Quantitative principles of dynamic interaction between rock support and surrounding rock in rockburst roadways

Rockbursts, which mainly affect mining roadways, are dynamic disasters arising from the surrounding rock under high stress. Understanding the interaction between supports and the surrounding rock is necessary for effective rockburst control. In this study, the squeezing behavior of the surrounding rock is analyzed in rockburst roadways, and a mechanical model of rockbursts is established considering the dynamic support stress, thus deriving formulas and providing characteristic curves for describing the interaction between the support and surrounding rock. Design principles and parameters of supports for rockburst control are proposed. The results show that only when the geostress magnitude exceeds a critical value can it drive the formation of rockburst conditions. The main factors influencing the convergence response and rockburst occurrence around roadways are geostress, rock brittleness, uniaxial compressive strength, and roadway excavation size. Roadway support devices can play a role in controlling rockburst by suppressing the squeezing evolution of the surrounding rock towards instability points of rockburst. Further, the higher the strength and the longer the impact stroke of support devices with constant resistance, the more easily multiple balance points can be formed with the surrounding rock to control rockburst occurrence. Supports with long impact stroke allow adaptation to varying geostress levels around the roadway, aiding in rockburst control. The results offer a quantitative method for designing support systems for rockburst-prone roadways. The design criterion of supports is determined by the intersection between the convergence curve of the surrounding rock and the squeezing deformation curve of the support devices.

Maximize the resource utilization efficiency and guarantee the quality of service(QoS)of users by selecting the network are the key issues for heterogeneous network operators,but the resources occupied by users in different networks cannot be compared *** paper proposes a network selection algorithm for heterogeneous ***,the concept of equivalent bandwidth is proposed,through which the actual resources occupied by users with certain QoS requirements in different networks can be compared *** the concept of network applicability is defined to express the abilities of networks to support different *** proposed network selection algorithm first evaluates whether the network has enough equivalent bandwidth required by the user and then prioritizes network with poor applicability to avoid the situation that there are still residual resources in entire network,but advanced services can not be *** simulation results show that the proposed algorithm obtained better performance than the baselines in terms of reducing call blocking probability and improving network resource utilization efficiency.

Energy management strategy that optimizes battery degradation for electric vehicles with hybrid energy storage system

The short life of electric vehicle(EV)batteries is an important factor limiting the popularization of EVs.A hybrid energy storage system(HESS)for EVs combines Li-ion batteries with supercapacitors,so that the supercapacitor shares the peak power during the starting and braking,effectively solving the problem of irreversible capacity degradation of Li-ion ***,an energy management strategy for HESS was designed based on battery degradation to extend the service life of the EV ***,to obtain accurate battery degradation characteristics,a cycling charge-discharge test was *** this test,the effects of discharge rate and state of charge on battery degradation rate were determined,and the battery degradation model was *** on the working map of the motor obtained through the bench test,a data-based model of the power system was constructed to accurately characterize the energy consumption of the EV under different operating ***,rule-based and optimization-based energy management strategies that consider battery degradation were designed using the fuzzy algorithm and dynamic programming(DP)*** effectiveness of the devised control strategies was assessed using the model-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop test *** fuzzy control strategy had a simple structure and could be rapidly calculated but showed worse performance than the DP-based strategy in terms of battery *** DP-based energy management strategy resulted in 16.68% lower capacity degradation than the fuzzy strategy.

Multi-Stage Voltage Control Optimization Strategy for Distribution Networks Considering Active-Reactive Co-Regulation of Electric Vehicles

An adjustable bio-sealing method for rock fracture leakage mitigation

This study proposed a repeated adjustable mixture injection strategy(RAM)based microbial induced carbonate precipitation(MICP)for efficient mitigation of rock fracture *** fractures with small apertures were investigated,and bio-sealing experiments were conducted using five different cementation solution(CS)concentrations(0.25−2 M).The results showed that the RAM-based bio-sealing method can seal and bond the small aperture rock fractures with high efficiency and uniform precipitation by adjusting the CS *** RAM-based bio-sealing mechanism is attributed to the following four stages:(1)fixation of bacterial flocs onto the fracture surfaces,(2)precipitation of CaCO3 onto the fracture surfaces,(3)growth of pre-precipitated CaCO3 and adhesion of new-suspended CaCO3,and(4)bridging and clogging *** optimal CS concentration of 1 M resulted in a fracture filling rate up to 85%,a transmissivity reduction of 4 orders of magnitude,and a shear strength ranging from 512 kPa to 688 *** bio-sealing effect was found to be influenced by the CS concentration on bacterial attachment,calcium carbonate yield and calcium carbonate bulk *** CS concentration of 1 M promoted bacterial attachment,and increased calcium carbonate yield as well as calcium carbonate bulk density,while concentrations above 1 M had the opposite *** bulk density of calcium carbonate played a crucial role in the sealing and bonding performance of bio-sealed fractures,particularly at comparable filling ratios and bridging *** bulk density was regulated by the size of calcium carbonate crystals and was determined by Ca2+concentration in the *** study provides valuable insights into the RAM-based bio-sealing method,highlighting its potential for efficient rock fracture leakage mitigation through precise control of CS concentration and understanding the underlying mechanisms.

