Enhancement of intranasalmucosal immunization of mucosal vaccines by ultrasonic treatment

The pathogens of most infectious diseases invade the host through mucosal sites,and immunization with mucosal vaccines is the best means of combating these infectious *** delivery and nasal delivery are the most common methods of mucosal ***,the delivery process is inefficient,and mucosal vaccination is ineffective because the vaccine formulation is easily and rapidly removed and has difficulty in crossing the mucosal *** this paper,we investigated whether the mucosal immune response could be enhanced by ultrasound facilitation of nasal mucosal delivery of vaccine *** this purpose,we used manganese dioxide(MnO2)as the vaccine carrier/adjuvant,coated with chitosan oligosaccharide(COS)to enhance mucosal adsorption,and further physically adsorbed model antigen ovalbumin(OVA)to construct a nanoparticulate vaccine formulation MnO2@COS@*** treatment was found to promote antigen delivery and recruitment of dendritic cells(DCs)and macrophages as well as T-cell infiltration in nasal mucosal tissues through nasal mucosal immunization *** ultrasound assistance,MnO2@COS@OVA particles promoted the maturation of DCs in vitro and in vivo and promoted the production of effector memory T cells in vivo and cytokine secretion by splenocytes in *** particular,ultrasound treatment significantly increased the levels of secretory IgA antibodies in the nasal mucosa and genital tract mucosa of experimental *** addition,the experimental data showed that the MnO2@COS@OVA particles had good biocompatibility and caused no significant damage to the nasal mucosal and vital organ *** data suggest that ultrasound treatment can promote the induction of efficient immune responses to mucosal vaccines and provide new ideas for the opening and clinical translation of mucosal vaccines.

综合能源系统作为推动能源结构绿色低碳转型的重要手段，可通过广义储能（柔性负荷和传统储能的组合）实现多能互补和高比例可再生能源消纳。然而在综合能源系统的削峰填谷能力和经济性影响方面，广义储能缺乏量化效益研究。文中构建了计及广义储能的建筑产消者社区综合能源系统，并针对广义储能提出了削峰填谷能力和经济性的评价指标。以综合能源系统日前运行调度经济性最优为目标，利用Matlab中的Yalmip工具箱和Gurobi求解器对4种不同优化情景算例进行求解，对比分析传统储能、柔性负荷和广义储能对建筑产消者社区综合能源系统的削峰填谷能力和经济性的影响。优化结果表明，采用广义储能可降低建筑产消者社区综合能源系统日运行费用的24.0%。计及广义储能的综合能源系统的削峰填谷能力和经济性优于传统储能，且柔性负荷调节的经济性相比传统储能更具优势，但在补偿价格较高的情况下，柔性负荷调节可能不如传统储能。

Antiviral activity of Basidiomycete mycelia against influenza type A(serotype H1N1) and herpes simplex virus type 2 in cell culture

In this study, we investigated the in vitro antiviral activity of the mycelia of higher mushrooms against influenza virus type A(serotype H1N1) and herpes simplex virus type 2(HSV-2), strain BH. All 10 investigated mushroom species inhibited the reproduction of influenza virus strain A/FM/1/47(H1N1) in MDCK cells reducing the infectious titer by 2.0–6.0 lg ID50. Four species, Pleurotus ostreatus, Fomes fomentarius, Auriporia aurea, and Trametes versicolor, were also determined to be effective against HSV-2 strain BH in RK-13 cells, with similar levels of inhibition as for influenza. For some of the investigated mushroom species—Pleurotus eryngii, Lyophyllum shimeji, and Flammulina velutipes—this is the first report of an anti-influenza effect. This study also reports the first data on the medicinal properties of A. aurea, including anti-influenza and antiherpetic activities. T. versicolor 353 mycelium was found to have a high therapeutic index(324.67), and may be a promising material for the pharmaceutical industry as an anti-influenza and antiherpetic agent with low toxicity. Mycelia with antiviral activity were obtained in our investigation by bioconversion of agricultural wastes(amaranth flour after CO2 extraction), which would reduce the cost of the final product and solve some ecological problems.

