Phytotoxicity of cadmium on growing Arachis hypogaea L. seedlings was studied. Seeds were exposed to 25, 50, and 100 μmol/L cdcl2 concentrations, for a period of 10, 15, 20 and 25 d. The extent of damage to chlorophyll, protein, proline, nitrate and nitrite reductase, antioxidant enzyme activity in leaves and roots were evaluated after 10 d of cadmium stress. The higher concentration of cadmium （100 μmol/L） resulted （leaves and roots） total chlorophyll 91.01%, protein 79.51%, 83.61%, nitrate reductase 79.39%, 80.72% and nitrite reductase 77.07%, 75.88% activity decreased with increase in cadmium concentrations and exposure periods. cadmium caused significant changes in the activity of antioxidative enzymes. contrastingly cd treated plant tissues showed an increase in proline 159.87%, 239.6%, gluthion reductase （GR） 337.72%, 306.14%, superoxide disumutase （SOD） 688.56%, 381.72%, ascorbate peroxidase （APX） 226.47%, 252.14%, peroxidase （POD） 72.19%, 60.29% and catalase （cAT） 228.96%, 214.74% as compared to control. cadmium stress caused a significant increase in the rate of SOD activity in leaves and roots of plant species. Results show the crop A. hypogaea is highly sensitive even at very low cadmium concentrations.

In this communication,the electrical conductivities and thermal expansion studies of microwave sintered co-doped ceria ce_(0.8)Y_(0.2-x)Dy_(x)O_(2-δ)(x=0,0.05,0.10,0.15 and 0.20) solid electrolyte materials for intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells(IT-SOFcs)synthesized by sol-gel auto-combustion method were *** sintering at 1300℃ for 30 min was used for making dense powder *** relative densities of all the samples are noticed above 95%.Raman spectrum was characterized by the presence of a very strong band near 460 cm^(-1),which along with X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis ascertain the sample formation with a single-phase cubic fluorite *** lattice parameter values were calculated from XRD *** images show nearly uniform grains with distinct grain *** thermal expansion coefficients(TEcs) are found to vary linearly with temperature and were measured in the range from 14.15 to 13.20×10^(-6)℃^(-1).The investigation on total ionic conductivity(TIc) was executed with variation in dopant concentration and relative oxygen *** impedance analysis reveals that the sample ce_(0.80)Y_(0.10)Dy_(0.10)O_(2-δ) displays the highest TIc,i.e.,7.5×10^(-3) S·cm^(-1) at 500℃ and minimum activation energy 0.90 eV compared to *** the highest TIc and minimum activation energy,the ce_(0.80)Y_(0.10)Dy_(0.10)O_(2-δ)might be the possible material as the solid electrolyte in intermediate temperature SOFcs.

Dye-sensitized photo-oxidation of disulfiram has been carried out under various reaction conditions including change in solvents and sensitizers. The product has been isolated and characterized by its physical, chemical and spectral data. To confirm the participation of singlet-oxygen in the reaction, the experiment has also been carried out in the presence of various singlet oxygen scavengers.

This work reviews the development of computational fluid dynamics （cFD） modeling for hydrogen separation, with a focus on high temperature membranes to address industrial requirements in terms of membrane systems as contactors, or in membrane reactor arrange- ments. cFD modeling of membrane,.s attracts interesting challenges as the membrane provides a discontinuity of flow, and therefore cannot be solved by the Navier-Stokes equations. To address this problem, tile concept of source has been introduced to understand gas flows on both sides or domains （feed and permeate） of the membrane. This is an important solution, as the gas flow and concentrations in the permeate domain are intrinsically affected by the gas flow and concentrations in the feed domain and vice-versa. In turn, the source term will depend on the membrane used, as different membrane materials comply with different transport mechanisms, in addition to varying gas selectiv- ity and fluxes. This work also addresses concentration polarization, a common effect in membrane systems, though its significance is dependent upon the performance of the membrane coupled with the operating conditions. Finally, cFD modeling is shifting from simplified single gas simulation to industrial gas mixtures, when the mathematical treatment becomes more complex.

Photooxidative removal of pharmaceuticals and organic dyes is an effective way to eliminate growing micropollutants. However, photooxidation often results in byproducts as secondary hazardous substances such as phytotoxins. Herein, we found that photooxidation of common antibiotic tetracycline hydrochloride(TcH) over a metal-free 8-hydroxyquinoline(8-HQ) functionalized carbon nitride(cN) photocatalyst significantly reduces the TcH phytotoxic effect. The phytotoxicity test of photocatalytic treated TcH-solution evaluated towards seed growth of cicer arietinum plant model endowed natural root and shoot *** study highlights the conceptual insights in designing of metal-free photocatalyst for environmental remediation.
