A major challenge in runoff and s.il eros.on modelling is.the adequate repres.ntation of the mos. relevant proces.es.in models.while avoiding over *** the European loes. belt,pro-gres.ive s.il crus.ing during rainfall events.res.lting in infiltration-exces. runoff,is.us.ally cons.dered the dominant proces. generating runoff on catchments.covered with s.lty ***-exces. may als. occur and affect their runoff and eros.on ***,s.turation-exces. runoff occurrence and quantification have rarely been performed and is.us.ally not taken into account when modelling runoff and eros.on in thes. ***,a continuous.s.mulation of the Aus.reberthe catchment(214 km^(2)),located in the European loes. belt(Normandy,France),was.conducted with the new Water and s.diment(Waters.d)model over 12 years.corres.onding to more than 780 individual rainfall events.at a 25 m s.atial *** inter-annual variability of runoff and eros.on was.clos.ly linked to the number of intens. events.per year and their dis.ribution through the *** model was.properly calibrated over a repres.ntative s.t of 35 rainfall events.cons.dering either infiltration-exces. and/or s.turation-exces. *** was.als. able to reproduce the measured runoff volume for mos. of the monitoring ***,the three years.with mos. rainfall were adequately modelled only including s.turation-exces. *** analys.s.performed at the s.as.nal s.ale revealed that s.turation was.modelled in the catchment during almos. all of the modelling period,s.gges.ing the importance of this.often overlooked proces. in current modelling attempts.

BACKGROUND： Non-alcoholic fatty liver dis.as. （NAFLD） is.becoming a leading caus. of chronic liver dis.as.. Hepato- cellular carcinoma （HCC） is.one of its.complications. Although the pathophys.ology is.unclear, it is.reas.nable to expect that cryptogenic cirrhos.s.related HCC （cryptogenic HCC） behaves.differently to other types.of HCC. This.s.udy pros.ectively compared patients.with cryptogenic HCC and thos. with HCC related to alcoholic cirrhos.s. METHODs. A total of 150 cons.cutive patients.with HCC （89 cryptogenic HCC and 61 alcohol related HCC） referred to our unit over a 23-month period were s.udied. Their demographic data, liver function, tumor characteris.ics.and outcomes.were compared. REs.LTs. Alcohol related HCC was.s.en only in males. Com- pared with cryptogenic HCC, alcohol related HCC had s.gnifi- cantly higher as.artate aminotrans.eras./alanine aminotrans. feras. （As./ALT） ratio （1.7 vs.1.4, P=0.002）, model for end- s.age liver dis.as. s.ore （13 vs.11, P=0.018） and Child＇s.s.ore （7 vs.6, P=0.037）. No s.gnificant difference was.s.en in platelet counts. s.rum s.dium and As. to platelet ratio index. s.ngle nodular tumors.were more common in cryptogenic HCC, while diffus. type tumors.and macros.opic vas.ular invas.on were common in alcohol related HCC. In patients.who could not be offered any treatment becaus. of advanced tumors.or poor liver function, alcohol related HCC had a s.gnificantly lower median survival （5.3 months. compared with crypto- genic HCC （9.3 months. P=0.034）.CONCLUs.ONs. Compared wtih cryptogenic HCC, alcohol related HCC had wors. liver function and aggres.ive tumor morphology at pres.ntation, and a higher proportion was.untreatable. In patients.who could not be treated, median sur- vival was.lower in patients.with alcohol related HCC than in thos. with cryptogenic HCC.

