Effects of mindfulness-based intervention programs on sleep among people with common mental disorders:A systematic review and meta-analysis

Negative Stiffness Mechanism on An Asymmetric Wave Energy Converter by Using A Weakly Nonlinear Potential Model

Salter's duck,an asymmetrical wave energy converter(WEC)device,showed high efficiency in extracting energy from 2D regular waves in the past;yet,challenges remain for fluctuating wave *** can potentially be addressed by adopting a negative stiffness mechanism(NSM)in WEC devices to enhance system efficiency,even in highly nonlinear and steep 3D waves.A weakly nonlinear model was developed which incorporated a nonlinear restoring moment and NSM into the linear formulations and was applied to an asymmetric WEC using a time domain potential flow *** model was initially validated by comparing it with published experimental and numerical computational fluid dynamics *** current results were in good agreement with the published *** was found that the energy extraction increased in the range of 6%to 17%during the evaluation of the effectiveness of the NSM in regular *** irregular wave conditions,specifically at the design wave conditions for the selected test site,the energy extraction increased by 2.4%,with annual energy production increments of approximately *** findings highlight the potential of NSM in enhancing the performance of asymmetric WEC devices,indicating more efficient energy extraction under various wave conditions.

Incidence of acute infectious conjunctivitis across the pre-and post COVID era:a 7-year-result from a tertiary acute hospital in hong Kong

Acute infectious conjunctivitis(AIC)is one of the most common communicable diseases encountered in acute hospital *** exists long before *** showed COVID-19 infections were associated with AIC,as the most common ocular manifestations[1].Thus,an increase in AIC during COVID-19 is expected[2].however,personal hygiene practices and public health measures throughout COVID-19 negatively impacted the incidence of influenza and other upper respiratory tract infections,as for AIC[3].Our retrospective study extracted the data between July 2016 to June 2023,from the hospital communicable ocular diseases *** aim to reveal the incidence of AIC across the pre-and post-COVID era in a local regional acute hospital.A total of 1512 patients with AIC were identified in the last 7 years across the pre-and post-COVID *** incidences of AIC over the past 7 years were plotted as a line chart(Figure 1A).

The development of scientific inquiry and research has yielded numerous benefits in the realm of intelligent traffic control systems, particularly in the realm of automatic license plate recognition for vehicles. The design of license plate recognition algorithms has undergone digitalization through the utilization of neural networks. In contemporary times, there is a growing demand for vehicle surveillance due to the need for efficient vehicle processing and traffic management. The design, development, and implementation of a license plate recognition system hold significant social, economic, and academic importance. The study aims to present contemporary methodologies and empirical findings pertaining to automated license plate recognition. The primary focus of the automatic license plate recognition algorithm was on image extraction, character segmentation, and recognition. The task of character segmentation has been identified as the most challenging function based on my observations. The license plate recognition project that we designed demonstrated the effectiveness of this method across various observed conditions. Particularly in low-light environments, such as during periods of limited illumination or inclement weather characterized by precipitation. The method has been subjected to testing using a sample size of fifty images, resulting in a 100% accuracy rate. The findings of this study demonstrate the project’s ability to effectively determine the optimal outcomes of simulations.
