Slits have been widely used in laser-plasma interac.ions as plasma optic.l c.mponents for generating high-harmonic.light and c.ntrolling laser-driven partic.e ***,we propose and demonstrate that periodic.thin slits c.n be regarded as a new breed of optic.l elements for effic.ent foc.sing and guiding of intense laser *** fundamental physic. of intense laser interac.ion with thin slits is studied,and it is revealed that relativistic.effec.s c.n lead to enhanc.d laser foc.sing far beyond the pure diffrac.ive foc.sing *** addition,the interac.ion of an intense laser pulse with periodic.thin slits makes it feasible to ac.ieve multifold enhanc.ment in both laser intensity and energy transfer effic.enc. c.mpared with c.nventional *** results provide a novel method for manipulating ultra-intense laser pulses and should be of interest for many laser-based applic.tions.

In rec.nt years,the Internet of Things(IoT)has gradually developed applic.tions suc. as c.llec.ing sensory data and building intelligent servic.s,whic. has led to an explosion in mobile data ***,with the rapid development of artific.al intelligenc.,semantic.c.mmunic.tion has attrac.ed great attention as a new c.mmunic.tion ***,for IoT devic.s,however,proc.ssing image information effic.ently in real time is an essential task for the rapid transmission of semantic.*** the inc.ease of model parameters in deep learning methods,the model inferenc. time in sensor devic.s c.ntinues to *** c.ntrast,the Pulse c.upled Neural Network(Pc.N)has fewer parameters,making it more suitable for proc.ssing real-time sc.ne tasks suc. as image segmentation,whic. lays the foundation for real-time,effec.ive,and ac.urate image ***,the parameters of Pc.N are determined by trial and error,whic. limits its *** overc.me this limitation,an Improved Pulse c.upled Neural Networks(IPc.N)model is proposed in this *** IPc.N c.nstruc.s the c.nnec.ion between the static.properties of the input image and the dynamic.properties of the neurons,and all its parameters are set adaptively,whic. avoids the inc.nvenienc. of manual setting in traditional methods and improves the adaptability of parameters to different types of *** segmentation results demonstrate the validity and effic.enc. of the proposed self-adaptive parameter setting method of IPc.N on the gray images and natural images from the Matlab and Berkeley Segmentation *** IPc.N method ac.ieves a better segmentation result without training,providing a new solution for the real-time transmission of image semantic.information.

Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glasses are promising materials for thermometers based on the fluoresc.nc. intensity ratio(FIR)***,at high Nd^(3+)c.nc.ntrations,energy transfer(ET)proc.sses suc. as optic.l reabsorption and c.oss-relaxation c.n affec. the Nd^(3+)emission,whic. has been little explored in the ***,the present work investigated the use of Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glass(samples doped with Nd^(3+)at 0.2 mol%,0.5 mol%,2.0 mol%,and 4.0 mol%)in fluoresc.nc. thermometers,in the temperature range from 299 to 371 *** results indic.te a strong dependenc. of the FIR parameters on the Nd^(3+)c.nc.ntration,due to c.anges in the emission band profiles c.used by optic.l reabsorption of the Nd^(3+)emissions and c.oss-relaxation proc.sses.A dec.ease of the relative sensitivity of the ratio^(4)F_(5/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)/^(4)F_(3/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)is observed for samples doped with higher amounts of Nd^(3+).The maximum relative sensitivity at 299 K is 3.00%/K,whic. is the highest value among the reported Nd^(3+)ions.

The development of autonomous vehic.es has bec.me one of the greatest researc. endeavors in rec.nt years. These vehic.es rely on many c.mplex systems working in tandem to make dec.sions. For prac.ic.l use and safety reasons, these systems must not only be ac.urate, but also quic.ly detec. c.anges in the surrounding environment. In autonomous vehic.e researc., the environment perc.ption system is one of the key c.mponents of development. Environment perc.ption systems allow the vehic.e to understand its surroundings. This is done by using c.meras, light detec.ion and ranging (LiDAR), with other sensor systems and modalities. Deep learning c.mputer vision algorithms have been shown to be the strongest tool for translating c.mera data into ac.urate and safe traversability dec.sions regarding the environment surrounding a vehic.e. In order for a vehic.e to safely traverse an area in real time, these c.mputer vision algorithms must be ac.urate and have low latenc.. While muc. researc. has studied autonomous driving for traversing well-struc.ured urban environments, limited researc. exists evaluating perc.ption system improvements in off-road settings. This researc. aims to investigate the adaptability of several existing deep-learning arc.itec.ures for semantic.segmentation in off-road environments. Previous studies of two c.nvolutional Neural Network (c.N) arc.itec.ures are inc.uded for c.mparison with new evaluation of Vision Transformer (ViT) arc.itec.ures for semantic.segmentation. Our results demonstrate viability of ViT arc.itec.ures for off-road perc.ption systems, having a strong segmentation ac.urac., lower inferenc. speed and memory footprint c.mpared to previous results with c.N arc.itec.ures.

In the present work,tilted global solar irradianc. data are presented and analysed,measured for a period of 1 year on the c.mpus of Bahrain Polytec.nic.Kingdom of Bahrain,from both a fixed photovoltaic.panel and a moving one via a two-axis solar *** fixed panel fac.s south with an angle of 26°with respec. to the horizontal,c.inc.ding with the loc.l geographic.l *** sec.nd panel is moved by two motors,c.ntrolled by a global positioning system and suitable software so that the Sun’s rays are perpendic.lar to the panel surfac..A pyranometer is installed on eac. panel,rec.rding the tilted global solar irradianc.,stored by using a data *** analysis of the data obtained shows a 33%solar energy gain on an annual basis for the moving panel(2780 versus 2088 kWh/m^(2) on the fixed panel).More importantly,in June,when the energy demand in Bahrain is elevated due to the inc.eased residential c.oling loads,the solar energy rec.ived by the moving panel is 54.7%higher c.mpared with that of the fixed *** a perc.ntage basis,the inc.ease in solar energy from the moving panel is profound in the early morning and late evening ***,the reduc.ion in the solar energy rec.ived by the fixed panel from May to June does not appear in the moving panel bec.use of the adjustable orientation of the *** the year,the mean daily solar power varies between 0.37 and 0.56 kW/m^(2) for the fixed panel,and 0.45 and 0.70 kW/m^(2) for the moving *** winter,solar energy fluc.uations are elevated due to erratic.weather c.nditions that present a peak standard deviation of 28%of the c.rresponding *** data presented are useful for potential solar investments in Gulf c.untries.
