Bi2Fe4O9 crystalline ceramic was successfully synthesized through a soft chemical route at lower sintering temperature for analysis of photocatalytic behavior with respect to adsorption of Congo Red (CR) in the presence of UV-VIS irradiation. The single-phase formation of Bi2Fe4O9 ceramic was confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction studies and particle size observed by TEM analysis was found to be 148 ± 5 nm which reveals the crystalline nature of the materials. Additionally, the photocatalytic activity of Bi2Fe4O9 ceramic was evaluated by the degradation of Congo Red in presence of visible light. The optical band gap (Eg) of the synthesized materials was found to be 1.8 eV. It exhibited greater photocatalytic activity than other synthesized materials like BiFeO3 as well as TiO2 due to a smaller band gap (1.8 eV). Furthermore, process variables such as pH.

Ba_(0.85)Ca_(0.15)(Ti1−xZrx)O_(3)(BCTZ)ceramics with x=0.05,0.10,_(0.15),0.20,0.25,0.30 were prepared by the solid-state reaction *** of the powders was carried out at 1100°C for 4 h and the green pellets were sintered at 1400°C for 2 h.X-ray diffraction patterns of the sintered pellets showed tetragonal splitting up to x=0.10 while the mixture of the rhombohedral/cubic phase appeared at higher ZrO_(2)*** piezoelectric charge constant d33=510 pC/N and strain(S=0.103%)were measured for BCT doped by 0.10 mol ZrO_(2).Dielectric constant,remnant polarization and saturation polarization also found maxima for this *** Curie temperature(TC)of the compositions decreased with increase in ZrO_(2)concentration and reached 98°C,87°C and 36°C at x=0.05,0.10,_(0.15)mol,*** remaining compositions have TC below the room temperature;therefore,they can be used for subzero/cryogenic *** scanning electron microscopy study revealed an increase in grain size with increase in ZrO_(2)concentration and confirmed the complete solubility of ZrO_(2)in the crystal ***,low ZrO_(2)-doped BCT compositions with high d33 could be suitable for low temperature(<80°C)applications.

To identify and establish beneficiation techniques for slime, a comprehensive research work was carried out on beneficiation plant 2 thickener underflow (Tailing). Iron ore slimes (-45 micron ~80.0%) generated at beneficiation plant 2 assaying 46.7% Fe, 10.82% SiO2, and 4.58% Al2O3 have been subjected to various beneficiation studies like cyclone, wet high intensity magnetic separator and flotation to recover the iron bearing minerals. The effects of different operating parameters have been studied to get a product suitable for pellet making. Detailed beneficiation studies indicate that it is possible to obtain a product containing 61.8% to 66.6% Fe, 1.80% to 3.35% SiO2, and 1.65% to 2.40% Al2O3 with 8.0% to 22.3% weight recovery by adopting de-sliming followed by magnetic separation. Within this product grade range the pellet grade fines (JSW norms-minimum 63.0% Fe) consist of 63.0% Fe, 2.97% SiO2 and 2.48% Al2O3 with 16.9% weight recovery and 56.9% Fe recovery at 0.5 Tesla magnetic field intensity, pulsation rate 230 rpm and 2 min residence time.

The crystal structure of spiro[2.2”]acenaphthene-1”-onespiro[3.3’]-5’-(2,3-dichlorophenylmethylidene)-1’-methylpipe-ridin-4’-one-4-(2,3-dichorophenyl) octahydroindolizine was elucidated by single crystal X ray diffraction. The title compound C37H30Cl4N2O2, crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, space group P212121 with a = 8.4610(4) , b = 16.0926(6) , c= 23.8997(11) and Z = 4. The central piperidine ring adopts twisted conformation, the piperidine of octahydroindolizine ring is in chair conformation and the pyrrole ring is in slightly twisted envelope conformation. Details of the synthesis, NMR, crystal structure determination and intra- and inter- molecular interactions of the compound are given.

