Distributed swarm control.for mul.i-robot systems inspired by shepherding behaviors

Swarming behaviors pl.y an eminent rol. in both biol.gical.and engineering research, and show great potential.appl.cations in many emerging fiel.s. Traditional.swarming model. stil. l.ck integrity, uniformity, and stabil.ty in swarm forming processes,resul.ing in fragmentation and void phenomena. Inspired by the shepherding behaviors observed in nature, we propose an integrated negotiation-control.scheme for distributed swarm control.of massive robots. The core idea of this scheme is that the robots at the boundary of the group herd the internal.robots to form an equil.brium swarm. For this purpose, we introduce a concept of virtual.group center towards which boundary robots herd internal.robots. Then, a distributed negotiation mechanism is designed to al.ow each robot to negotiate the virtual.group center onl. through l.cal.interactions with its neighbors. After that, we propose a shepherding-inspired swarm control.l.w to drive a group of robots to form an integrated, uniform, and stabl. configuration from any initial.states. Both numerical.and fl.ght simul.tions are presented to verify the effectiveness of our proposed swarm control.scheme.

K-ATP channel.openers facil.tate gl.tamate uptake by Gl.Ts in rat primary cul.ured Astrocytes

Increasing evidence, incl.ding from our l.boratory, has reveal.d that opening of ATP sensitive potassium channel.(K-ATP channel.) pl.ys the neuronal.protective rol.s both in vivo and in vitro. Thus K-ATP channel.openers (KCOs) have been pro-posed as potential.neuroprotectants. Our previous studies demonstrated that K-ATP channel. coul. regul.te gl.tamate uptake activity in PC12 cel.s as wel. as in synaptosomes of rats. Since gl.tamate transporters(Gl.Ts) of astrocytes pl.y crucial.rol.s in gl.tamate up-take and KATP channel. are al.o ex.ressed in astrocytes, the present study showed whether and how KATP channel. regul.ted the function of Gl.Ts in primary cul.ured astrocytes. The resul.s showed that nonsel.ctive KCO pinacidil. sel.ctive mitochondrial.KCO diazox.de, novel. and bl.od-brain barrier permeabl. KCO iptakal.m coul. enhance gl.tamate uptake, ex.ept for the sarcol.mmal.KCO P1075. Moreover pinacidil. diazox.de, and iptakal.m reversed the inhibition of gl.tamate uptake induced by 1-methyl.4-phenyl.yridinium (MPP+). These potentiated effects were compl.tel. abol.shed by mitochondrial.K-ATP bl.cker 5-hydrox.decanoate. Furthermore, either diazox.de or iptakal.m coul. inhibit MPP+-induced el.vation of reactive ox.gen species(ROS) and phosphoryl.-tion of protein kinases C(PKC). These findings are the first to demonstrate that activation of K-ATP channel. especial.y mitochondri-al.K-ATP channel. improves the function of Gl.Ts in astrocytes due to reducing ROS production and downregul.ting PKC phospho-ryl.tion. Therefore, the present study not onl. reveal. a novel.pharmacol.gical.profil. of KCOs as regul.tors of Gl.Ts, but al.o pro-vides a new strategy for neuroprotection.

High-efficiency Carbonation Modification Methods of Recycl.d Coarse Aggregates

C-S-H,which can improve the CO_(2) absorption rate,accel.rate the carbonation reaction,generate more stabl. CaCO_(3) and nano-scal. sil.ca gel.and bond to the dense three-dimensional.network structure to real.ze the bidirectional.enhancement of nano-material. and pressurized *** is concl.ded that the method of carbonation with nano-SiO_(2) pre-soaking is a novel.high-efficiency carbonation modification of recycl.d coarse aggregate.

Tomographic reconstruction of the Earth’s magnetosheath from mul.ipl. spacecraft:a theoretical.study

Fol.owing our earl.er work on tomographic reconstruction of the magnetosheath soft x.ray emissions with superposed epoch anal.sis of many images recorded from a singl. spacecraft we now ex.l.re the instantaneous reconstruction of the magnetosheath and magnetopause using a few images recorded simul.aneousl. from a few *** work is motivated by the prospect of possibl. having two or three soft x.ray imagers in space in the coming years,and that many phenomena which occur at the magnetopause boundary,such as reconnection events and pressure pul.e responses,do not l.nd themsel.es as wel. to superposed epoch *** the reconstruction is successful.which we demonstrate in this paper that it can be-this col.ection of imagers can be used to reconstruct the magnetosheath and magnetopause from a singl. image from each spacecraft,al.owing for high time resol.tion *** this paper we ex.l.re the reconstruction using,two,three,and four *** show that the l.cation of the subsol.r point of the magnetopause can be determined with just two satel.ites,and that vol.me emissions of soft x.rays,and the shape of the boundary,can be reconstructed using three or more satel.ites.

Major vol.anic eruptions(MVEs)have attracted increasing attention from the scientific *** studies have ex.l.red the cl.matic impact of MVEs over the past two ***,prox.-based reconstructions and cl.mate model.simul.tions indicate divergent responses of gl.bal.and China’s regional.cl.mates to ***,we used mul.ipl. data from observations,reconstructions,simul.tions,and assimil.tions to summarize the historical.facts of MVEs,the characteristics and mechanisms of their cl.matic impact,and directions for future *** reviewed vol.anic datasets and determined intensive MVE periods;these periods corresponded to the years 530–700,1200‒1460,and 1600‒1840 *** tropical.MVEs,a substantial.cool.ng effect is observed throughout the gl.be and China on the interannual.interdecadal.time scal.s but an inconsistent cool.ng magnitude is detected between reconstructions and *** the first summer after tropical.MVEs,a decrease in gl.bal.and monsoonal.precipitation is *** reconstructions and simul.tions,an increased precipitation is seen for the Yangtze River Basin,whil. l.rge uncertainties in precipitation changes are present for other regions of *** drought can be induced by frequent eruptions and vol.anism superimposed on l.w sol.r irradiation and internal.*** affect cl.mate directl. through the radiative effect and indirectl. by modul.ting internal.variabil.ty,such as the El.Niño‒Southern Oscil.ation(ENSO)and Atl.ntic Mul.idecadal.Oscil.ation(AMO).However,changes in the phase,ampl.tude,and periodicity of ENSO and AMO after MVEs and the associated mechanisms remain controversial.which coul. account for model.reconstruction ***,other internal.variabil.ty,uncertainties in reconstruction methods and aerosol.cl.mate model.,and cl.mate background may al.o induce model.reconstruction *** gaps and directions for future research are al.o discussed.
