A new three-parameter discrete distribution called the zero-inflated cosine geometric(ZICG)distribution is proposed for the first time *** can be used to analyze over-dispersed count data with excess *** basic statistical properties of the new distribution,such as the moment generating function,mean,and variance are ***,confidence intervals are constructed by using the Wald,Bayesian,and highest posterior density(HPD)methods to estimate the true confidence intervals for the parameters of the ZICG *** efficacies were investigated by using both simulation and real-world data comprising the number of daily COVID-19 positive cases at the Olympic Games in Tokyo *** results show that the HPD interval performed better than the other methods in terms of coverage probability and average length in most cases studied.

This work focuses on radial basis functions containing no parameters with themain objective being to comparatively explore more of their *** this,a total of sixteen forms of shapeless radial basis functions are gathered and investigated under the context of the pattern recognition problem through the structure of radial basis function neural networks,with the use of the Representational Capability(RC)*** sizes of datasets are disturbed with noise before being imported into the algorithm as‘training/testing’*** shapeless radial basis function is monitored carefully with effectiveness criteria including accuracy,condition number(of the interpolation matrix),CPU time,CPU-storage requirement,underfitting and overfitting aspects,and the number of centres being *** the sake of comparison,the well-known Multiquadric-radial basis function is included as a representative of shape-contained radial basis *** numerical results have revealed that some forms of shapeless radial basis functions show good potential and are even better than Multiquadric itself indicating strongly that the future use of radial basis function may no longer face the pain of choosing a proper shape when shapeless forms may be equally(or even better)effective.

Physicochemical characteristics and in vitro antioxidant activities of four pyroligneous acids carbonized from the wastes of wood species including Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana Linn.), Durian (Durio zibethinus L.), Rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.), and Langsat (Lansium domesticum Serr.) were assessed. Appearing as transparent liquors with pH 3.9–4.2, the pyroligneous acid samples under test possessed acetic acid (23.22–25.46%) as the dominant component. The total soluble tar, total acid, and water content were 0.15 - 0.28 wt%, 99–192 mg KOH/g and 84.5–93.5 wt%, respectively. Phenolic compounds namely: 2,6-dimethoxyphenol (6.88–9.69%),phenol (2.97–5.88%), 4-methylsyringol (3.10–3.56%), guaiacol (2.36–3.55%), and 2-methoxy-4-methylphenol (1.08–1.28%) were found. All had in vitro antioxidant activities especially mangosteen pyroligneous acid, which showed activity roughly similar to BHT (P>0.05) against anti-lipid peroxidation. Nitric oxide scavenging capacities of all pyroligneous acids were significantly higher than BHT (P<0.05). Our results suggest that pyroligneous acids from the four types of branch waste could be used as sources of beneficial natural antioxidants, possibly as food or feed additives to protect against lipid peroxidation, and potentially also in veterinary medicine in anti-inflammatory products.

Objective: To identify the monoclonal antibody specific to Aeromonas spp., a Gram negative bacteria causing gastroenteritis and wound infection. Methods: The monoclone, namely 88 F2-3 F4, was produced from hybridoma technology. The specificity of antibody secreted from 88 F2-3 F4 was tested against other Gram negative bacteria frequently found in gastrointestinal tract. Then the antibody was used for searching Aeromonas antigens in artificial seeded rectal swab cultures by dot-blot enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. Results: 88 F2-3 F4 produced an antibody that recognized an antigen with a molecular mass of 8.5 k Da in all 123 isolates of the seven Aeromonas species tested, but recognized no epitope of any other Gram-negative bacterium typically found in the gastrointestinal tract. A dot-blot enzyme linked immunosorbent assay based on this antibody showed 86.49% sensitivity and 92.13% specificity. Conclusions: 88 F2-3 F4 monoclonal antibody could react with all Aeromonas isolates, but not other Gram negative bacteria, therefore it should be a useful tool for the detection of Aeromonas antigen in clinical and environmental samples.

Combined Effect of Garlic Juice and Sa-Tay Marinade on Quality Changes of Oyster Meat during Chilled Storage

Traditionally, meat has been marinated to improve yield, flavor, tenderness, and may increase product shelf life. Sa-tay is a popular dish in Thai restaurant. Physical, chemical, microbiological and sensory qualities after the oyster meat treated with garlic 0, 2 ml of garlic juice then marinated with Sa-tay condiment (8%, wt/wt) were monitored during chilled storage, 4℃ ± 2℃. pH and glycogen content of all treatments decreased while TVB, lactic acid content, ammonia content and K-value increased as storage time. A TBARS, rancidity indicator, of the control was higher compared with other treatments. Mesophilic and lactic acid bacteria of all treatments particularly the oyster treated with the juice increased as storage time increased. However, psychrophilic bacteria, coliforms, fecal coliforms, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella spp. and Vibrio spp. were low throughout the storage. Consumer acceptability scores of all treatments were higher than borderline (>5) at the end of the storage, 12 days.