AIM: To find out the effect of Cat's whiskers (Cleome gynandra L., Capparidaceae) flavonoid (CWF) for the scavenging of free radicals in some inflammatory cells. METHODS: Mouse erythrocyte's hemoglobin, peritoneal macrophage, and peripheral blood lymphocytes were oxidized either by some of toxic chemicals (nitrite, carbon tetrachloride) or by enzymatic stimulation (glu- coseoxidase) to produce oxidative damage to cells. The protective effect of the CWF was examined, and the biochemical mechanism of action was also investigated in terms of the scavenging of free radicals. RESULTS: CWF (1 20 μg mL 1 ) decreased glucoseoxidase and nitrite induce oxidative damage in a concentration dependent manner in an in vitro model and inhibited the lysis of RBC [(28.64 ± 13.03)% and (70.31 ± 1.80)%] when mice were treated with CWF (25 and 50 mg kg 1 ). To assess the antioxidant potential of CWF in the lymphocytes and macrophages in living animals, the effect of CWF was measured on the elevated level of superoxide anions production in the cells. CWF scavenged the superoxide anion (O 2 ) production and inhibited the O 2 induced destruction of protein and lipid biomolecules. CONCLUSION: The study has established that the CWF mediates its antioxidant activity in some chronic inflammatory cells via its free radical scavenging activity.

Purpose:Fingertip injuries are common in industrial production activities as well as in domestic *** of pulp hampers daily life *** and aesthetic aspects are important in fingertip *** bone is usually exposed along with soft tissue *** to reconstruct the pulp flap with adequate bulk is ***:We reported a case series of 12 patients with the injury over the volar aspect of distal phalanx of the index or middle *** all cases,laterally based thenar flap was *** flap donor site was closed primarily in most of cases,while 4 patients required skin *** flap was detached between 2e3 *** assessment was done using static and dynamic 2-point discrimination and range of motion at each *** aesthetic outcome was assessed through *** results were analyzed using the unpaired t-test(SPSS version 21).Results:Partial necrosis occurred in 2 cases while rest of flaps survived *** 2-point discrimination ranged from 6e10 mm,mean 8.6 mm;and dynamic 2-point discrimination ranged from 8e10 mm,mean 8.9 *** mean satisfaction score was(4.0±0.55).Conclusion:Thenar flap is a good choice for reconstruction of the finger pulp as it provides the bulk with good functional and aesthetic outcome.

目的:研究生姜提取物6-姜酚对对乙酰氨基酚致小鼠肝脏毒性的保护作用。方法:实验组小鼠在腹腔注射对乙酰氨基酚(900 mg/kg)30 min后,分别给予6-姜酚(30 mg/kg)或标准对照药水飞蓟素(25 mg/kg)。注射对乙酰氨基酚4 h后处死小鼠,检测血清中天冬氨酸氨基转移酶、丙氨酸氨基转移酶、碱性磷酸酶活性,总胆红素的含量及肝匀浆中脂质过氧化及抗氧化情况,如超氧化物歧化酶、过氧化氢酶、谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶、谷胱甘肽还原酶、谷胱甘肽转移酶活性及还原型谷胱甘肽含量。结果:与对照组相比,6-姜酚及水飞蓟素均能显著降低对乙酰氨基酚引起的小鼠血清天冬氨酸氨基转移酶、丙氨酸氨基转移酶、碱性磷酸酶活性及总胆红素含量的升高(P<0.05)。此外,6-姜酚及水飞蓟素有效控制了肝脏内丙二醛的形成及各种抗氧化酶的降低(P<0.05)。结论:本研究的结果证实了6-姜酚具有与水飞蓟素相当的保肝作用。

