Synthesis and characterization of rare earth metal doped tungsten trioxide photocatalyst for degradation of Rhodamine B dye

Nowadays,it is concern for researchers that due to high recombination rate of photogenerated charge carriers in tungsten trioxide(WO_(3)) nanoparticles,the future applications are limited in the field of *** we attempt to synthesize tungsten trioxide nanoparticles with different doping concentrations of lanthanum i.e.2 wt%,4 wt%,6 wt% and 8 wt%.The synthesized samples were characterized by using various characterization techniques:X-ray diffraction(XRD),Raman spectroscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),photoluminescence spectra(PL),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),energy dispersive X-ray(EDX) and UV-Vis ***_(3) retains its monoclinic structure even after doping which was confirmed by XRD *** helps to descry functional groups present in the *** size of nanoparticles was calculated by using *** confirms the absence of any impurity in the synthesized *** spectroscopy confirms the presence of a large number of imperfections induced in the lattice of WO_(3).The rate of recombination was analyzed by photoluminescence(PL) spectroscopy and is minimum in 4 wt% doping of *** optical bandgap was calculated using UV-Vis spectroscopy and becomes narrow along with the doping ***,it is found that doping of La in WO_(3) has considerably ameliorate the photocatalytic activity by reducing rate of recombination due to the trapping of electrons by defects introduced in the *** decolorization of Rhodamine B(RhB) dye was performed and the values of c/c_0 and rate constant(k) confirm that the 4 wt% doping shows maximum degradation *** kinetic study for photodegradation of Rhodamine B was done by using various kinetic models and results show that the reaction follows first order kinetics very ***,optimum doping of lanthanum increases the decolorization ability of WO_(3) towards RhB dye.

In an era of electronics,recovering the precious metal such as gold from ever increasing piles of electronic-wastes and metal-ion infested soil has become one of the prime concerns for researchers *** mining is an attractive,economical and nonhazardous to recover gold from the low-grade auriferous ore containing waste or *** review represents the recent major biological gold retrieval methods used to bio-mine *** biomining methods discussed in this review include,bioleaching,bio-oxidation,bio-precipitation,bio-flotation,bio-flocculation,bio-sorption,bio-reduction,bioelectrometallurgical technologies and bio *** mechanism of gold biorecovery by microbes is explained in detail to explore its intracellular mechanistic,which help it withstand high concentrations of gold without causing any fatal *** challenges and future opportunities associated with each method and how they will dictate the fate of gold bio-metallurgy from metal wastes or metal infested soil bioremediation in the coming future are also *** the help of concurrent advancements in high-throughput technologies,the gold bio-exploratory methods will speed up our ways to ensure maximum gold retrieval out of such low-grade ores containing sources,while keeping the gold mining clean and more sustainable.

Massive Hemolysis Causing Renal Failure in Acute Hepatitis E Infection

Acute viral hepatitis is usually a self-limiting ***,it can lead to complications that can be life-threatening,such as acute liver *** 6 phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency in the setting of acute viral hepatitis can lead to a massive hemolysis,manifesting as acute kidney injury and markedly raised bilirubin levels;although cases are ***,we report such a *** patient had a viral hepatitis E infection and presented with kidney injury requiring *** showed very high mixed hyperbilirubinemia due to massive intravascular *** patient experienced a long,protracted course of illness,requiring renal replacement therapy with other supportive management,which led to improvement over a period of four *** case highlights the importance of recognizing associated hemolysis in a patient with viral hepatitis who presents with very high bilirubin levels or associated kidney *** patients will require aggressive supportive care with prompt fluid and electrolyte management.

