Replacing fossil fuels with fuel cells is a feasible way to reduce global energy shortages and environmental ***,the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)at the cathode has sluggish kinetics,which limits the development of fuel *** is significant to develop catalysts with high catalytic activity of *** single-atom catalysts(SACs)of Pt supported on heteroatom-doped graphene are potential candidates for *** we studied the SACs of Pt with different heteroatoms doping and screened out Pt-C_(4) and Pt-C_(3)O_(1) structures with only 0.13 V overpotential for ***,it is found that B atoms doping could weaken the adsorption capacity of Pt,while N or O atoms doping could enhance *** regularity was verified on Fe *** the electronic interaction analysis between Pt and adsorbate,we explained the mechanism of this regularity and further proposed a new descriptor named corrected d-band center(ε_(d-corr))to describe *** descriptor is an appropriate reflection of the number of free electrons of the SACs,which could evaluate its adsorption *** work provides a purposeful regulatory strategy for the design of ORR catalysts.

Dear Editor,Fruit rot caused by necrotrophic pathogens results in substantial reductions in fruit yield and revenues worldwide(Petrasch et al.,2.19).A widespread phenomenon in fleshy fruit species is the susceptibility of ripe fruits to necrotrophs(Silva et al.,2.2.),which facilitates seed dispersal(Forlani et al.,2.19)but causes severe post-harvest losses in *** most of the nutritional and sensory qualities of fruits are elaborated at the ripening stage(Liu et al.,2.15),balancing fruit ripening and pathogen resistance to maintain fruit quality has proven to be challenging.A deeper understanding of the mechanisms underlying the increased susceptibility of fruits to necrotrophs during ripening could lead to new strategies for producing necrotrophy-resistant fruits without compromising ripening-relatedquality.

Tumor metastasis, responsible for approximately 90% of cancer-associated mortality, remains poorly understood. Here in this study, we employed a melanoma lung metastasis model to screen for metastasis-related genes. By sequential tail vein injection of mouse melanoma B16F10 cells and the subsequently derived cells from lung metastasis into BALB/c mice, we successfully obtained highly metastatic B16F15 cells after five rounds of in vivo screening. RNA-sequencing analysis of B16F15 and B16F10 cells revealed a number of differentially expressed genes, some of these genes have previously been associated with tumor metastasis while others are novel discoveries. The identification of these metastasis-related genes not only improves our understanding of the metastasis mechanisms, but also provides potential diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets for metastatic melanoma.

Given that it was a once-in-a-century emergency event,the confinement measures related to the coronavirus disease 2.19(COVID-19)pandemic caused diverse disruptions and changes in life and work *** changes significantly affected water consumption both during and after the pandemic,with direct and indirect consequences on ***,there has been a lack of holistic evaluation of these ***,we propose a novel framework to study the impacts of this unique global emergency event by embedding an environmentally extended supply-constrained global multi-regional input-output model(MRIO)into the drivers-pressure-state-impact-response(DPSIR)*** framework allowed us to develop scenarios related to COVID-19 confinement measures to quantify country-sector-specific changes in freshwater consumption and the associated changes in biodiversity for the period of *** results suggest progressively diminishing impacts due to the implementation of COVID-19 vaccines and the socio-economic system’s self-adjustment to the new *** 2.2.,the confinement measures were estimated to decrease global water consumption by about 5.7% on average across all scenarios when compared with the baseline level with no confinement ***,such a decrease is estimated to lead to a reduction of around 5% in the related pressure on *** the interdependencies and interactions across global supply chains,even those countries and sectors that were not directly affected by the COVID-19 shocks experienced significant impacts:Our results indicate that the supply chain propagations contributed to 79% of the total estimated decrease in water consumption and 84%of the reduction in biodiversity loss on *** study demonstrates that the MRIO-enhanced DSPIR framework can help quantify resource pressures and the resultant environmental impacts across supply chains when facing a global emergency ***,we recommend the development o