Real-Time Range of Motion Measurement of Physical Therapeutic Exercises

Physical therapeutic exercise (PTE) is the planned process of performing bodily movements, postures, or physical activities to provide a patient with the ability to remediate or prevent impairments at a minimum. The efficacy of the PTE involves measuring accurately the range of motion (ROM) of joint functions and parameters that indicate the onset of fatigue, jerky motion, and muscle/joint resistance to the PTE. A physical therapist (PT) typically determines the efficacy of a PTE by measuring joint angles in clinical diagnosis to assess the ROM using the simple device Goniometer since motion capture systems are generally expensive, difficult to use, and currently not suited for real-time operations. The joint angle measurement using Goniometer suffers from low accuracy, low reliability and subjective. Furthermore, a patient when performing PTE by themselves at remote locations like their home or community centers cannot use a Goniometer to determine the efficacy. In this study, we present the approach of using an inexpensive, simple human motion capture system (HMCS) consisting of a single camera and a graphical processing unit (GPU) to perform the efficacy of the PTE in real-time. The approach involves the use of general purpose graphic processing unit (GPGPU) computer vision technique to track and record human motion and relate the tracked human motion to the prescribed physical therapy regimen in real-time. We have developed a tracking algorithm derived from the Klein’s algorithm known as the Modified Klein’s algorithm (MKA) capable of tracking human body parts while the original Klein’s algorithm was only capable of tracking objects with sharp edges. The MKA algorithm is further modified for parallel execution on a GPU to operate in real-time. Using the GPU, we are able to track multiple markers in a high definition (HD) frame of the HD video in 1.77 msecs achieving near real-time capability of ROM measurements. Objective:To assess the hepatoprotective effct of Ipomoea carnea(***)extract against antitubercular drug-induced liver toxicity in experimental ***:*** extracts(125,250 and 500 mg/kg,*** weight)were administered daily for 35 d in experimental *** toxicity was induced by combination of three antitubercular drugs(isoniazid 7.5 mg/kg,rifampicin 10 mg/kg and pyrazinamide 35 mg/kg)given orally as suspension for 35 d in *** groups received *** extracts along with antitubercular *** hepatoprotective activity was assessed using various biochemical parameters like aspartate aminotransferase,alanine aminotransferase,alkaline phosphatise and total ***,in-vivo antioxidant activities as lipid peroxidation,reduced glutathione,superoxide dismutase and catalase were measured in rat liver homogenate along with ATPase and *** biochemical observations were supplemented by histopathological ***:Obtained results demonstrated that treatment with *** extracts significantly(P<0.05-P<0.001)and dose-dependently prevented drug induced increase in serum levels of hepatic ***,*** extracts significantly(up to P<0.001)reduced the lipid peroxidation in the liver tissue and restored activities of defence antioxidant enzymes,reduced glutathione,superoxide dismutase and catalase towards normal *** of the liver tissue showed that *** extracts attenuated the hepatocellular necrosis,massive fatty changes and led to reduction in inflammatory cells ***:The results of this study strongly indicate the protective effect of *** extracts against liver injury,which may be attributed to its hepatoprotective activity,and there by scientifically support its traditional use.

Therapeutic Approach for Hair Growth and Regeneration Using Bioactive Formulation Containing Mesenchymal Stromal Cell-Derived Conditioned Medium

Background and Aims: Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is a common form of hair loss in both men and women. Despite its high prevalence and associated patient morbidity, the approved therapeutic options are limited to finasteride and minoxidil. The present study is aimed at assessing the efficacy of hair serum formulation, Trichosera®containing Bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal cells conditioned media as an active ingredient, for hair fall control and hair regrowth in healthy Indian human volunteers. Methods: The product was made using a 20% concentration of 10X Conditioned Media along with excipients. The final product was tested for physicochemical parameters, biomarkers, total protein content and microbial limits as per our in-house specifications. Results: The primary irritation patch test showed that the product is non-irritant and dermatologically safe. A clinical study on 40 subjects was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the bioactive formulation in hair fall control and hair regrowth in healthy volunteers. Phototrichogram measurement showed hair density and hair growth rate increased significantly by 11.54% and 18.66% at week 24. Hair tensile strength also increased significantly by 41.10% at 12 weeks follow-up. Hair pull test, to see a reduction in pulled hair and comb’s test to show a decrease in hair fall significantly improved from week 4 onwards. There were no significant adverse events in response to the product application. Conclusion: It is concluded that the hair serum product is completely safe on direct application to the scalp and showed significant improvement in the hair growth rate, hair density, scalp condition and reduction in hair fall. .
