Centromere positioning and organization are crucial for genome evolution;however,research on centro-mere biology is largely influenced by the quality of available genome ***,we combined Oxford nanopore and Pacific Biosciences technologies to de novo assemble two high-quality reference genomes for Gossypium hirsutum(TM-1)and Gossypium barbadense(3-79).Compared with previously published reference genomes,our assemblies show substantial improvements,with the contig n50 improved by 4.6-fold and 5.6-fold,respectively,and thus represent the most complete cotton genomes to *** high-quality reference genomes enable us to characterize 14 and 5 complete centromeric regions for *** and ***,*** data revealed that the centromeres of allotetraploid cotton are occupied by members of the centromeric repeat for maize(CRM)and Tekay long terminal repeat families,and the CRM family reshapes the centromere structure of the At subgenome after *** two intertwined families have driven the convergent evolution of centromeres between the two subgenomes,ensuring centromere function and genome *** addition,the reposi-tioning and high sequence divergence of centromeres between *** and *** have contributed to speciation and centromere *** study sheds light on centromere evolution in a sig-nificant crop and provides an alternative approach for exploring the evolution of polyploid plants.

Interest has recently emerged in potential applications of (n, 2n) reactions of unstable nuclei. Challenges have arisen because of the scarcity of experimental cross-sectional data. This study aims to predict the (n, 2n) reaction cross-section of long-lived fission products based on a tensor model. This tensor model is an extension of the collaborative filtering algorithm used for nuclear data. It is based on tensor decomposition and completion to predict (n, 2n) reaction cross-sections; the corresponding EXFOR data are applied as training data. The reliability of the proposed tensor model was validated by comparing the calculations with data from EXFOR and different databases. The shuttle effect of polysulfides is one of the key factors hindering the commercialization of lithiumsulfur batteries(LSBs).Owing to their high conductivity and advantageous structure,heterostructures can be used in sulfur fixation and catalysis of *** this study,a flower-shaped ZnO/ZnS heterostructure on a nitrogendoped porous carbon(nPC) sulfur host was *** ZnO/ZnS heterostructure regulates the electronic structure of the material and exhibits higher metal-like ***,the ZnO/ZnS heterostructure combines the strong adsorption property of ZnO and the high catalytic ability of ZnS to realize the anchoring-diffusionconversion of lithium poly sulfides(LiPSs).Results reveal that the developed ZnO/ZnS@nPC/S cathode has excellent electrochemical performance in LSBs,achieving a high discharge specific capacity of 1365.3 mAh·g^(-1) at 0.1C and excellent rate capability(719 mAh·g^(-1) at 2C;the capacity decay rate is only 0.042% per cycle after 1000 cycles).Even under a high sulfur loading-E/S(electrolyte/sulfur)ratio of 5.1 mg·cm^(-2)-6 μl·mg^(-1),a high specific capacity of 723.7 mAh·g^(-1) is maintained after 60 *** study provides a new strategy for a multifunctional sulfur host that can effectively alleviate the shuttle effect of LiPSs and improve the utilization of sulfur active substances.

We review recent progress in the electronic structure study of intrinsic magnetic topological insulators（MnBi2Te4）·（Bi2Te3）n（n = 0, 1, 2, 3） family. Specifically, we focus on the ubiquitously（nearly）gapless behavior of the topological Dirac surface state observed by photoemission spectroscopy, even though a large Dirac gap is expected because of surface ferromagnetic order. The dichotomy between experiment and theory concerning this gap behavior is perhaps the most critical and puzzling question in this frontier. We discuss various proposals accounting for the lack of magnetic effect on the topological Dirac surface state, which are mainly categorized into two pictures, magnetic reconfiguration and topological surface state redistribution. Band engineering towards opening a magnetic gap of topological surface states provides great opportunities to realize quantized topological transport and axion electrodynamics at higher temperatures.

