Early Detection of Colletotrichum Kahawae Disease in Coffee Cherry Based on Computer Vision Techniques

Colletotrichum kahawae(Coffee Berry Disease)spreads through spores that can be carried by wind,rain,and insects affecting coffee plantations,and causes 80%yield losses and poor-quality coffee beans.The deadly disease is hard to control because wind,rain,and insects carry spores.Colombian researchers utilized a deep learning system to identify CBD in coffee cherries at three growth stages and classify photographs of infected and uninfected cherries with 93%accuracy using a random forest method.If the dataset is too small and noisy,the algorithm may not learn data patterns and generate accurate predictions.To overcome the existing challenge,early detection of Colletotrichum Kahawae disease in coffee cherries requires automated processes,prompt recognition,and accurate classifications.The proposed methodology selects CBD image datasets through four different stages for training and testing.XGBoost to train a model on datasets of coffee berries,with each image labeled as healthy or diseased.Once themodel is trained,SHAP algorithmto figure out which features were essential formaking predictions with the proposed model.Some of these characteristics were the cherry’s colour,whether it had spots or other damage,and how big the Lesions were.Virtual inception is important for classification to virtualize the relationship between the colour of the berry is correlated with the presence of disease.To evaluate themodel’s performance andmitigate excess fitting,a 10-fold cross-validation approach is employed.This involves partitioning the dataset into ten subsets,training the model on each subset,and evaluating its performance.In comparison to other contemporary methodologies,the model put forth achieved an accuracy of 98.56%.

Rapid development in Information Technology(IT)has allowed several novel application regions like large outdoor vehicular networks for Vehicle-to-Vehicle(V2V)transmission.Vehicular networks give a safe and more effective driving experience by presenting time-sensitive and location-aware data.The communication occurs directly between V2V and Base Station(BS)units such as the Road Side Unit(RSU),named as a Vehicle to Infrastructure(V2I).However,the frequent topology alterations in VANETs generate several problems with data transmission as the vehicle velocity differs with time.Therefore,the scheme of an effectual routing protocol for reliable and stable communications is significant.Current research demonstrates that clustering is an intelligent method for effectual routing in a mobile environment.Therefore,this article presents a Falcon Optimization Algorithm-based Energy Efficient Communication Protocol for Cluster-based Routing(FOA-EECPCR)technique in VANETS.The FOA-EECPCR technique intends to group the vehicles and determine the shortest route in the VANET.To accomplish this,the FOA-EECPCR technique initially clusters the vehicles using FOA with fitness functions comprising energy,distance,and trust level.For the routing process,the Sparrow Search Algorithm(SSA)is derived with a fitness function that encompasses two variables,namely,energy and distance.A series of experiments have been conducted to exhibit the enhanced performance of the FOA-EECPCR method.The experimental outcomes demonstrate the enhanced performance of the FOA-EECPCR approach over other current methods.

Autism spectrum disorder(ASD)can be defined as a neurodevelopmental condition or illness that can disturb kids who have heterogeneous characteristics,like changes in behavior,social disabilities,and difficulty communicating with others.Eye tracking(ET)has become a useful method to detect ASD.One vital aspect of moral erudition is the aptitude to have common visual attention.The eye-tracking approach offers valuable data regarding the visual behavior of children for accurate and early detection.Eye-tracking data can offer insightful information about the behavior and thought processes of people with ASD,but it is important to be aware of its limitations and to combine it with other types of data and assessment techniques to increase the precision of ASD detection.It operates by scanning the paths of eyes for extracting a series of eye projection points on images for examining the behavior of children with autism.The purpose of this research is to use deep learning to identify autistic disorders based on eye tracking.The Chaotic Butterfly Optimization technique is used to identify this specific disturbance.Therefore,this study develops an ET-based Autism Spectrum Disorder Diagnosis using Chaotic Butterfly Optimization with Deep Learning(ETASD-CBODL)technique.The presented ETASDCBODL technique mainly focuses on the recognition of ASD via the ET and DL models.To accomplish this,the ETASD-CBODL technique exploits the U-Net segmentation technique to recognize interested AREASS.In addition,the ETASD-CBODL technique employs Inception v3 feature extraction with CBO algorithm-based hyperparameter optimization.Finally,the long-shorttermmemory(LSTM)model is exploited for the recognition and classification of ASD.To assess the performance of the ETASD-CBODL technique,a series of simulations were performed on datasets from the figure-shared data repository.The experimental values of accuracy(99.29%),precision(98.78%),sensitivity(99.29%)and specificity(99.29%)showed a better performance in the ETASD-CBODL technique over recent

Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs)are a major element of Internet of Things(IoT)networks which offer seamless sensing and wireless connectivity.Disaster management in smart cities can be considered as a safety critical application.Therefore,it becomes essential in ensuring network accessibility by improving the lifetime of IoT assisted WSN.Clustering and multihop routing are considered beneficial solutions to accomplish energy efficiency in IoT networks.This article designs an IoT enabled energy aware metaheuristic clustering with routing protocol for real time disaster management(EAMCR-RTDM).The proposed EAMCR-RTDM technique mainly intends to manage the energy utilization of nodes with the consideration of the features of the disaster region.To achieve this,EAMCR-RTDM technique primarily designs a yellow saddle goatfish based clustering(YSGF-C)technique to elect cluster heads(CHs)and organize clusters.In addition,enhanced cockroach swarm optimization(ECSO)based multihop routing(ECSO-MHR)approach was derived for optimal route selection.The YSGF-C and ECSO-MHR techniques compute fitness functions using different input variables for achieving improved energy efficiency and network lifetime.The design of YSGF-C and ECSO-MHR techniques for disaster management in IoT networks shows the novelty of the work.For examining the improved outcomes of the EAMCR-RTDM system,a wide range of simulations were performed and the extensive results are assessed in terms of different measures.The comparative outcomes highlighted the enhanced outcomes of the EAMCRRTDM algorithm over the existing approaches.