Background:Walled-off pancreatic necrosis(WOPN)is an important complication of acute pancreatitis that is diagnosed by imaging modalities such as endoscopic ultrasound(EUS)or magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),which can clearly visualize necrotic *** effectiveness of abdominal ultrasound(USG)in detecting solid debris in WOPN is not ***:A total of 52 patients(37 males,mean age 38.9612.6 years)with symptomatic WOPN were prospectively studied using EUS,MRI and *** investigations were done at a mean of 11.765.5 weeks of onset of acute pancreatitis and within two ***:WOPN was detected by EUS&MRI in all patients,whereas USG could not detect it in 4(7.6%)patients(3 had predominantly solid WOPN,whereas one had air foci in WOPN).USG,MRI and EUS could detect solid debris in all patients with detectable *** and USG detected40%debris in 8 patients(15%)compared to 5(11%)patients having>40%debris on *** detected collaterals around WOPN that were not detected on USG or ***:USG can characterize the majority of WOPN,with accuracy comparable to that of EUS/*** its limitations are the inability to detect collaterals around WOPN and characterize collections with high solid content or air.

The earthquake precursors and earthquake prediction are the burning issue among the community of earth scientists and engineers. Studies of earthquake precursory phenomena since the last several decades have shown that significant geophysical and geochemical changes may occur prior to intermediate and large earthquakes （Hartmann and Levy, 2005; Yang et al, 2005; Einarsson et al, 2008; Italiano et al, 2008; Kumar et al, 2009）. Among the more intensely investigated geochemical phenomena there have been changes in the concentrations of dissolved ions and gases in groundwater as well as variations in the concentrations of crustal and mantle volatiles in ground gases.

Homotopy study of magnetohydrodynamic mixed convection nanofluid multiple slip flow and heat transfer from a vertical cylinder with entropy generation

Stimulated by thermal optimization in magnetic materials process engineering,the present investigation investigates theoretically the entropy generation in mixed convection magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)flow of an electrically-conducting nanofluid from a vertical *** mathematical model includes the effects of viscous dissipation,second order velocity slip and thermal slip,has been *** cylindrical partial differential form of the two-component non-homogenous nanofluid model has been transformed into a system of coupled ordinary differential equations by applying similarity *** effects of governing parameters with no-flux nanoparticle concentration have been examined on important quantities of ***,the dimensionless form of the entropy generation number has also been evaluated using homotopy analysis method(HAM).The present analytical results achieve good correlation with numerical results(shooting method).Entropy is found to be an increasing function of second order velocity slip,magnetic field and curvature *** is elevated with increasing curvature parameter and magnetic parameter whereas it is reduced with mixed convection *** flow is accelerated with curvature parameter but decelerated with magnetic *** transfer rate(Nusselt number)is enhanced with greater mixed convection parameter,curvature parameter and first order velocity slip parameter but reduced with increasing second order velocity slip *** generation is also increased with magnetic parameter,second order slip velocity parameter,curvature parameter,thermophoresis parameter,buoyancy parameter and Reynolds number whereas it is suppressed with first order velocity slip parameter,Brownian motion parameter and thermal slip parameter.

Status of an MWth integrated gasification fuel cell powergeneration system in China

Abstract Here,we provide a status update of an integrated gasification fuel cell(IGFC)power-generation system being developed at the National Institute of Clean-and-Low-Carbon in China at the megawatt thermal(MWth)*** system is designed to use coal as fuel to produce syngas as a first step,similar to that employed for the integrated gasification combined ***,the solid-oxide fuel-cell(SOFC)system is used to convert chemical energy to electricity directly through an electrochemical reaction without *** system leads to higher efficiency as compared with that from a traditional coal-fired power *** unreacted fuel in the SOFC system is transported to an oxygencombustor to be converted to steam and carbon dioxide(CO_(2)).Through a heat-recovery system,the steam is condensed and removed,and CO_(2) is enriched and captured for sequestration or *** economic analyses for a typical IGFC system was performed and the results were compared with those for a supercritical pulverized coal-fired power *** SOFC stacks selected for IGFC development were tested and qualified under hydrogen and simulated coal syngas *** results using SOFC stacks and thermodynamic analyses indicated that the control of hydrogen/CO ratio of syngas and steam/CO ratio is important to avoid carbon deposition with the fuel pipe.A 20-kW SOFC unit is under development with design power output of 20 kW and DC efficiency of 50.41%.A 100 kW-level subsystem will consist of 6920-kW power-generation units,and the MWth IGFC system will consist of 59100 kWlevel subsystems.
