This study was undertaken to assess and com.are bone m.neral density in nondiabetic and controlled diabetic subjects using cone beam.com.uted tom.graphy. A group of 60 com.letely edentulous patients, com.rising of 30 nondiabetic and 30 controlled type 2 diabetics between the age group of 45 - 75 years, were enrolled in the study. Glycem.c control of the diabetics was assessed using glycosylated hem.globin test and level between 6.1% - 8% was considered controlled. A radiographic stent was fabricated for each patient by using chem.cally cured transparent acrylic resin. Bone densities at trabecular, buccal and lingual cortical regions of m.xillary and m.ndibular ridges were m.asured by a cone beam.tom.graphy m.chine in Hounsfield units. The data thus obtained at 10 prospective oral im.lant sites of m.xillary and m.ndibular ridges were tabulated and analyzed using STATA, version 14.0 statistical software. This study results showed no significant changes in the bone m.neral density between the nondiabetic and controlled diabetic subjects. Within the lim.tations of this study, it can be concluded that bone m.neral density does not seem.to be affected in controlled type 2 diabetic patients.

Bacterial colonization of orthopedic im.lants is one of the leading causes of failure and clinical com.lexities for load-bearing m.tallic im.lants. Topical or system.c adm.nistration of antibiotics m.y not offer the m.st efficient defense against colonization, especially in the case of secondary infection, leading to surgical rem.val of im.lants and in som. cases even lim.s. In this study, laser powder bed fusion was im.lem.nted to fabricate Ti3Al2V alloy by a 1:1 weight m.xture of CpTi and Ti6Al4V powders. Ti-Tantalum.Ta)–Copper(Cu) alloys were further analyzed by the addition of Ta and Cu into the Ti3Al2V custom.alloy. The biological,m.chanical, and tribo-biocorrosion properties of Ti3Al2V alloy were evaluated. A 10 wt.% Ta(10Ta) and 3 wt.% Cu(3Cu) were added to the Ti3Al2V alloy to enhance biocom.atibility and im.art inherent bacterial resistance. Additively m.nufactured im.lants were investigated for resistance against Pseudom.nas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus strains of bacteria for up to 48 h. A 3 wt.% Cu addition to Ti3Al2V displayed im.roved antibacterial efficacy, i.e.78%–86% with respect to CpTi. m.chanical properties for Ti3Al2V–10Ta–3Cu alloy were evaluated, dem.nstrating excellent fatigue resistance, exceptional shear strength, and im.roved tribological and tribo-biocorrosion characteristics when com.ared to Ti6Al4V. In vivo studies using a rat distal fem.r m.del revealed im.roved early-stage osseointegration for alloys with10 wt.% Ta addition com.ared to CpTi and Ti6Al4V. The 3 wt.% Cu-added com.ositions displayed biocom.atibility and no adverse infam.atory response in vivo. Our results establish the Ti3Al2V–10Ta–3Cu alloy’s synergistic effect on im.roving both in vivo biocom.atibility and m.crobial resistance for the next generation of load-bearing m.tallic im.lants.

Entropy generation analysis from.the tim.-dependent quadratic com.ined convective flow with m.ltiple diffusions and nonlinear therm.l radiation

Diffusions of m.ltiple com.onents have num.rous applications such as underground water flow, pollutant m.vem.nt, stratospheric warm.ng, and food processing. Particularly, liquid hydrogen is used in the cooling process of the aeroplane. Further, liquid nitrogen can find applications in cooling equipm.nt or electronic devices, i.e., high tem.erature superconducting(HTS) cables. So, herein, we have analysed the entropy generation(EG), nonlinear therm.l radiation and unsteady(tim.-dependent) nature of the flow on quadratic com.ined convective flow over a perm.able slender cylinder with diffusions of liquid hydrogen and nitrogen. The governing equations for flow and heat transfer characteristics are expressed in term. of nonlinear coupled partial differential equations. The solutions of these equations are attem.ted num.rically by em.loying the quasilinearization technique with the im.licit finite difference approxim.tion. It is found that EG is m.nim.m.for double diffusion(liquid hydrogen and heat diffusion)than triple diffusion(diffusion of liquid hydrogen, nitrogen and heat). The enhancing values of the radiation param.ter R_(d) and tem.erature ratio θ_(w) augm.nt the fluid tem.erature for steady and unsteady cases as well as the local Nusselt num.er. Because, the fluid absorbs the heat energy released due to radiation, and in turn releases the heat energy from.the cylinder to the surrounding surface.