The favorite soup for Thai particularly in the southern part is Southern sour curry or Keang-hleung soup. The ingredients used in the paste are turmeric rhizome, garlic, shallot and chili. However, for making the sour soup, the souring agent such as lime juice, tamarind pod or garcinia, fruit is added. This study aimed to compare quality changes, total phenolic compound and antioxidant properties of the pastes as affected of added garicia fruit during storage. It was found that the total phenolic compound content of basic paste without the garcinia, garcinia Keang-hleung paste and garcinia Keang-hleung paste without salt decreased as increased storage time. Moreover, the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging activity and the ferric reducing power (FRAP) activity of the basic paste without the garcinia decreased as increased storage time. However, the DPPH radical scavenging activity and the FRAP activity of the garcinia Keang-hleung paste with and without salt increased during 2 months of storage period and then decreased as increased storage time. Total viable count (TVC) of all paste samples were in the range of 102 - 103 cfu/g. Yeast and mold counts of basic and garcinia Keang-hlueng paste were less than 30 cfu/g during storage. While, yeast and mold counts of garcinia Keang-hlueng paste without salt were less than 102 cfu/g during storage. Lactic acid bacteria counts of garcinia Keang-hlueng paste were less than 30 cfu/g during storage. While, lactic acid bacteria counts of the basic and garcinia Keang-hlueng paste without salt were less than 102 cfu/g during storage. However, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacilluus cereus, Clostridium perfringens, Salmonella spp., Escherichia coli and coliforms were not detected in all treatments throughout the storage period.

In this case series we describe the anaesthetic management of atrial ablation for arrhythmia in three post heart transplant patients. These patients provide a unique challenge to the anaesthesiologist, as heart physiology, end organs effects, procedural related factors should all be part of the specific anaesthetic plan tailored for each patient individually. The different anaesthetic techniques applied, and procedure related complications are evaluated. Anaesthetic management, procedural related difficulties, pharmacologic aspects, and possible associated complications are reviewed.

AIM:To compare the exposure rate,infection rate,percentage of enhancement,and success rate between Medpor and the three-dimensional printed polyethylene(3DP-PE)orbital implant in a preliminary ***:This prospective,randomized,equivalence,controlled trial was conducted at two *** equivalent margin was±10%.The sample size for the equivalence trial was 174 participants per *** who were eligible for enucleations received either Medpor or 3DP-PE implants based on a randomized block of *** surgeries were performed by five oculoplastic *** assessor and patients were *** magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)of the orbit was performed at least 6mo after operation and the fibrovascular ingrowth was analyzed using the Image J ***-up continued at least 1y after *** intention to treat and per protocol approaches were ***:Totally 128 patients met the criteria in the *** Medpor and 553DP-PE cases completed the *** most common cause of blindness was *** mean follow-up times of Medpor and 3DP-PE were 33 and 40mo *** exposure rate was not statistically significant between two groups(6.0%and 7.3%),P<0.05,95%CI(-9.8%,+12.0%).The success rates were 94%(Medpor)and 92.7%(3DP-PE).No postoperative infection was *** patients had MRI tests and two had implant exposures with 66.3% enhancement at 75mo(Medpor)and 58% enhancement at 57mo(3DP-PE)***:There is no statistically significant difference in exposure rate and success rate between Medpor and 3DP-PE in enucleation in the ***,we cannot conclude that they are equivalent in terms of the exposure rate and success rate because the 95%CI is wider than±10%.The infection rate is equivalent in both groups.

Effect of Lipids and Thermal Processing on Antioxidant Activities of Tested Antioxidants and Tom-Kha Paste Extract

The effect of lipids on antioxidant activities of tested antioxidants and Tom-Kha paste extract was determined in the food system. 2,2’-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2’-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) diammonium salt (ABTS) scavenging activity, peroxide value (PV), thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) and p-anisidine value (AV) were methods for determining. The result showed that heating at 121°C for 15 min caused decreasing on DPPH scavenging activity of lauric acid but didn’t affect ABTS scavenging activity of both lauric acid and virgin coconut oil. DPPH scavenging activity of all mixtures was significantly decreased (p p-hydroxycinnamic acid and Tom-Kha paste extract in both lauric acid and virgin coconut oil systems increased after thermal processing. In food systems of lauric acid, PV of almost mixtures except lauric acid-Tom-Kha paste extract 2:1 and lauric acid-Trolox 15:1 was increased after heating. TBARS value of the mixtures was not significantly different (p?≥ 0.05) after thermal processing. AV of only lauric acid-gallic was enhanced after heating. PV of virgin coconut oil added with all tested antioxidant was not changed after heating. TBARS of virgin coconut oil added with antioxidant samples seemed to slightly increase after heating. AV of virgin coconut oil with added gallic acid and Tom-Kha paste extract were not changed by heat treatment while AV of virgin coconut oil with added p-hydroxycinnamic acid and Trolox seemed to decrease after heating.
