The acute and chronic effect of low temperature on survival, heart rate and neural function in crayfish (<i>Procambarus clarkii</i>) and prawn (<i>Macrobrachium rosenbergii</i>) species

The effect of acute and chronic cold exposure on heart rate (HR) and neuronal function in crayfish Procambarus clarkii and prawns Macrobrachium rosenbergii was addressed. This is particularly important since prawn farms of this species are used for aquaculture in varied climates world wide. The success of P. clarkii as an invasive species throughout the world may in part be due to their ability to acclimate to cold and warm habitats. A set of experiments was devised to address the physiological abilities of these species in managing rapid changes to cold environments as well as their ability to respond to sensory stimuli by using behavior and a bioindex of HR. Prawns died within 2 hrs when moved from 21℃ to 5℃. Crayfish reduced their HR but survived for at least a week with this rapid change. Changes in temperature of 5℃ each week resulted in death of the prawns when 10℃ was reached. Some died at 16℃ and some lasted at 10℃ for 1 day before dying. Crayfish remained responsive to sensory stimuli and survived with either rapid or slow changes in temperature from 21℃ to 5℃. Primary sensory neurons were rapidly inhibited in prawns with an acute change to 5℃, where as in crayfish the activity was reduced but not completely inhibited. An induced sensory-CNS-motor circuit elicited activity at neuromuscular junctions in prawns and crayfish at 21℃ but with acute changes to 5℃only in crayfish was the circuit functionally intact. The ability to survive rapid environmental temperature changes will impact survival and in time the distribution of a species. The significance of these findings is that they may account, in part, for the wide ecological distribution of P. clarkii as compared to M. rosenbergii. The invasiveness of organisms, as for P. clarkii, is likely linked to the physiological robustness to acute and chronic temperature changes of habitats.

Mesozoic magmatism occurred extensively in the North China block(NCB) and the Dabie-Sulu orogen(DSO) post-dating the North-South China collision,resulting in abundant intrusive and volcanic rocks ranging from basic to acidic *** intermediate-acidic intrusive rocks can be grouped into two types,namely high-Ba-Sr granitoids and low-Ba-Sr granitoids that both have distinct geochemical *** high-Ba -Sr granitoids are similar in most of the incompatible trace element systematics to the associated basic rocks,which probably originated from melting of subcontinental lithospheric mantle,indicating significant mantle contributions to them. Geochemical similarities are observed between the basic rocks from the NCB and DSO,implying a regional-scale magmagenerating mechanism and that mantle enrichment beneath the DSO was independent from the Triassic deep continental subduction in the *** therefore interpret that the Mesozoic magmatism resulted from delamination of the ancient lithospheric mantle beneath the eastern part of North China.

The accuracy of MODIS aerosol products from the NASA Terra Satellite is validated in comparison with the results of sun-photometer observations in Beijing and Hong Kong. By analyzing the MODIS aerosol products within the period of August 2000 to April 2003, it is believed that human activities are the main source of aerosols in the eastern part of China. This is based on the facts that all areas with relatively high values are consistent with regions of dense population and fast economic development, such as the North China Plain, the Sichuan Basin and the Pearl River Delta. It is also supported by the distribution of 舗gstr鰉 exponents showing that most aerosols in the eastern part of China are closely related to human activities, excepting the strong sandstorm episodes occurring in spring, fall and winter. In contrast to developed countries, the 舗gstr鰉 exponent of urban area in China is lower than its surroundings, indicating that the contribution of local floating dust and soot attributed to human activities is significant. Results presented in this paper provide important data for further research on climatic change and environmental study.

In this paper, on the bases of accomplishing two-centres transformation of electromagnetic multipole fields and of treating several kinds of Bessel integrals as well, the closed formulas corresponding to eight different kinds of dispersion interactions between molecules are derived by the use of Brueckner-Goldstone’s linked-cluster perturbation *** paper in which the long range interactions between molecules may be systematically investigated is divided into four parts. 采用量子化学计算方法在HF/6-31+G*水平下对高氯酸钠溶液中可能存在的离子缔合物种及浓度升高时溶液中发生的离子缔合过程进行了研究.高氯酸根与水合钠离子可形成溶剂共享离子对、接触离子对、三离子及多离子团簇等离子缔合物种,当体系中水比较充足时,钠离子可以保持较规整的六配位八面体构型,而当水分子比较少时,则生成不规则的五配位构型.以上水合离子缔合物种中的ν1-ClO4-频率与水合硝酸根中的参比值相比,分别发生4.7,8.5及14～17cm-1的蓝移,除以影响因子后,其与实验结果符合得很好.通过将计算结果与实验结果进行对比,高氯酸钠溶液在浓度升高时发生离子缔合的过程可简略表示为"自由水合离子→溶剂共享型离子对→单齿接触离子对→阳-阴-阳型三离子团簇→链状多离子团簇→网状多离子团簇→无定形晶体".这个过程与硫酸镁相似,而与硝酸镁、高氯酸镁和硝酸钠不同.

在H IV-1整合酶(IN)和5C ITEP复合物晶体结构的基础上,用分子对接程序(A ffin ity)将含有单Mg2+和双Mg2+的H IV-1 IN核心区与抑制剂5C ITEP进行对接,获得了能形成复合物结构的理论模型.通过配体与受体之间的相互作用能和结构分析给出此种抑制剂的结合模式,并与晶体结构进行比较,揭示出引入的第二个Mg2+原子在整合过程中所起的重要作用.前后相互作用能的变化趋势很明显,配体和受体的作用模式比单Mg2+体系更加清晰.由单Mg2+体系的4种作用方式改变到双Mg2+体系的两种作用方式,相互作用能提高了将近40 kJ/mol.为基于整合酶结构的药物设计提供了参考信息.
