Foreign bodies in the colon are encountered with increasing frequency, but only sporadic reports concerning their management have appeared in the literature. While most ingested foreign bodies usually pass through the gastrointestinal tract uneventfully, sharp foreign bodies such as toothpicks infrequently cause intestinal perforation and may even result in death. We report our experience with a patient with a sigmoid colon pseudodiverticulum formation, a complication of accidental ingestion of a toothpick that was diagnosed and successfully managed colonoscopically.

This paper investigates the low earth orbit(LEO)satellite-enabled coded compressed sensing(CCS)unsourced random access(URA)in orthogonal frequency division multiple access(OFDMA)framework,where a massive uniform planar array(UPA)is equipped on the *** LEO satellite communications,unavoidable timing and frequency offsets cause phase shifts in the transmitted signals,substantially diminishing the decoding performance of current terrestrial CCS URA *** cope with this issue,we expand the inner codebook with predefined timing and frequency offsets and formulate the inner decoding as a tractable compressed sensing(CS)***,we leverage the inherent sparsity of the UPA-equipped LEO satellite angular domain channels,thereby enabling the outer decoder to support more active ***,the outputs of the outer decoder are used to reduce the search space of the inner decoder,which cuts down the computational complexity and accelerates the convergence of the inner *** results verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

Inspired by the multi-layer architecture of mammal skins,interfacial robust,stretchable,and entirely healable gel-elastomer hybrids hold great potential in diverse fields including biomedical devices,wearable electrical devices,and soft ***,existing gel-elastomer hybrids have numerous limitations including low interfacial bonding toughness,complex and time-consuming preparation process,unhealable,and ***,we propose a simple and general chemical strategy through the interfacial dynamic bonding between gel and elastomer to simultaneously address the abovementioned *** covalent bonds readily and repeatably covalent bonding ionogel and elastomer(interfacial toughness:390 J m^(-2)),endowed the hybrids with entire self-healing features like skin and enabled discretionary assembly and ***,this strategy resolved the troublesome contradiction between interfacial stability and *** advantage of the aforementioned features,we readily constructed a multi-module,self-healing,self-powered,and realtime monitoring of personal status integrated elastic electronics,which could simply reconfigure the output signal of elastic electronics into an input signal of the devices-braille keyboard.

High-Efficiency Dynamic Terahertz Deflector Utilizing a Mechanically Tunable Metasurface

Terahertz (THz) wave manipulation, especially the beam deflection, plays an essential role in various applications, such as next-generation communication, space exploration, and high-resolution imaging. Current THz optical components and devices are hampered by their large bulk sizes and passive responses, limiting the development of high-performance, miniaturized THz microsystems. Tunable metasurfaces offer a powerful dynamic optical platform for controlling the propagation of electromagnetic waves. In this article, we presented a mechanically tunable metasurface (MTM), which can achieve terahertz beam deflection and vary the intensity of the anomalous reflected terahertz wave by changing the air gap between the metallic resonator (MR) array with phase discontinuities and Au ground plane. The absence of lossy spacer materials substantially enhances deflection efficiency. The device was fabricated by a combination of the surface and bulk-micromachining processes. The THz beam steering capability was characterized using terahertz time domain spectroscopy. When the air gap is 50 μm, the maximum deflection coefficient reaches 0.60 at 0.61 THz with a deflection angle of ~44.5°, consistent with theoretical predictions. We further established an electrically tunable miniaturized THz device for dynamic beam steering by introducing a micro voice coil motor to control the air gap continuously. It is shown that our designed MTM demonstrates a high modulation depth of deflection coefficient (~ 62.5%) in the target steered angle at the operating frequency. Our results showcase the potential of the proposed MTM as a platform for high-efficiency THz beam manipulation.

A reliable,efficient and electrically-pumped Si-based laser is considered as the main challenge to achieve the integration of all key building blocks with silicon *** the impressive advances that have been made in developing 1.3-μm Si-based quantum dot(QD)lasers,extending the wavelength window to the widely used 1.55-μm telecommunication region remains *** this study,we develop a novel photonic integration method of epitaxial growth of III-V on a wafer-scale InP-on-Si(100)(InPOS)heterogeneous substrate fabricated by the ion-cutting technique to realize integrated lasers on Si *** ion-cutting plus epitaxial growth approach decouples the correlated root causes of many detrimental dislocations during heteroepitaxial growth,namely lattice and domain *** this approach,we achieved state-of-the-art performance of the electrically-pumped,continuouswave(CW)1.55-μm Si-based laser with a room-temperature threshold current density of 0.65 kA/cm^(-2),and output power exceeding 155mW per facet without facet coating in CW *** lasing at 120℃ and pulsed lasing at over 130℃ were *** generic approach is also applied to other material systems to provide better performance and more functionalities for photonics and microelectronics.

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic autoimmune disease of the central nervous system and is generally considered to be a non-traumatic,physically debilitating neurological *** addition to experiencing motor disability,patients with multiple sclerosis also experience a variety of nonmotor symptoms,including cognitive deficits,anxiety,depression,sensory impairments,and ***,the pathogenesis and treatment of such non-motor symptoms in multiple scle rosis are still under *** studies for multiple sclerosis benefit from the use of disease-appropriate animal models,including experimental autoimmune *** to understanding the pathophysiology and developing treatments for non-motor symptoms,it is critical to chara cterize the animal model in terms of its ability to replicate certain non-motor features of multiple *** such,no single animal model can mimic the entire spectrum of *** review focuses on the non-motor symptoms that have been investigated in animal models of multiple sclerosis as well as possible underlying ***,we highlighted gaps in the literature to explain the nonmotor aspects of multiple sclerosis in expe rimental animal models,which will serve as the basis for future studies.

To solve the problems of excessive soil lumps,broken branches and seedlings in pods and difficulty in removing impurities in the harvested pods of peanuts in the hilly areas of southern China,which is due to the high soil viscosity and easy hardening,and to improve the soil removal effect of the peanut half-feed pod picker in hilly areas of China,this article designed a half-feed peanut-cleaning picker suitable for southern clay hilly areas and provided a detailed introduction to the overall structure,working principle,and adjustment methods of various operating *** field measurement experiments,the influencing factors and laws of soil removal performance indicators,such as the comprehensive soil removal rate and POD drop rate,were *** results showed that the comprehensive soil removal rate gradually increased with increasing soil patting frequency,soil patting amplitude,and picking roller speed,first increased and then decreased with increasing picking roller gap and gradually decreased with increasing soil patting plate gap and clamping conveyor chain *** comprehensive soil removal rate of the soil patting plate using the opposite patting method was greater than that of the swinging patting *** soil removal pod drop rate increased gradually with increasing soil patting frequency and amplitude and decreased with increasing soil patting plate gap and clamping conveyor chain *** soil removal pod drop rate of the soil patting plate using swing patting was lower than that using the opposite patting *** speed and gap of the picking roller had no effect on the soil removal pod drop *** frequency,amplitude,form,and gap of the soil patting plate had extremely significant impacts on the rate of decrease in the number of soil removal pod drop *** clamping conveyor chain speed had a significant impact,while the speed and gap of the picking roller had no significant *** influence of all factors on the comprehens
