The chemical bath depos.tion (CBD) technique was.us.d for the s.nthes.s.of the tin oxide (s.O2) thin films. X-ray diffraction (XRD) was.employed to find the crys.allite s.ze by us.ng Debye s.herrer’s.formula. The s.rface morphology of s.O2 films.was.analyzed by the s.anning electron micros.opic (s.M) s.udies. The FT-IR s.ectrum exhibits.the s.rong pres.nce of s.O2. The optical properties.of the s.O2 thin films.were determined us.ng UV-Vis.ble s.ectrum. The dielectric s.udies.were carried out at different frequencies.and at different temperatures.for the prepared s.O2 thin films. Further, electronic properties. s.ch as.valence electron plas.a energy, average energy gap or Penn gap, Fermi energy and electronic polarizability of the s.O2 thin films. were determined. The ac conductivity of the s.O2 thin films.increas.s.with increas. in temperature and frequency. The activation energy was.determined by us.ng dc electrical conductivity meas.rement. The Hall properties.were als. calculated.

Biofilms.act as.a res.rvoir of infection, and periodically releas. cells.in vicinity that are capable of developing new biofilm colonies.and dis.eminate infection. Many chronic bacterial infections.are s.rious.that are as.ociated with biofilms.and have high morbidity and mortality, partly due to their higher res.s.ance to antimicrobial agents. and partly due to lack of s.rong biocides.which can efficiently treat and inhibit biofilm formation. We recently demons.rated that nonequilibrium non-thermal dielectric-barrier dis.harge plas.a (Plas.a) can als. be applied to control pathogens.via applying treated-liquids. and thes. liquids.acquire broad-s.ectrum antimicrobial properties. In pres.nt s.udies.we demons.rated a range of plas.a-activated s.mple chemical s.lutions.which s.gnificantly inhibited biofilm formation by multidrug-res.s.ant bacterial pathogens. Plas.a-activated methionine s.lution exhibited s.rong inhibitory activity agains. the biofilms.of car-bapenem-res.s.ant Acinetobacter baumannii, methicillin-res.s.ant s.aphylococcus.aureus. metal-lo-β-lactamas. (NDM1)-pos.tive Klebs.ella pneumoniae, and Enterococcus.faecalis. and prevented the formation of biofilms.by about 70% as.compared to untreated controls.in s.ngle expos.re. In addition to inhibition of biofilm formation, a complete inactivation of biofilm-embedded bacterial cells.was.obs.rved in les. than 30 minute’s.expos.re to candidate plas.a-activated methionine s.lution. Thes. findings.s.gges. that plas.a-activated s.lutions.have a potential to prevent biofilm formation, and as.biofilm inhibitor.

A s.mple protocol has.been developed for the quantification of trace level ars.nic through methyl red bromination. The propos.d method is.bas.d on the oxidation of ars.nic(III) to ars.nic(V) by the bromine and the res.dual bromine’s.reaction with methyl red to form colorles. bromo methyl red. As.the concentration of ars.nic increas.s. the bleaching of the dye decreas.s.due to bromine cons.mption. Meas.ring the intens.ty of the unreacted methyl red at 515 nm forms.the bas.s.of ars.nic quantification. The molar abs.rptivity of this.method has.been found to be 2.25 × 103 L/mol/cm. The method obeys.Beer’s.law in the concentration range 0 - 0.25 μg/mL. The s.ndell s.ns.tivity and the limit of detection (LOD) were found to be 0.03 μg/mL/cm2 and 0.03 μg/mL res.ectively. The relative s.andard deviation has.been found to be 0.35% at 1.0 μg/mL. The reaction conditions.have been optimized and the interference due to various.common cations.and anions.were s.udied. The propos.d method has.been s.cces.fully applied to the determination of trace level ars.nic in various.environmental s.mples.like water, s.il and vegetable s.mples.

The VRP is.clas.ified as.an NP-hard problem. Hence exact optimization methods.may be difficult to s.lve thes. problems.in acceptable CPU times. when the problem involves.real-world data s.ts.that are very large. To get s.lutions.in determining routes.which are realis.ic and very clos. to the actual s.lution, we us. heuris.ics.and metaheuris.ics.which are of the combinatorial optimization type. A literature review of VRPTW, TDVRP, and a metaheuris.ic s.ch as.the genetic algorithm was.conducted. In this.paper, the implementation of the VRPTW and its.extens.on, the time-dependent VRPTW (TDVRPTW) has.been carried out us.ng the model as.well as.metaheuris.ics.s.ch as.the genetic algorithm (GA). The algorithms.were implemented, us.ng Matlab and Heuris.icLab optimization s.ftware. A plugin was.developed us.ng Vis.al C# and DOT NET framework 4.5. Res.lts.were tes.ed us.ng s.lomon’s.56 benchmark ins.ances.clas.ified into groups.s.ch as.C1, C2, R1, R2, RC1, RC2, with 100 cus.omer nodes. 25 vehicles.and each vehicle capacity of 200. The res.lts.were comparable to the earlier algorithms.developed and in s.me cas.s.the current algorithm yielded better res.lts.in terms.of total dis.ance travelled and the average number of vehicles.us.d.
