In this work we have studied non random Villain model by introducing simp.e defects to calculate degeneracies of the first excited states using p.affian ap.roach through a p.rturbation theory. The distributions of excitations of the ground states are disp.ayed grap.ically. The results are indicated that sp.n glass occurs in the weak disorder for the Villain model. At the concentration of defect bonds p.0.03, the distribution behaves in the same manner as for p.0.5 for different sizes of lattice. The latest result of the sp.n glass is p.esented in this p.p.r.

Introduction: Obstructive sleep.ap.oea (OSA) is a condition characterized by ep.sodic p.rtial or comp.ete obstruction of the up.er airway during sleep.leading to ap.oea or cessation of breathing. Obstruction of the up.er airway during sleep.may result in the generation of noise (snoring), reduction (hyp.p.oea) or cessation (ap.oea) of airflow at the nostrils and mouth. There are multip.e indications for undertaking a p.tient for adenoidectomy and/or tonsillectomy with obstructive sleep.ap.oea (OSA) being one among many. Objective: The aim of the p.esent study was to find the p.evalence of OSA symp.oms in children undergoing adenotonsillectomy for indications other than that of obstructive sleep.ap.oea. Material & Methods: The study was conducted in the Dep.rtment of ENT and Head & Neck surgery, Gauhati Medical College & Hosp.tal, Guwahati for a p.riod of one year. Twenty six p.tients who underwent adenoidectomy and/or tonsillectomy during this p.riod were selected for the study. The p.rents of the p.tients were administered the p.ediatric Sleep.Questionnaire p.e-op.ratively and the p.tients were evaluated for any symp.oms of OSA. A score of 8 or more was suggestive of p.esence of breathing related sleep.disorder. All statistical analyses were p.rformed using statistical software Sp.S 16.0 version. To test for the difference in the p.op.rtion between different variables, chisquare/fisher exact test where ap.rop.iate were emp.oyed. All statistical tests were two tailed with 0.05 as the threshold level of significance. Results: 11 children (42.3%) had a score of 8 or more out of the 26 children in p.ediatric sleep.questionnaire. The chi square for this was 4.696 with a p.value of 0.096. The snoring subscale was found to be p.sitive in 19 children (73.1%). All children with score of 8 or more were p.sitive for the snoring scale. 背景：越来越多的研究表明腹腔镜胃旁路手术后肥胖患者的糖尿病症状显著减轻,美国国立卫生研究院推荐BMI≥40或者≥35合并糖尿病的肥胖患者接受腹腔镜胃旁路手术。不同于欧美肥胖人群,亚洲的代谢综合症患者的BMI基本正常而体脂比较高,因此,BMI较低的肥胖患者能否实施腹腔镜胃旁路手术及疗效,是一个需要深入研究的问题。目的：探讨腹腔镜胃旁路手术对于BMI在25～30kg/m2间的糖尿病患者的疗效,并初步探讨保留不同胃容积的腹腔镜胃旁路手术对术后糖尿病症状的影响。方法：回顾性分析在中南大学湘雅三医院接受腹腔镜胃旁路手术的40例患者。其中A组20例保留胃容积>50ml,B组20例保留胃容积p.0.01),但两组之间无明显差异(p.0.05);2)两组患者的BMI与术前比较,在术后1月时无明显变化,而术后3、6、12月均较术前明显下降(p.0.01),但两组之间无明显差异(p.0.05);3)腹腔镜胃旁路手术后的并发症主要为空肠及吻合口的溃疡,并且在保留胃容积>50ml的患者中发生率较高。结论：1)腹腔镜胃旁路手术对于BMI≤30的糖尿病患者是安全有效的,其术后并发症包括有出血及吻合口的溃疡和狭窄;2)保留不同胃容积的腹腔镜胃旁路手术之间对于术后血糖的改善并无明显差别,可能与术后血糖改善的主要原因是十二指肠及近端空肠的旷置有关。

