The intent of this study was to provide topical delivery of acetazolamide by preparing chitosan-STPP (sodium tripolyphosphate) nanoparticles of acetazolamide and evaluate the particle size, zeta potential, drug entrapment, particle morphology;in vitro drug release and in vivo efficacy. The particles showed sustained in vitro drug release which followed the Higuchi kinetic model. The results indicate that the nanoparticles released the drug by a combination of dissolution and diffusion. The optimised formulation was having particle size 188.46 ± 8.53 nm and zeta potential + 36.86 ± 0.70 mV. The particles were spherical with a polydispersity index of 0.22 ± 0.00. Powder X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry indicated diminished crystallinity of drug in the nanoparticle formulation. In the in vitro permeation study, the nanoparticle formulation showed elevated permeation as compared to that of drug solution with negative signs of corneal damage. In vitro mucoadhesion studies showed 90.34 ± 1.12% mucoadhesion. The in vivo studies involving ocular hypotensive activity in rabbits revealed significantly higher hypotensive activity (P < 0.05) as compared with plain drug solution with no signs of ocular irritation. The stability studies revealed that formulation was quite stable.

The investigation of low cost uncoated andcoated carbide insert in the hard turning of hardened AISID2 steel （≥55 HRC） will definitely open up a new arena asan economical alternative suitable to industrial machiningsectors. Thus, this paper reports the comparative machin-ability assessment for the hard turning of AISI D2 steel（（55 ± 1） HRC） by coated and uncoated carbide insert in adry environment. Micro hardness and abrasion tests werecarried out to assess resistance capability against wear. Theabove test results confirmed the greater wear resistanceability of AIaO3 coated carbide insert over uncoated car-bide. Based on the extensive investigation of comparativemachinability, the coated carbide insert （TiN-TiCN-A12O3）outperformed the uncoated carbide insert with regard tosurface roughness, flank wear, chip-tool interface temper-ature, and chip morphology. Abrasion and diffusion wereobserved as the principal tool wear mechanisms in theinvestigated range. The uncoated carbide failed completelydue to the severe chipping and quick dulling of the cuttingedge, which led to its unsuitability for machining hardenedsteel.

The present study focused on mathematical modeling, multi response optimization, tool life, and eco- nomical analysis in finish hard turning of AISI D2 steel （（55 4- 1） HRC） using CVD-coated carbide （TiN/TiCN/ A1203） and uncoated carbide inserts under dry environ- mental conditions. Regression methodology and the grey relational approach were implemented for modeling and multi-response optimization, respectively. Comparative economic statistics were carried out for both inserts, and the adequacy of the correlation model was verified. The experimental and predicted values for all responses were very close to each other, implying the significance of the model and indicating that the correlation coefficients were close to unity. The optimal parametric combinations for A1203 coated carbide were dl-fl-v2 （depth of cut = 0.1 mm, feed = 0.04 mm/r and cutting speed = 108 m/min）, and those for the uncoated tool were dl-（0.1 mm）-fl （0.04 mm/r）-vl （63 rn/min）. The observed tool life for the coated carbide insert was 15 times higher than that for the uncoated carbide insert, considering flank wear criteria of 0.3 mm. The chip volume after machining for the coated carbide insert was 26.14 times higher than that of the uncoated carbide insert and could be better utilized for higher material removal rate. Abrasion, diffusion, notch- ing, chipping, and built-up edge have been observed to be the principal wear mechanisms for tool life estimation. Use of the coated carbide tool reduced machining costs by about 3.55 times compared to the use of the uncoated carbide insert, and provided economic benefits in hard turning.

Background:Shifting cultivation(locally known as“jhum”)is a major driver of deforestation and loss of ecosystem services in *** developing any effective conservation of biodiversity and carbon service program,an indepth understanding to the recovery of vegetation and carbon after abandonment of jhum is *** estimated species richness,abundance and composition of trees,shrubs and herbs,carbon distribution in aboveground and belowground components along a chronosequence of jhum fallow in northeast India,and elucidated the factors affecting the recovery processes of jhum ***:Species composition and other plant community attributes,carbon storage in different pools were studied in 5 jhum fallows(<5,5-10,11-15,16-20,21-25 years old)and an old-growth *** data were subjected to linear mixed effect modeling using R-package“nlme”for identifying the important factors contributing to the recovery of vegetation and ***:Species composition varied significantly(P<0.05)between jhum fallows and old-growth *** density varied from 28 stems ha−1 in 5 years old jhum fallow to 163 stems ha−1 in old-growth *** biomass carbon in all components and soil organic carbon were significantly(P=0.01)lower in jhum fallows than in the old-growth forest except living non-woody biomass *** recovery of aboveground biomass carbon was faster during early successive years than the mid-successive jhum *** ecosystem carbon and soil organic carbon stock in the oldest jhum fallow was 33%and 62%of those in the old-growth forest,*** fallow age was found to be the most important explanatory factor in the recovery process of vegetation and carbon stock in re-growing ***:The shifting cultivation fallows gradually recovered both vegetation and carbon and are potential repository sites for biodiversity conservation,which may take much longer time to reach up to old-growth forest in northeast India.

