Pregnancy and the disease recurrence of patients previously treated for differentiated thyroid cancer:A systematic review and meta analysis

Background:Differentiated thyroid cancer(DTC)is commonly diagnosed in women of child-bearing age,but whether pregnancy influences the prognosis of DTC remains *** study aimed to summarize existing evidence regarding the association of pregnancy with recurrence risk in patients previously treated for ***:We searched PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,Cochrane,and Scopus based on the prespecified protocol registered at PROSPERO(CRD42022367896).After study selection,two researchers independently extracted data from the included *** quantitative data synthesis,we used random-effects meta-analysis models to pool the proportion of recurrence(for pregnant women only)and odds ratio(OR;comparing the risk of recurrence between the pregnancy group and the nonpregnancy group),*** we conducted subgroup analyses to explore whether risk of recurrence differed by response to therapy status or duration of follow-up *** also assessed quality of the included ***:A total of ten studies were *** sample size ranged from 8 to 235,with participants’age at pregnancy or delivery ranging from 28 to 35 *** follow-up time varied from 0.1 to 36.0 *** pooled proportion of recurrence in all pregnant patients was 0.13(95%confidence intervals[CI]:0.06-0.25;I^(2):0.58).Among six included studies reporting response to therapy status before pregnancy,we observed a trend for increasingly higher risk of recurrence from excellent,indeterminate,and biochemically incomplete to structurally incomplete response to therapy(P trend0.05)or the OR of recurrence in studies with a comparison group(P>0.05).Two included studies t

The yellow seed trait is preferred by breeders for its potential to improve the seed quality and commercial value of Brassica *** the present study,we produced yellow seed mutants using a CRISPR/Cas9 system when the two BnPAP2 homologs were knocked *** staining of the seed coat demonstrated that proanthocyanidin accumulation was significantly reduced in the pap2 double mutants and decreased specifically in the endothelial and palisade layer cells of the seed *** and metabolite profiling analysis suggested that disruption of the BnPAP2 genes could reduce the expression of structural and regulated genes in the phenylpropanoid and flavonoid biosynthetic *** broad suppression of these genes might hinder proanthocyanidin accumulation during seed development,and thereby causing the yellow seed trait in *** results indicate that BnPAP2 might play a vital role in the regulatory network controlling proanthocyanidin accumulation.

Epidemiology of Leprosy in China,2021:An Update

Objective:Leprosy is an infectious diseases that remains a concerning public health *** infection of Mycobacterium leprae still exists at the county level in hard-to-access areas in southwest *** accurate analysis of the prevalence of leprosy in various regions is necessary for the formulation of prevention and control strategies,so we conducted this study to describe the epidemiological characteristics of leprosy in China in 2021 and provide essential information for future national leprosy control and prevention ***:We collected epidemiological data of leprosy from 31 provinces,autonomous regions,and municipalities of China(except for Hong Kong,Macao,and Taiwan)provided by the Leprosy Management Information *** performed a comparative analysis of the epidemiological features of patients with leprosy including age,sex,geographical distribution,and grade of ***:In total,374 newly detected leprosy cases were reported nationwide in China in 2021,giving an incidence rate of 0.27 per million population,which represented a decrease of 7.9%compared with *** the population with leprosy in 2021 that comprised 238 males(63.6%)and 136 females(36.4%),1.9%(7/374)were children younger than 15 years,92.8%(347/374)had multibacillary leprosy,and 18.2%(68/374)had grade 2 *** than half of the new leprosy cases(54.8%,205/374)were distributed in southwest *** were 33 relapsed leprosy cases reported in *** the end of 2021,there were 1,897 registered leprosy cases reported nationwide,giving a prevalence rate of 1.35 per million ***:The leprosy epidemic in China shows a downward trend in terms of the prevalence and incidence ***,the high prevalence of leprosy in southwest China is still a matter of concern.