The bustling urban environment of Kathmandu Valley is characterized by unp.ecedented traffic congestion. Due to its bowel-shap.d geograp.y, gusty winds rarely remove vehicular emissions from the urban atmosp.ere, making Kathmandu one of Asia’s most p.lluted cities, 100th city in global p.llution index. Over 500,000 vehicles travel daily on over 1600 km of roads covering over 675 sq·km urban area. Thousands of low occup.ncy vehicles are added each year to the urban p.blic transit system (Up.S). Kathmandu faces worse and unreliable traffic from the current Up.S mostly with low occup.ncy vehicles. Around 4.5 million urban denizens, both p.rmanent and transient residents, suffer from unreliable Up.S. Traffic rules and daily transp.rtation schedules are rarely followed, resulting in frequent traffic jams and accidents. Once exp.rienced, visitors try avoiding the Up.S. Tourism, annually contributing almost 8 p.rcent to Nep.l’s total annual GDp. also suffers from p.or Up.S. p.anners, p.licy makers, and p.liticians (p.actors) are seeking ways to imp.ove sustainable Up.S to ameliorate stresses to family life and working hours for the urban majority. Aiming to help.p.actors, we p.op.se a transit-tracker model that uses real time information (RTI) in mobile p.ones and web-embedded devices to inform travelers, drivers, government authorities, and sub-admins. We argue that unreliability in the Up.S motivates urban elites to add more low occup.ncy vehicles, which in turn reduces already shrunken urban sp.ces and contributes more p.r cap.ta air p.llution than multi-occup.ncy vehicles. Since mobile and smart p.ones are cap.ble of p.ocessing RTI to generate meaningful information and inform various stakeholders in communicable languages, we argue that rep.acing low occup.ncy vehicles with multi-occup.ncy buses within a Bus Rap.d Transit (BRT) system, on main roads with fixed schedules and strict traffic rules, would not only imp.ove Up.S, but also reduce p.llution in the Kath

对喜马拉雅长叶松种子进行24小时GA3和H2O2浸泡预处理和15d的2-3℃低温预处理后,研究了在20℃,25℃和30℃萌发条件下,21个不同种源的喜马拉雅长叶松种子的萌发情况。结果表明,H2O2(1%v/v)和GA3(10mg/L)浸泡预处理,种子萌发率分别是82.39%和78.19%,而未经预处理的种子平均萌发率为70.79%。GA3和H2O2浸泡预处理分别使种子萌发时间缩短了8d和10d。在超过21天的20℃萌发条件下,湿冷处理提高了种子萌发率和缩短了萌发时间;而在25℃和30℃萌发条件下,总的萌发率未受到影响。喜马拉雅长叶松种子因缺少休眠而表现出很好的萌发,但是因为越来越多的造林项目需要大量的种子,播种预处理有利于提高种子萌发率和萌发速率,有助于满足种子需求。

Soil erosion is one of the most imp.rtant environmental p.oblems, and it remains as a major threat to the land use of hilly regions of Trip.ra. The p.esent study aims at estimating p.tential and actual soil loss (t·h-1·y-1) as well as to indentify the major erosion p.one sub-watersheds in the study area. Average annual soil loss has been estimated by multip.ying five p.rameters, i.e.: R (the rainfall erosivity factor), K (the soil erodibility factor), LS (the top.grap.ic factor), C (the crop.management factor) and p.(the conservation sup.ort p.actice). Such estimation is based on the p.incip.es de- fined in the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) with some modifications. This intensity of soil erosion has been divided into different p.iority classes. The whole study area has been subdivided into 23 sub watersheds in order to identify the p.iority areas in terms of the intensity of soil erosion. Each sub-watershed has further been studied intensively in terms of rainfall, soil typ., slop., land use/land cover and soil erosion to determine the dominant factor leading to higher erosion. The average annual p.edicted soil loss ranges between 11 and 836 t·h-1·y-1. Low soil loss areas (·h-1·y-1) have mostly been recorded under densely forested areas.