Aggregation of preferences in attitude scales

The problem of decision-making when evaluating alternatives according to several quality criteria is considered. Information is used about the pairwise comparison of alternatives by criteria: how many times one alternative is preferable to the other. The criteriamay have nonuniform scales. The method to form preferences matrices for representing numerical estimates of alternatives in attitude scales is proposed. The properties ofthe constructed relation are investigated. The algorithms for constructing the relationwith the minimum distance from the preferences by criteria are developed. An algorithm for constructing an aggregated relation based on the summation of preferencesby criteria is developed. Aggregate relation depends on the method of specifying thedistance between the matrices of preferences. The proposed algorithms for constructing an aggregated relation can use coefficients of importance of criteria. The methodcan be applied in collective choice problems when assigning estimates to alternativesby experts. A comparison of the proposed algorithms with each other and with knowndecision-making methods is carried out. The software system of multi-criteria choiceis developed. The task of choosing start-up projects for the purpose of investing by aventure fund has been solved.

Biostratigraphy versus isotope geochronology: Testing the Urals island arc model

Formation of the Urals volcanic-hosted massive sulphide(VHMS) deposits is considered to be related with the intra-oceanic stage of island arc(s) development in the Upper Ordoviciane Middle Devonian based on the biostratigraphic record of ore-hosting sedimentary rocks. However, the direct Re-Os dating of four known VHMS systems in the Urals gives significantly younger Re-Os isochron ages ranging from355 ± 15 Ma up to 366 ± 2 Ma. To address this discrepancy, we performed SHRIMP U-Pb dating on zircons extracted from rhyodacites(Eifelian biostratigraphic age of 393 -388 Ma) from the footwall of the Alexandrinka VHMS deposit which has a Re-Os isochron age of sulphides of 355 ± 15 *** ^(206) Pb/^(238) U mean age of 374 ± 3 Ma(MSWD ? 1.4 and probability ? 0.11) is considered to be the crystallisation age of the host volcanic rock. This age is ca. 15 Ma younger than the Eifelian(393 -388 Ma)biostratigraphic age and overlaps the Frasniane Famennian boundary(372 ± 2 Ma), characterised by the final stages of Magnitogorsk Arc e East European continent collision. Such an inconsistency with geochronological age may be due to a reburial of conodonts during resedimentation as a result of erosion of older rocks in younger sedimentary sequences.

Morphology versus DNA barcoding： two sides of the same coin. A case study of Ceutorhynchus erysimi and C. contractus identification

Genotyping of 2 well-known weevil species from the genus Ceutorhynchus （Coleoptera： Curculionidae） distributed in west Palearctic, C. erysimi and C. contractus, revealed phenotype versus genotype inconsistencies in a set of 56 specimens （25 C. erysimi and 31 C. contractus） collected from 25 locations in Serbia and Montenegro. An analysis of the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit I gene （CO1）, widely used as a barcoding region, and a nuclear gene, elongation factor-v （EF-1α）, revealed stable genetic divergence among these species. The average uncorrected pairwise distances for the CO1 and EF-1α genes were 3.8%, and 1.3%, respectively, indicating 2 genetically well-segregated species. However, the genetic data were not congruent with the phenotypic characteristics of the studied specimens. In the first place, C. erysimi genotypes were attached to specimens with phenotypic characteristics of C. contractus. Species-specific PCR-RFLP assays for the barcoding gene COIwere applied for the molecular identification of 101 additional specimens of both morphospecies （33 C. erysimi and 68 C. contractus） and were found to confirm this incongruity. The discrepancy between the genetic and morphological data raises the question of the accuracy of using a barcoding approach, as it may result in misleading conclusions about the taxonomic position of the studied organism. Additionally, the typological species concept shows considerable weakness when genetic data are not supported with phenotypic characteristics as in case of asymmetric introgression, which may cause certain problems, especially in applied studies such as biological control programs in which the biological properties of the studied organisms are the main focus.