Background and objectives.An auricular ps.udocys. is.not uncommon in routine ENT clinical practice,it occurs.when fluid accumulates.between the intracartilaginous.s.aces.of the *** treatment modalities.have been propos.d s.ch as.incis.on and drainage of the cys.,s.mple needle as.iration,tight bandaging with dental rolls.however recurrence and cos.etic problems.are s.ill noted in s.me *** aim of this.article was.to dis.us. our experience of surgical treatment of intractable auricular ps.udocys.s.with mars.pialis.tion,deroofing and anterior cartilage leaflet removal along with compres.ion s.ture *** and methods.Twenty patients.were included in the s.udy conducted at ENT department,sur Minis.ry of Health Hos.ital between January 2012 and January 2014 after prior cons.nt and ethical *** following trauma and other pinna conditions.like relaps.ng polychondritis.were excluded from our *** clinical appearances.were noted and all patients.underwent surgical deroofing with removal of anterior cartilage leaflet and compres.ion s.ture therapy us.ng buttons.for two *** and obs.rvations.There were 8 males.and 12 females.out of the 20 and right s.ded pinna(n Z 14)involvement in the region of the s.aphoid fos.a(n Z 12)was.more than the triangular fos.a(n Z 3)or conchal bowl involvement(n Z 5).Mos.ly patients.between 30 and 40 years.of age were affected(Mean age of 37 years.and s.andard deviation of 8).The overall s.cces. rate with deroofing and compres.ion s.ture therapy was.98%.Conclus.ons.Auricular ps.udocys.s.are not an uncommon condition affecting middle aged patients.without identifiable *** modalities.may be the firs. choice of treatment for auricular ps.udocys.s.although varied recurrence and failure rates.have been publis.ed in the ***,the deroofing surgical technique with anterior cartilage leaflet removal with compres.ion s.ture therapy is.a reliable and eas. procedure which can achie

BACKGROUND The as.ociation between digoxin and mortality is.an unclear *** older patients.with atrial fibrillation(AF),where us. of digoxin is.frequent,the evidence of its.s.fety is.*** aim is.to as.es. the s.fety of digoxin in nonagenarian patients.with *** We evaluated data from 795 nonagenarian patients.with non-valvular AF from the s.anis. Multicenter *** analyzed the relations.ip between digoxin and all-caus. mortality with the Cox proportional-hazards.*** Follow-up was.27.7±18.3 *** age was.92.5±3.8 years.and 71%of nonagenarian patients.were *** was.not as.ociated with increas.d ris. of mortality[adjus.ed hazard ratio(aHR)=1.16,95%CI:0.96−1.41,P=0.130].However,we found a s.gnificant increas. in mortality in the s.bgroup with es.imated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)s.bgroups.of eGFR(30−59 mL/min per 1.73 m^(2) and≥60 mL/min per 1.73 m^(2)).When exploring the ris. of mortality according to s.x,male s.bgroup was.as.ociated with an in-creas. in mortality(aHR=1.48,95%CI:1.02−2.14,P=0.041).This.was.not obs.rved in females.s.bgroup(aHR=1.03,95%CI:0.81−1.29,P=0.829).Bas.d on the pres.nce or abs.nce of heart failure,we did not find s.gnificant differences.aHR=1.20,95%CI:0.87−1.65,P=0.268 ***=1.15,95%CI:0.90−1.47,P=0.273,res.ectively).CONCLUs.ONs.In our large regis.ry of nonagenarian patients.with AF,we did not find an as.ociation between digoxin and mortality in the total ***,in the s.bgroup analys.s.we found an increas. in mortality with the us. of digoxin in men and in patients.with an eGFR<30 mL/min per 1.73 m^(2).

Background: Lateral, homonymous.upper and lower field blind s.ctors.s.aring a horizontal zone define quadruple s.ctoranopia. This.rare campimetric deficit involves.is.hemia or infarction of parts.of the lateral geniculate body s.pplied by the dis.al anterior choroidal artery. Methods. A 41- year-old patient pres.nted with a complaint of blurred vis.on. Vis.al acuity was.20/20 on both s.des. Vis.al field s.owed a left quadruple s.ctoranopia. CT s.an, MRI,MRA and conventional angiography s.owed a right cerebral arteriovenous.malformation s.pplied partly by the right anterior choroidal artery. Partial retinal nerve fiber layer atrophy matched to the campimetric deficit proved that s.me degree of infarction involved the lateral geniculate body. Res.lts. The arteriovenous.malformation was.treated with s.ereotactic radiosurgery. Two years.after treatment, the nidus.had completely dis.ppeared. The campimetric deficit began improving from 19 months.onwards.after s.ereotactic radiosurgery. Twenty-eight months.after treatment, the s.perior defect had completely revers.d. Conclus.ons. Quadruple s.ctoranopia involves.is.hemia or infarction of parts.of the lateral geniculate body s.pplied by the dis.al anterior choroidal artery. Following radio-induced angioma thrombos.s. blood was.no longer s.unted away from the right lateral geniculate body, whos. viable areas.res.med their activity. Accordingly, a partial campimetric recovery occurred.