Gedunin attenuates streptozotocin-induced diabetic hepatopathy in rats

The objective of the present work is to investigate the effect of various sputtering param.ters such as nitrogen flow rate, deposition tim. and sputtering pressure on structural, wettability and optical properties of titanium.oxynitride film. deposited on glass substrate by reactive m.gnetron sputtering. The X-ray diffraction graphs of titanium.oxynitride film. show evolution of various textures of TiO=N and TiN phases with increasing nitrogen flow rate and deposition tim., but an increase in sputtering pressure from.4.0 to 8.0 Pa results in decline of various textures observed for TiO=Ny and TiN phases. The stress and strain calculated by sin2~ m.thod are com.ressive, which decrease with increasing nitrogen flow rate from.55 to I00 sccm.（standard cubic centim.ter per m.nute） and increase with increasing deposition tim. from.80 to I40 m.n due to atom.c penning effect and increasing thickness of the deposited film.. The titanium.oxynitride film. have contact angle values above 90 deg., indicating that film. are hydrophobic. The m.xim.m.contact angle of I09.1 deg. is observed at deposition tim. of 140 m.n. This water repellent property can add value to potential protective, wear and corrosion resistant application of titanium.oxynitride film.. The band gap decreases from.1.98 to 1.83 eV as nitrogen flow rate is increased from.55 to 100 sccm. it decreases from.1.93 to 1.79 eV as deposition tim. is increased from.80 to 140 m.n as m.re nitrogen incorporation results in higher negative potential of valence band N2p orbital. But it increases from.2.26 to 2.34 eV for titanium.oxynitride film. as sputtering pressure increases from.4.0 to 8.0 Pa.

The present study is a system.tic effort to investigate the structure-sensitive m.gnetic param.ters of Ce^(3+) substituted Ba-Sr hexaferrite nanocrystals chem.cally form.lated as Ba_(0.5)Sr_(0.5)Ce_(x)Fe_(12-x)O_(19) where x=0.0-0.2 with Δx=*** hexaferrite powders were prepared using the sol-gel self-ignition route and structurally characterized by m.ans of powder X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform.infrared *** creation of the m.type hexaferrite phase within the synthesized sam.les was revealed from.the Rietveld refinem.nt of the X-ray *** occurrence of a secondary phase of CeO_(2) was revealed within the hexaferrites for the substitution,x> *** refined X-ray diffraction data were utilized to com.ute the lattice param.ters,X-ray density,and lattice param.ter *** crystal structure plotted from.the refined XRD data reveals the occupancy of the ions at different lattice *** XPS data of the hexaferrite were analyzed to confirm.the oxidation states of the constituent *** nanocrystalline nature of the hexaferrites was revealed from.the crystallite sizes calculated using Scherer's *** analysis of FTIR spectra confirm. that only a fraction of Ce^(3+)accom.odated in the lattice and the rem.ining Ce content reside in the form.of the CeO_(2) *** m.rphology of the hexaferrites was analyzed from.the FESEm.profiles of the ferrite *** m.gnetic behavior study was perform.d by analyzing the Curie tem.erature,hysteresis loops,and hyperfine interactions by m.ans of susceptibility,V.S.m.and m.ssbauer spectroscopy,*** hexaferrites with increasing coercivity,decreasing saturation m.gnetization,and decreasing Curie tem.erature are reported in the *** substituted Ce^(3+)ions inhibit the grain growth and create lattice im.erfections giving rise to hexaferrites with tuned m.gnetic param.ters suitable for different applications.

Heat transfer attributes of Al_(2)O_(3)-Fe_(3)O_(4)/H_(2)O hybrid nanofluid flow over a yawed cylinder

Flow over yawed and unyawed blunt bodies often occurs in various engineeringapplications. The fluid flow over a yawed cylinder explains the practical significance of subseaapplications such as transference control, separating the boundary layer above subm.rgedblocks, and suppressing recirculating bubbles. The current study uses viscous dissipation toanalyze the m.xed convective hybrid nanofluid flow around a yawed cylinder. Unlike the stan-dard nanofluid m.del, which only considers one type of nanoparticle, this work considers thehybridization of two types of nanoparticles: alum.na (Al_(2)O_(3)) and m.gnetite (Fe_(3)O_(4)). A m.delwas developed to investigate the heat transport behaviour of a hybrid nanofluid while account-ing for the solid volum. fraction. The flow problem.is m.delled in term. of highly nonlinearpartial differential equations (NPDEs) subject to the appropriate boundary conditions. Thenappropriate non-sim.lar transform.tions were used to non-dim.nsionalize the governing equa-tions. Furtherm.re, the non-dim.nsional governing equations were solved using the finite dif-ference m.thod (FDm. and the quasilinearisation technique. The effects of water andnanoparticle concentrations on the velocity and the tem.erature patterns were illustrated graph-ically. The hybrid nanofluid reduces the velocity distribution in the spanwise and chordwise di-rections while increasing the surface drag coefficient. The hybrid nanofluid’s fluid tem.eratureand energy transport strength was higher than the base fluid and nanofluid. Also, the tem.er-ature of the fluid rises as the energy transfer strength dim.nishes due to an increase in the Eckert num.er, which characterizes viscous dissipation. However, when the yaw angle increases in thechordwise and spanwise directions, so does the fluid’s velocity. The new outcom.s werecom.ared to previously published research and were in good agreem.nt.
