of determination of the XRF method)do not exceed 0.08%for C(total)and O(total).The RSDs(relative standard deviations)values do not exceed 1.0%in all cases.

Geochemical Features of the Quaternary Deposits of the Irkutsk’s Reservoir Zone under Technogenic Conditions

The article considers the some geochemical characteristic of the loesslike and bottom sediments of the area Novo-Razvodnoy of the Irkutsk’s *** objectives of this research are to determine contents of trace elements(V,Cr,Co,Ni,Cu,Zn,Ga,Pb,As,Rb,Sr,Y,Zr,Nb,Ba,La,Ce,Nd)and major elements(CaO,TiO2,MnO,Fe2O3(total))in the investigated samples by X-ray fluorescence analysis method(XRF),to establish the trace elements distribution dynamics on the lateral profile of the area Novo-Razvodnoy,to reveal the pollution degree of the studied sediments and to calculate the specific geochemical coefficients Rb/Sr and Ca/Sr in the studied *** a result of the studies,it is established that the dried part of the coastal shallows experiences the higher technogenic load in comparison with other considered zones of the lateral *** fact was confirmed by the maximum content of As(12 mg kg^-1)exceeding by 6 times the established value of the maximum permissible concentrations in soils(MPC)and the maximum calculated values of pollution load index(PLI)and geoaccumulation index(Igeo)for arsenic.

The article considers the some features of the Quaternary sediments mineral composition of the development areas of the erosion processes on the territory of the Tunkinsk’s *** objectives of our research are to determine the entering forms of Na,Mg,Al,Si,P,S,K,Ca,Ti,Cr,Mn,Fe,Zn,Cu,Zr,and Ba in the composition of the investigated *** mineral composition was studied by the method of an electron probe X-ray spectral microanalysis(XRM)using wave spectrometers,and the method of X-ray diffraction *** localization centers of Cr,Cu,Zn,Zr,and Ba were established in the mineral composition of the studied *** content of BaO(14.42 wt%)was detected in alkali K-feldspar in the clay sediments of modern alluvial complex(aQ4).Crystallochemical formulas of different minerals were obtained.