Microalgal-indigenous bacterial wastewater treatment(MBWT)emerges as a promising approach for the concurrent removal of nitrogen(n)and phosphorus(P).Despite its potential,the prevalent use of MBWT in batch systems limits its broader ***,the success of MBWT critically depends on the stable self-adaptation and synergistic interactions between microalgae and indigenous bacteria,yet the underlying biological mechanisms are not fully *** we explore the viability and microbial dynamics of a continuous flow microalgae-indigenous bacteria advanced wastewater treatment system(CFMBAWTS)in processing actual secondary effluent,with a focus on varying hydraulic retention times(HRTs).The research highlights a stable,mutually beneficial relationship between indigenous bacteria and *** and indigenous bacteria can create an optimal environment for each other by providing essential cofactors(like iron,vitamins,and indole-3-acetic acid),oxygen,dissolved organic matter,and *** collaboration leads to effective microbial growth,enhanced n and P removal,and energy *** study also uncovers crucial metabolic pathways,functional genes,and patterns of microbial ***,the effluent nH4 t-n and P levels complied with the Chinese national Class-II,Class-V,Class-IA,and Class-IB wastewater discharge standards when the HRT was reduced from 15 to 6 *** results,including the highest rates of CO2 fixation(1.23 g L^(-1)),total energy yield(32.35 kJ L^(-1)),and the maximal lipid(33.91%)and carbohydrate(41.91%)content,were observed at an HRT of 15 ***,this study not only confirms the feasibility of CFMBAWTS but also lays a crucial foundation for enhancing our understanding of this technology and propelling its practical application in wastewater treatment plants.

Scalable deposition of high-efficiency perovskite solar cells(PSCs)is critical to accelerating their commercial ***,a significant number of defects are distributed at the buried interface of perovskite film fabricated by scalable deposition,exhibiting much negative influence on the efficiency and stability of ***,2-(n-morpholino)ethanesulfonic acid potassium salt(MESK)is incorporated as the bridging layer between the tin oxide(SnO_(2))electron transport layer(ETL)and the perovskite film deposited via scalable two-step doctor *** experiment and simulation results demonstrate that MESK can passivate the trap states of Sn suspension bonds,thereby enhancing the charge extraction and transport of the SnO_(2)***,the strong interaction with uncoordinated Pb ions can modulate the crystal growth and crystallographic orientation of perovskite film and passivate buried *** employing MESK interface bridging,PSCs fabricated via scalable doctor blading in ambient condition achieve a power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 24.67%,which is one of the highest PCEs for doctor-bladed PSCs,and PSC modules with an active area of 11.35 cm^(2)achieve a PCE of 19.45%.Furthermore,PSCs exhibit excellent long-term stability,and the unpackaged target device with a storage of 1680 h in ambient condition(25℃and humidity of 30%relative humidity(RH))can maintain more than 90%of the initial *** research provides a strategy for constructing a high-performance interface bridge between SnO_(2)ETL and perovskite film,and achieving efficient and stable large-area PSCs and modules fabricated via scalable doctor-blading process in ambient condition.

Aqueous rechargeable batteries(ARBs)are generally safer than non-aqueous analogues,they are also less-expensive,and more friendly to the ***,the inherent disadvantage of the narrow electrochemical window of H2O seriously restricts the energy density and output voltage of ARBs,especially aqueous rechargeable Fe-based ***,we introduce a new battery system:the anode contains C@Fe/Fe_(2)O_(3)composite,which is interfaced with an alkaline electrolyte;the cathode contains LiMn_(2)O_()in contact with a neutral electrolyte.A Li^(+)-conducting membrane is carefully selected to decouple the electrode-electrolyte,which effectively widens the electrochemical window to above 2.65 V,thereby enables an aqueous rechargeable iron *** average output voltage is 1.83 V and its energy density is 235.3 Wh/kg at 549 W/*** this work,we propose the energy storage mechanism with the aid of density functional theory(DFT).The calculated reduction potential of the anode agrees with the experimental ***,this battery system demonstrates long cycle lifespan of approximately 2500 cycles at 2 A/g,corresponding to a capacity retention of 82.1%.These results are very far superior than those of mainstream aqueous rechargeable Fe-based batteries,which guarantee future investigation for storing electricity energy.