Probing the special angle in twisted bilayer MoS_(2)via angle-dependent scanning tunneling microscopy studies

Twisted transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)homo-bilayers host unique quantum properties,which can be tuned by interlayer twist angleθ.However,the systematic evolution of their typical electronic properties with respect to the twist angleθ,which is crucial for identifying the“special angle”analogous to the“magic angle”of twisted bilayer graphene in correlation physics studies,remains incompletely ***,via scanning tunneling microscopy(STM)and spectroscopy(STS),we investigate the variation of the moirépotential,flat band,and layer polarization characteristics across a wide range of twist angleθin twisted bilayer MoS_(2)(TB-MoS_(2)).The moirépotential of the valence band exhibits a non-monotonic variation withθ,peaking at a maximum value up to 204 me Vatθ~1.7°.Concurrently,at the sameθ,the bandwidth of the flat band at theΓ_(V)point of the valence band attains its minimum,precisely signifying the“special angle”θ_(c)~1.7°in TB-MoS_(2).Interestingly,layer polarization in the moirésuperlattice is spatially visualized through the distribution of local density of states(LDOS)at the energies of bothΓ_(V)and K_(V)points of the valence band,where the polarization degree at theΓ_(V)point demonstrates a close dependency onθ.Our findings deepen understanding of twist-angle effect in TMDs,advancing both fundamental physics and practical application.

Transition metal sulfides have great potential as anode mterials for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)due to their high theoretical specific ***,the inferior intrinsic conductivity and large volume variation during sodiation-desodiation processes seriously affect its high-rate and long-cyde performance,unbeneficial for the application as fast-charging and long-cycling SIBs ***,the three-dimensional porous Cu_(1.81)S/nitrogen-doped carbon frameworks(Cu_(1.81)S/NC)are synthesized by the simple and facile sol-gel and annealing processes,which can accommodate the volumetric expansion of Cu_(1.81)S nanoparticles and accelerate the transmission of ions and electrons during Na^(+)insertion/extraction processes,exhibiting the excellent rate capability(250.6 mA·g^(-1)at 20.0 A·g^(-1))and outstanding cycling stability(70% capacity retention for 6000 cycles at 10.0 A·g^(-1))for ***,the Na-ion full cells coupled with Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)/C cathode also demonstrate the satisfactory reversible specific capacity of 330.5 mAh·g^(-1)at 5.0 A·g^(-1)and long-cycle performance with the 86.9% capacity retention at 2.0 A·g^(-1)after 750 *** work proposes a promising way for the conversionbased metal sulfides for the applications as fast-charging sodium-ion battery anode.

Stiffness-tunable biomaterials provide a good extracellular matrix environment for axon growth and regeneration

Neuronal growth, extension, branching, and formation of neural networks are markedly influenced by the extracellular matrix—a complex network composed of proteins and carbohydrates secreted by cells. In addition to providing physical support for cells, the extracellular matrix also conveys critical mechanical stiffness cues. During the development of the nervous system, extracellular matrix stiffness plays a central role in guiding neuronal growth, particularly in the context of axonal extension, which is crucial for the formation of neural networks. In neural tissue engineering, manipulation of biomaterial stiffness is a promising strategy to provide a permissive environment for the repair and regeneration of injured nervous tissue. Recent research has fine-tuned synthetic biomaterials to fabricate scaffolds that closely replicate the stiffness profiles observed in the nervous system. In this review, we highlight the molecular mechanisms by which extracellular matrix stiffness regulates axonal growth and regeneration. We highlight the progress made in the development of stiffness-tunable biomaterials to emulate in vivo extracellular matrix environments, with an emphasis on their application in neural repair and regeneration, along with a discussion of the current limitations and future prospects. The exploration and optimization of the stiffness-tunable biomaterials has the potential to markedly advance the development of neural tissue engineering.

Rough singular integrals associated to surfaces of revolution on product spaces

We study the Lpboundedness of singular integral operators along surfaces of revolution on product spaces. The Lpboundedness for these operators are obtained under very weak conditions on kernels. Our results are new and they improve several previously known results. Furthermore, they are natural extensions of many known results on singular integrals in the one-parameter setting and they subsume many other corresponding results on the product space setting.