Evaluating the Compatibility Mechanism of Shengxian Decoction Based on an Excretion Study of 18 Bioactive Constituents in Rat Biosamples

Introduction:The Shengxian decoction(SXT),a Chinese herbal medication used to treat heart failure,is composed of Astragali Radix,Anemarrhenae Rhizoma,Bupleuri Radix,Cimicifuage Rhizoma,and Platycodonis *** of the excretion of the active compounds in this herbal medication is vital for investigating the underlying mechanisms behind its ***,this remains ***:Liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry was performed in both positive and negative modes to assay 18 constituents of SXT from rat urinary,fecal,and biliary ***:The methodology was validated and showed good linearity(r≥0.9),precision,stability,repeatability,and *** relative standard deviations and relative errors for the precision and accuracy did not exceed 15%.The recoveries of all the compounds ranged from 77.37%to 114.82%,and the matrix effect was between 82.53%and 105.71%.The results suggested that,when combined with Platycodonis Radix,the levels of 14 constituents from the four herbs were reduced in the urine,while the levels of six constituents were reduced in the ***:The comparative excretion results indicated that Platycodonis Radix reduced the excretion of compounds in SXT,demonstrating the compatibility mechanism and holistic properties of these compounds,favoring the pharmacological effects of SXT.

Recent trends suggest that Chinese herbal medicine formulas(CHM formulas)are promising treatments for complex *** characterize the precise syndromes,precise diseases and precise targets of the precise targets between complex diseases and CHM formulas,we developed an artificial intelligence-based quantitative predictive algorithm(DeepTCM).DeepTCM has gone through multilevel model calibration and validation against a comprehensive set of herb and disease data so that it accurately captures the complex cellular signaling,molecular and theoretical levels of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).As an example,our model simulated the optimal CHM formulas for the treatment of coronary heart disease(CHD)with depression,and through model sensitivity analysis,we calculated the balanced scoring of the ***,we constructed a biological knowledge graph representing interactions by associating herb-target and gene-disease ***,we experimentally confirmed the therapeutic effect and pharmacological mechanism of a novel model-predicted intervention in humans and *** novel multiscale model opened up a new avenue to combine“disease syndrome”and“macro micro”system modeling to facilitate translational research in CHM formulas.

Aqueous Zn batteries are promising candidates for grid-scale renewable energy *** electrodes have been widely investigated and applied as anode materials for aqueous Zn batteries,however,they suffer from limited surface area and severe interfacial issues including metallic dendrites and corrosion side reactions,limiting the depth of discharge(DOD)of the foil electrode ***,a low-temperature replacement reaction is utilized to in-situ construct a three-dimensional(3D)corrosion-resistant interface for deeply rechargeable Zn foil ***,the deliberate low-temperature environment controlled the replacement rate between polycrystalline Zn metal and oxalic acid,producing a Zn foil electrode with distinct 3D corrosion-resistant interface(3DCI-Zn),which differed from conventional two-dimensional(2D)protective structure and showed an order of magnitude higher surface ***,the 3DCI-Zn electrode exhibited dendrite-free and anticorrosion properties,and achieved stable plating/stripping performance for 1000 h at 10 mA cm^(-2)and 10 mAh cm^(-2)with a remarkable DOD of 79%.After pairing with a MnO2cathode with a high areal capacity of 4.2 mAh cm^(-2),the pouch cells delivered 168 Wh L^(-1)and a capacity retention of 89.7%after 100 cycles with a low negative/positive(N/P)ratio of 3:1.

New indole derivatives from endophytic fungus Colletotruchum sp. HK-08 originated from leaves of Nerium indicum

Objective: To study secondary metabolites from endophytic fungus Colletotruchum sp. HK-08 originated from the leaves of Nerium ***: The compounds were isolated by various column chromatographic techniques, and their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic techniques [high resolution electrospray ionization mass spectroscopy(HRESIMS), one-dimensional(1D) and two-dimensional(2D) nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(NMR)], as well as comparison with literature data. The Ellman method was used to determine the acetylcholinesterase(ACh E) inhibitory ***: Four indole derivatives were identified from Colletotruchum sp. HK-08, including 6’-hydroxymonaspiloindole(1), 2-(2-oxoindolin-3-yl)ethyl 2-(4-hydroxyphenyl) acetate(2), 2-(2-oxoindolin-3-yl)ethyl 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)acetate(3), and monaspiloindole(4). Compound 4 presented weak ACh E inhibitory activity with IC50value of(69.30 ± 6.27) μmol/L [tacrine as the positive control, with IC50value of(0.61 ± 0.07) μmol/L].Conclusion: Compounds 1–3 were new compounds, and compound 4 had weak ACh E inhibitory activity.
