Ominous lung cavity “Tambourine sign”

Mucinous adenocarcinoma represents a rare subtype of adenocarcinoma of the lung, which is frequently invasive and has a poorer prognosis. Of its wide range of imaging appearances, air-space consolidation is the most frequent pattern while cavitary form has only rarely been reported. Despite imaging advancements, the differentiation of benign and malignant cavitary lung lesions sometimes remains imperfect. We propose "Tambourine" sign on computed tomography to raise the suspicion of mucinous adenocarcinoma in a lung cavity, under appropriate clinical settings. The sign indicates an irregular cavity with undistorted prominent thick walled bronchioles within the wall and draping along thereby resembling the musical instrument "tambourine". Adjacent ground glass and internal septations may also be seen.

MODELING THE ROLE OF DISSOLVED OXYGEN- DEPENDENT BACTERIA ON BIODEGRADATION OF ORGANIC POLLUTANTS

In this paper, a nonlinear mathematical model is proposed and analyzed to study the role of dissolved oxygen （DO）-dependent bacteria on biodegradation of one or two organic pollutant（s） in a water body. In the case of two organic pollutant（s）, it is assumed that the one is fast degrading and the other is slow degrading and both are discharged into the water body from outside with constant rates. The density of bacteria is assumed to follow logistic model and its growth increases due to biodegradation of one or two organic pollutant（s） as well as with the increase in the concentration of DO. The model is analyzed using the stability theory of differential equations and by simulation. The model analysis shows that the concentration（s） of one or both organic pollutant（s） decrease（s） as the density of bacteria increases. It is noted that for very large density of bacteria, the organic pollutant（s） may be removed ahnost completely from the water body. It is found that simulation analysis confirms the analytical results. The results obtained in this paper are in line with the experimental observations published in literature.

Let m ≥ 2 be any natural number and let be a finite non-chain ring, where and q is a prime power congruent to 1 modulo (m-1). In this paper we study duadic codes over the ring and their extensions. A Gray map from to is defined which preserves self duality of linear codes. As a consequence self-dual, formally self-dual and self-orthogonal codes over are constructed. Some examples are also given to illustrate this.

BACKGROUND Q fever myocarditis is a rare disease manifestation of Q fever infection caused by Coxiella *** is associated with significant morbidity and mortality if left *** studies have reported myocarditis in patients with acute Q *** present the first case of chronic myocarditis in an end-stage heart failure patient with chronic Q fever *** SUMMARY A 69-year-old male was admitted with dyspnea on exertion,hypotension and bilateral lower extremity edema for a few *** has a past medical history of ischemic cardiomyopathy with left ventricular ejection fraction of 25%,implantable cardioverter defibrillator in place,bioprosthetic aortic valve and mitral valve *** continued to have shortness of breath despite diuresis along with low grade *** infectious work up came back *** further questioning,the patient was found to have close contact with farm animals and the recurrent fevers prompted the work-up for Q fever.Q fever serologies and cardiac positron emission tomography confirmed the diagnosis of chronic Q fever *** was then successfully treated with doxycycline and hydroxychloroquine for 18 *** Chronic Q fever myocarditis,if left untreated,carries a poor *** should be kept in differentials,especially in patients with recurrent fevers and contact with farm animals.

Polyadic Cyclic Codes over a Non-Chain Ring

Let f(u) and g(v) be two polynomials of degree k and l respectively, not both linear which split into distinct linear factors over Fq. Let be a finite commutative non-chain ring. In this paper, we study polyadic codes and their extensions over the ring R. We give examples of some polyadic codes which are optimal with respect to Griesmer type bound for rings. A Gray map is defined from which preserves duality. The Gray images of polyadic codes and their extensions over the ring R lead to construction of self-dual, isodual, self-orthogonal and complementary dual (LCD) codes over Fq. Some examples are also given to illustrate this.
