Objectiv:To explore the myoblast formation around the urethra and increase in urethral resistance of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells or muscle-like cells/calcium alginate composite gel injection therapy and effect on LPP in SUI rat model. Methods:Isolation, cultivation and identification of SD rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell were performed. 5-azacytidine was introduced to induce muscle-like cells. SUI was produced in 72 6-week-old female Sprague-Dawley rats which were divided into 4 groups:stem cell-gel group, muscle-like cell-gel group , Gel group and mock control group. 1 week, 4 weeks and 8 weeks after injection, the leak point pressure (LPP) was measured. HE staining of Desmin and α-skeletal muscle actin (α-SMA) were performed. Results:At 4 weeks and 8 weeks after injection in stem cell-gel group and muscle-like cell-gel group, growth of blood vessels gradually increased at gel edge, BMSC and muscle-like cells gathered around the new blood vessels observed by fluorescence tracer, muscle-like cells grew into elongated spindle-like cells, Desmin and α-SMA staining were obviously positive expression. LPP determinations of the mock control group compared with the Gel groups were significantly ***:Compound of BMSC, muscle-like cells and calcium alginate composite gel has the potential to differentiate into muscle cells in the microenvironment of SUI rat model. It is found by LPP measurement that the correlation between the increase in urethral resistance and the volume effect of calcium alginate gel is high.

Vegetation physiological parameter setting in the Simple Biosphere model 2(sib2) for alpine meadows in the upper reaches of Heihe river

Land surface process modeling of high and cold area with vegetation cover has not yielded satisfactory results in previous applications. In this study, land surface energy budget is simulated using a land surface model for the A'rou meadow in the upper-reach area of the Heihe River Basin in the eastern Tibetan Plateau. The model performance is evaluated using the in-situ observations and remotely sensed data. Sensible and soil heat fluxes are overestimated while latent heat flux is underestimated when the default parameter setting is used. By analyzing physical and physiological processes and the sensitivities of key parameters, the inappropriate default setting of optimum growth and inhibition temperatures is identified as an important reason for the bias. The average daytime temperature during the period of fastest vegetation growth(June and July) is adopted as the optimum growth temperature, and the inhibition temperatures were adjusted using the same increment as the optimum temperature based on the temperature acclimation. These adjustments significantly reduced the biases in sensible, latent, and soil heat fluxes.

Quantitative trait loci for morphometric traits in multiple families of common carp(Cyprinus carpio)

Quantitative trait locus(QTL) mapping is frequently used to understand the genetic architecture of quantitative ***,we performed a genome scanfor QTL affecting the morphometric characters in eight full-sib families containing 522 individuals using different statistical methods(sib-pair and half-sib model).A total of 194 QTLs were detected in 25 different regions on 10 linkage groups(LGs).Among them,37 QTLs on five LGs(eight,13,24,40 and 45) were significant(5%genome-wide level),while the remaining 40(1%chromosome-wide level) and 117(5%chromosome-wide level) indicated suggestive effect on those *** for most morphometric traits were moderate to high,ranging from 0.21 to 0.66,with generally strong phenotypic and genetic correlations between the traits.A large number of QTLs for morphometric traits were co-located,consistent with their high correlations,and may reflect pleiotropic effect on the same *** pathways were mapped for possible candidate genes on QTL *** significantly enriched pathway was identified onLG45,which had a P-value of 0.04 and corresponded to the "regulation of actin cytoskeleton pathway".The results are expected to be useful in marker-assisted selection(MAS) and provide valuable information for the study of gene pathway for morphometric and growth traits of the common carp.

