Machine learning has proven to be one of the efficient solutions for analyzing complex data to perform identification and *** a large number of learning tools and techniques,the health section has significantly benefited from solving the diagnosis *** paper has reviewed some of the recent scientific implementations on learning-based schemes to find that existing studies of learning have mainly focused on predictive analysis with less emphasis on preprocessing and more inclination towards adopting sophisticated learning schemes that offer higher accuracy at the cost of the higher computational ***,the proposed method addresses the concern mentioned above by a novel computational learning model that emphasizes fine-tuning complex medical data and makes it suitable for learning to balance better classification performance and computational *** implementation is carried out using the MIMIC-III dataset,where the proposed system discretizes,the complete model using physician reports and furnished patient information as the first *** also prepares the data by choosing a specific tuple and its associated *** second step introduces a novel relatedness function where preprocessing is carried out using word quantization while adopting auto-encoders in deep learning followed by a novel learning-based *** outcome exhibits that the proposed system offers better classification performance in reduced processing time in comparison to existing learning schemes.

Genetic mapping of microsatellite markers was carried out in a rice DH population derived from a cross between Zaiyeqing 8 (indica) and Jingxi 17 (japonica). A total of 89 microsatellite markers, including 84 (GA)-n, 2(TCT) n, 2(ATT)-n and 1(ATC) n motifs, were integrated relatively evenly into the established genetic map of the DH population. This will facilitate the utilization of microsatillite markers in rice gene mapping and marker aided breeding.

recent work on magnetic quantum point contacts (QPCs) was discussed. Complete magnetoresistance loops across Co QPCs as small as a single atom was measured. The remarkable feature of these QPCs is the rapid oscillatory decay in magnetoresistance with the increase of contact size. In addition, stepwise or quantum magnetoresistance loops are observed, resulting from varying transmission probability of the available discrete conductance channels because the sample is cycled between the ferromagnetic (F) and antiferromagnetic (AF) aligned states. Quantized conductance combined with spin dependent transmission of electron waves gives rise to a multi-channel system with a quantum domain wall acting as a valve, i.e., a quantum spin-valve. Behavior of a few-atom QPC is built on the behavior of a single-atom QPC and hence the summarization of results as ‘single-atom spintronics’. An evolutionary trace of spin-dependent electron transmission from a single atom to bulk is provided, the requisite hallmarks of artefact-free magnetoresistance is established across a QPC – stepwise or quantum magnetoresistance loops and size dependent oscillatory magnetoresistance.

While gait recognition is the mapping of a gait sequence to an identity known to the system, gait authentication refers to the problem of identifying whether a given gait sequence belongs to the claimed identity. A typical gait authentication system starts with a feature representation such as a gait template, then proceeds to extract its features, and a transformation is ultimately applied to obtain a discriminant feature set. Almost every authentication approach in literature favours the use of Euclidean distance as a threshold to mark the boundary between a legitimate subject and an impostor. This article proposes a method that uses the posterior probability of a Bayes' classifier in place of the Euclidean distance. The proposed framework is applied to template-based gait feature representations and is evaluated using the standard CASIA-B gait database. Our study experimentally demonstrates that the Bayesian posterior probability performs significantly better than the de facto Euclidean distance approach and the cosine distance which is established in research to be the current state of the art.

Both the fruit mesocarp and the seeds of winter squash can be used for consumption,although the focus of breeding efforts varies by *** bred for fruit consumption are selected for fruit mesocarp quality traits such as carotenoid content,percent dry matter,and percent soluble solids,while these traits are essentially ignored in oilseed *** compare fruit development in these two types of squash,we sequenced the fruit transcriptome of two cultivars bred for different purposes:an acorn squash,‘Sweet rEBA’,and an oilseed pumpkin,‘Lady Godiva’.Putative metabolic pathways were developed for carotenoid,starch,and sucrose synthesis in winter squash fruit and squash homologs were identified for each of the structural genes in the *** expression,especially of known rate-limiting and branch point genes,corresponded with metabolite accumulation both across development and between the two ***,developmental regulation of metabolite genes is an important factor in winter squash fruit quality.

Acorn squash(Cucurbita pepo)is an iconic fall vegetable in the United States,known for its unique fruit shape and also prized for its culinary *** is known about the metabolism that underlies the development of fruit quality attributes such as color,sweetness,texture and nutritional qualities in acorn squash,or any other winter squash grown *** provide insight into winter squash fruit and seed development and add to the genomic resources in the Cucurbita genus,rNA sequencing was used to generate an acorn squash fruit and seed transcriptome from the cultivar Sweet rEBA at critical points throughout fruit development.141838600 high-quality paired-end Illumina reads were assembled into 55949 unigenes.85%of unigenes with predicted open reading frames had homology with previously identified genes and over 62%could be functionally *** with the watermelon and cucumber genomes provided confirmation that the unigenes are full-length and comprehensive,covering an average of 90%of the coding sequence of their homologs and 72%of the cucumber and watermelon *** candidate genes associated with carotenoid and carbohydrate metabolism were identified toward a resource for winter squash fruit quality trait *** transcriptome represents a major advance in *** genomics,providing significant new sequence information and revealing the repertoire of genes expressed throughout winter squash fruit and seed *** studies on the genetic basis of fruit quality and future breeding efforts will be enhanced by tools and insights developed from this resource.

Perhaps no region on earth presents such a confusing array of place names as does the area made up of the former provinces of Kham and Amdo in historic Tibet (Xizang). Within these areas, cities, towns, villages, mountains, lakes and other geographic features have at least two names applied to them, one Tibetan, the other Chinese. Overlying this indigenous nomenclature are the names applied by outsiders, mostly Europeans, each of whom used their native language to transliterate the names they heard or read from Tibetan or Chinese script, and names in the languages of other ethnic minorities who live within the area. Adding to the confusion are the conflicting “standards” for transliterating Tibetan and Chinese names. To resolve the inconsistencies and uncertainties of place names in this region, a multilingual gazetteer and thesaurus was prepared. The gazetteer-thesaurus was compiled to be used as a tool for correlating the often radically different names assigned to a single place or feature and to provide the geographic coordinates for each. The impetus for this project was the need to assign geographic coordinates to plant specimens collected in the area since the latter part of the 19th century up until the advent and widespread use of Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers in the 1990s. Georeferencing specimens is necessary for plotting the historical distribution of species and for more completely understanding the information contained on specimen labels. Knowing the distribution of plants is important for answering phylogenetic questions, determining local and widespread biogeographical patterns, identifying areas of unusually high diversity or endemism, and determining areas in need of special protection. The value of such a gazetteer, however, extends well beyond the field of botany. It is intended to be of use to anyone with a desire to know the nomenclatural history of places in the area and for pinpointing with a fair degree of accuracy the location

It is interesting how a random encounter can profoundly change your life. My random encounter was with a young graduate student from Michael Plewa’s laboratory. The location was the 1999 American Chemical Society (ACS) Conference, where, following his talk, this promising researcher was being unfairly criticized by a well-established scientist. I disagreed with this scientist’s criticism, and I encouraged the student how I thought his work was important.