A novel approach by introducing a statistical parameter to estimate the severity of incipient stator inter-turn short circuit(ITSC)faults in induction motors(IMs)is *** the incipient ITSC fault and its severity is challenging for several *** stator currents in the healthy and faulty cases are highly similar during the primary stage of the ***,the conventional statistical parameters resulting from the analysis of fault signals do not consistently show a systematic variation with respect to the increase in fault *** objective of this study is the early detection of incipient ITSC ***,it aims to determine the percentage of shorted turns in the faulty phase,which acts as an indicator for severe damage to the stator *** of the motor in healthy and defective cases is performed using the Clarke Concordia transform.A discrete wavelet transform is applied to the motor currents using a Daubechies-8 *** statistical parameters L1 and L2 norms are computed for the detailed *** parameters are obtained under a variety of loads and defects to acquire the most accurate and generalized features related to the *** L1 and L2 norms creates a novel statistical parameter with notable characteristics to achieve the research *** artificial neural network-based back propagation algorithm is employed as a classifier to implement the classification *** classifier output defines the percentage of defective turns with a high level of *** competency of the adopted methodology is validated via simulations and *** results confirm the merits of the proposed method,with a classification test correctness of 95.29%.

Software testing has been attracting a lot of attention for effective software *** model driven approach,Unified Modelling Language(UML)is a conceptual modelling approach for obligations and other features of the system in a model-driven *** tools interpret these models into other software artifacts such as code,test data and *** generation of test cases permits the appropriate test data to be determined that have the aptitude to ascertain the *** paper focuses on optimizing the test data obtained from UML activity and state chart diagrams by using Basic Genetic Algorithm(BGA).For generating the test cases,both diagrams were converted into their corresponding intermediate graphical forms namely,Activity Diagram Graph(ADG)and State Chart Diagram Graph(SCDG).Then both graphs will be combined to form a single graph called,Activity State Chart Diagram Graph(ASCDG).Both graphs were then joined to create a single graph known as the Activity State Chart Diagram Graph(ASCDG).Next,the ASCDG will be optimized using BGA to generate the test data.A case study involving a withdrawal from the automated teller machine(ATM)of a bank was employed to demonstrate the *** approach successfully identified defects in various ATM functions such as messaging and operation.

Renewable energy-based solar photovoltaic(PV)generation is the best alternative for conventional energy sources because of its natural abundance and environment friendly *** power extraction from the PV system plays a critical role in increasing the efficiency of the solar power generation during partial shading conditions(PSCs).Therefore,a suitable maximum power point tracking(MPPT)technique to track the maximum power point(MPP)is of high need,even under *** paper presents an organized and concise review of MPPT techniques implemented for the PV systems in literature along with recent publications on various hardware design *** classification is done into four categories,***,intelligent,optimal,and hybrid depending on the tracking algorithm utilized to track MPP under *** uniform insolation,classical methods are highly preferred as there is only one peak in the P-V ***,under PSCs,the F-V curve exhibits multiple peaks,one global maximum power point(GMPP)and remaining are local maximum power points(LMPP’s).Under the PSCs,classical methods fail to operate at GMPP and hence there is a need for more advanced MPPT *** MPPT technique has its advantages and limits,but a streamlined MPPT is drafted in numerous parameters like sensors required,hardware implementation,cost viability,tracking speed and tracking *** study provides the advancement in this area since some parameter comparison is made at the end of every classification,which might be a prominent base-rule for picking the most gainful sort of MPPT for further research.

High velocity ballistic impact deformation behaviour of Titanium/GFRP Fiber Metal Laminates(FML)has been *** single and multiple projectiles impact conditions were ***/GFRP FML targets were fabricated with addition of 5%and 10%weight percentage of boron carbide(B_(4)C)*** properties of Ti/GFRP FML targets were determined as per ASTM *** velocity ballistic experiments were conducted using Armour Piercing Projectile(APP)of diameter 7.62 mm and velocity ranging between 350 and 450 m/*** of penetration of the projectile into the target was *** deformation behaviour of Ti/GFRP targets with and without the presence of ceramic powder(B_(4)C)was investigated.“Ductile hole growth”failure mode was observed for pure GFRP target when subjected to single projectile impact whereas“plugging”failure mode was noted for Ti/GFRP *** presence of B_(4)C(5%by weight)particles has significantly improved the ballistic resistance of the Ti/GFRP FML target by offering frictional resistance to the projectile *** addition(10%by weight)of B_(4)C has reduced the ballistic performance due to *** of the targets showed‘brittle cracking’or‘fragmentation’*** compared to the published results of Aluminium(Al 1100/GFRP and Al 6061/GFRP)FMLs,Ti/GFRP FML showed lesser DoP which increases its potential application to aerospace industry.