Effects of melatonin implantation on cashmere yield,fibre characteristics,duration of cashmere growth as well as growth and reproductive performance of Inner Mongolian cashmere goats

Background： Exogenous melatonin could induce cashmere growth. However, induced growth of cashmere fleece by melatonin implants cannot be combined with the typical growth, resulting in earlier shedding followed by another cycle of cashmere growth. To address this issue, we examine the effects on the cashmere yield, fibre characteristics, and the growth and reproductive performance of cashmere goats of planned administration of melatonin. Methods： Eighteen half-sib, female goats were assigned to two treatments （n = 9） including a control and a treatment where melatonin （2 mg/kg BW） was implanted at the end of April and end of June. Cashmere growth and shedding were observed for approximately ] year following implantation. Fibre samples were collected monthly to determine cumulative cashmere length. Initiation and cessation dates for cashmere growth as well as the rate of cashmere growth were calculated. Cashmere yield, weight gain of dam, kidding date, litter size, and birth weight were also recorded. Results： Melatonin implantation increased cashmere yield by 34.5 % （control 553.7 g vs. melatonin 745.0 g; P〈 0.01）, cashmere length by 21.3 % （control 95.2 mm vs. melatonin 115.4 mm; P 〈 0.01）, and decreased fibre diameter by 4.4 % （control 14.6 pm vs. melatonin 14.0 IJm; P 〈 0.03）. In melatonin-treated goats, the average initiation date was earlier than in control goats （May 18, 2013 vs. July 2, 20]3; P〈 0.01） but there was a similar cessation date （March 22, 2014 vs. March 27, 2014）. Consequently, the duration of cashmere growth was longer in melatonin-treated goats than in control goats （307 vs.270 days; P 〈 0.01）. The final BW, average daily gain, kidding date, litter size, and birth weight were not influenced by melatonin implantation. Conclusions： These data indicate that melatonin implantation （2 mg/kg BW） on two occasions （late April and June） increased cashmere yield by combining the induced growth of cashmere fleece with the typical growth and decreased the fi

Beam Measurement System in NSRL

This paper describes the beam measurement system for the accelerator of the National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory (NSRL). The design considerations of the beam measurement instrumentation system for the NSRL are aided by the commissioning of the machine and provide sufficient machine parameters for machine study as well as the common operation. The beam measurement system includes the part for the linac and transport line and the part for the storage ring. The measurement results are presented in the paper.

Estimating genetic parameters with molecular relatedness and pedigree reconstruction for growth traits in early mixed breeding of juvenile turbot

An introduced turbot population was used to establish families and to estimate genetic parameters of the offspring. However, there is a lack of pedigree information, and common environmental effects can be introduced when each full-sib family is raised in a single tank. Therefore, in the genetic evaluation, SSRs(simple sequence repeats) were used to reconstruct the pedigree and to calculate molecular relatedness between individuals, and the early mixed-family culture model was used to remove the impact of the common environmental effects. After100 d of early mixed culture, twenty SSRs were used to cluster 20 families and to calculate paired molecular relationships(n=880). Additive genetic matrices were constructed using molecular relatedness(MR) and pedigree reconstruction(PR) and were then applied to the same animal model to estimate genetic parameters. Based on PR, the heritabilities for body weight and body length were 0.214±0.124 and 0.117±0.141, and based on MR they were 0.101±0.031 and 0.102±0.034, respectively. Cross validation showed that the accuracies of the estimated breeding values based on MR(body weight and body length of 0.717±0.045 and 0.629±0.141, respectively) were higher than those of PR(body weight and body length of 0.692±0.052 and 0.615±0.060, respectively). The MR method ensure availability of all genotyped selection candidates, thereby improving the accuracy of the breeding value estimation.