Neuroendocrine carcinoma of the ampulla of Vater:a clinicopathologic evaluation

BACKGROUND:Only 105 cases of neuroendocrine tumor(NET)of the ampulla of Vater have been described, mostly as single case reports.The incidence of NET is rising.The changes in incidence may result from changes in detection.This study was to determine the relative incidence and clinicopathological characteristics of high- grade neuroendocrine carcinoma(small cell carcinoma and large cell carcinoma)of the ampulla of Vater at a single institution. METHODS:Sections from paraffin blocks of tumors of the ampulla of Vater taken from 45 patients who underwent Whipple’s procedure and 6 patients who underwent palliative bypass between September 2003 and January 2007 were subjected to immunohistochemical analysis.The clinical and pathological data from 5 patients diagnosed with NET of the ampulla of Vater were analyzed. RESULTS:The patients were 3 men and 2 women,ranging in age from 39 to 47 years(mean 44 years).Operative procedures included Whipple’s procedure in 4 patients and palliative bypass in 1 patient.Histopathological examination revealed large-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma in 2 patients,small cell carcinoma in 2,and carcinoid in 1.Three patients with high-grade neuroendocrine carcinoma who had undergone Whipple’s procedure died at postoperatively 7,11,and 13 months.The patient who had undergone palliative triple bypass died 3 months after surgery.CONCLUSIONS:The relative incidence of high-grade neuroendocrine carcinomas of the ampulla of Vater is higher than that generally expected.The tumors behave aggressively and have a dismal prognosis despite aggressive treatment.

Is bactibilia a predictor of poor outcome of pancreaticoduodenectomy?

BACKGROUND:Although bile infection has been proposed to increase infective complications following pancreaticoduodenectomy,its association with infective complications and non-infective complications like pancreatic fistula is still controversial.METHODS:Seventy-six patients who had undergone pancreaticoduodenectomy between July 2007 and December 2008 were included in a prospective database and their data analyzed.In all patients intraoperative bile from the bile duct was cultured.Preoperative,intra-operative,and post-operative variables were recorded and analyzed.RESULTS:Bile culture showed positive growth in 35 patients and negative growth in 41.Twenty patients in the positive group underwent ERCP and stenting.The patients with a positive bile culture had a higher incidence of infective complications including intra-abdominal abscess (n=8),wound infection (n=27),bacteremia (n=10),and renal insufficiency (n=9).There was no increase in the rate of non-infective complications of pancreaticoduodenectomy including pancreatic fistula (n=7),delayed gastric emptying (n=9),and post-operative hemorrhage (n=3).The hospital stay was significantly prolonged in the patients with a positive bile culture (P=0.0002).CONCLUSIONS:Pre-operative biliary drainage is significantly associated with bile infection,and bile infection increases the overall rates of infective complications and renal insufficiency.Because of the high incidence of complications is associated with infected bile,routine intra-operative bile culture is recommended in patients undergoing pancreaticoduodenectomy.Pre-operative prophylaxis is dependent on sensitivity of cases to perioperative antibiotics and intraoperative bile culture report.Because of its significant association with infected bile,biliary stenting should be used in strictly selected cases.

Long-term outcome of gastric access loop in hepaticojejunostomy

BACKGROUND:?The incidence of hepaticojejunostomy stricture is 4%-10% in experienced centres. Many access loops have been designed and used to facilitate endoscopic intervention for this complication of hepaticojejunostomy. In this study, we investigated the effectiveness and safety of gastric access loop. METHODS:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 13 patients who had undergone hepaticojejunostomy with gastric access loop between June 1999 and September 2003. Eleven patients were followed up for a mean period of 51 months (range 20-81 months). Two patients were lost to follow up. RESULTS:?On follow-up, 8 patients had patent jejuno- gastrostomy (end to side anastomosis between Roux loop of jejunum and stomach) and hepaticojejunostomy. Three patients developed stricture of jejunogastrostomy at 41 months, 63 months and 81 months of follow-up. Among these 3 patients, one also had hepaticojejunostomy stricture. In the patient with hepaticojejunostomy stricture, dilatation of jejunogastrostomy stricture was attempted but failed. None of the patients had any evidence of bile gastritis/cholangitis. There was no procedure related morbidity/mortality. CONCLUSIONS:Further studies involving large numbers of patients are required before wide application of gastric access loop in hepaticojejunostomy though it is a safer option than percutaneous transhepatic manipulations or revision surgery.

Large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the ampulla of Vater

BACKGROUND: Neuroendocrine tumors of the ampulla of Vater are extremely rare, and few cases of large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) of the ampulla have been reported. METHODS: A 48-year-old male with obstructive jaundice was admitted to our hospital. On examination the patient was found to have a periampullary growth and subsequently underwent the Whipple's procedure. RESULTS: Histopathological examination and immunohistochemistry revealed features of LCNEC of the ampulla of Vater. The patient developed multiple liver metastases 6 months after Whipple's procedure. CONCLUSION: LCNEC of the ampulla of Vater is rare and highly aggressive, with a dismal prognosis.