Combining with the advantages of two-dimensional(2D)nanomaterials,MXenes have shown great potential in next generation rechargeable *** with other 2D materials,MXenes generally suffer severe self-agglomeration,low capacity,and unsatisfied durability,particularly for larger sodium/potassium ions,compromising their practical *** this work,a novel ternary heterostructure self-assembled from transition metal selenides(MSe,M=Cu,Ni,and Co),MXene nanosheets and N-rich carbonaceous nanoribbons(CNRibs)with ultrafast ion transport properties is designed for sluggish sodium-ion(sib)and potassium-ion(PIB)*** from the diverse chemical characteristics,the positively charged MSe anchored onto the electronegative hydroxy(-OH)functionalized MXene surfaces through electrostatic adsorption,while the fungal-derived CNRibs bonded with the other side of MXene through amino bridging and hydrogen *** unique MXene-based heterostructure prevents the restacking of 2D materials,increases the intrinsic conductivity,and most importantly,provides ultrafast interfacial ion transport pathways and extra surficial and interfacial storage sites,and thus,boosts the high-rate storage performances in sib and PIB *** the quantitatively kinetic analysis and the density functional theory(DFT)calculations revealed that the interfacial ion transport is several orders higher than that of the pristine MXenes,which delivered much enhanced Na+(536.3 mAh g^(−1)@0.1 A g^(−1))and K^(+)(305.6 mAh g^(−1)@1.0 A g^(−1))storage capabilities and excel-lent long-term cycling ***,this work provides new insights into 2D materials engineering and low-cost,but kinetically sluggish post-Li batteries.

Estimation of genetic parameters for upper thermal tolerances and growth-related traits in turbot Scophthalmus maximus

An abnormally high temperature produces a stress response in turbot causing large economic losses in the turbot aquaculture industry of China. A genetic improvement of the upper thermal tolerance (UTT) of turbot could allow cultured fi sh to adapt. A genetic evaluation of UTT is required for determining the practicability of including this trait into a breeding program. In this study, data were recorded from a temperature tolerance test conducted on 3 200 individual turbots from 32 full-sib groups. A cross-sectional linear model and a cross-sectional threshold probit model were used to analyze the test-period survival and a cross-sectional threshold logit model was used to analyze the test-day survival. In addition, phenotypic and genetic correlations between body weight and survival data were estimated. The estimated heritability values obtained from the cross-sectional linear model (CSL), the cross-sectional threshold (probit) model (THRp), and the cross-sectional threshold (logit) model (THRl) were 0.247 9±0.108 3, 0.288 3±0.161 2, and 0.106 9±0.045 2, respectively. The correlation coeffi cients among the full-sib family estimated breeding values (EBVs) obtained from the three models were greater than 0.998 6 and all models produced an almost identical family ranking. The accuracies of selection obtained with the CSL, THRp, and THRl model were 0.773 8, 0.775 4, and 0.784 4, respectively, the greatest from the THRl model. The genetic correlations between body weight and survival data EBVs from the CSL, THRp, and THRl models were 0.020 1,-6.201 1×10^-4 , and -3.115 4×10^-4 , respectively, and the phenotypic correlations between the two traits were -0.837 1 and -0.667 1, respectively. The findings of this study provide background information to determine the best strategy of selection for the genetic improvement of UTT in turbot.

Understanding the structural evolution and Na^＋ kinetics in honeycomb-ordered O＇3-Na3Ni2SbO6 cathodes

The development of new sodium ion battery （sib） cathodes with satisfactory performance requires an in-depth understanding of their structure-function relationships, to rationally design better electrode materials. In this work highly ordered, honeycomb-layered Na3Ni2SbO6 was prepared to elucidate the structural evolution and Na~ kinetics during electrochemical desodiation/sodiation processes. Structural analysis involving in situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction （XRD） experiments, electrochemical performance measurements, and electrochemical characterization （galvanostatic intermittent titration technique, GITT） methods were used to obtain new insights into the reaction mechanism controlling the （de）intercalation of sodium into the host NaB-xNi2SbO6 structure. Two phase transitions occur （initial O＇3 phase → intermediate P＇3 phase→final O1 phase） upon Na^＋ extraction; the partial irreversible O＇3-P＇3 phase transition is responsible for the insufficient cycling stability. The fast Na^＋ mobility （average 10^-12 cm^2·s^-1） in the interlayer, high equilibrium voltage （3.27 V）, and low voltage polarization （50 mV） establish the linkage between kinetic advantage and a good rate performance of the cathode. These new findings provide deep insight into the reaction mechanism operating in the honeycomb cathode; the present approach could be also extended to investigate other materials for sibs.
